Hello Sunshine

Hello crafters!  I have a bright and cheery card for you today with a sentiment to match!  I started by using the Watercolour Inks, Golden Sunrise and Red Sunset and dripping it onto my craft mat then picking it up with a crumbled piece of kitchen roll and dabbing it all over the background.  I cut two of the Double Stitched Rectangles and inked the smaller one with the same piece of kitchen roll, but without reinking it so it was a softer look.  I matted the two pieces and attached them in the centre of the background with mounting foam.  I cut the Hello die out of white and added a black shadow, then glued it to the centre matted pieces.  I stamped the other part of the sentiment and cut it out with the tag die, then added it with mounting foam below the other word.  I cut the Button Flower in white and added flower heads and buds to it, then glued it to the side of the sentiment.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2"  x  8 3/4"  in size.  All for now. Sue x

Hi Sue. You certainly know when the UK is in need of sunshine lol its horrible over here at the moment, grey, wet and very cold so this citrus glowing sunrise is just what we need, it's time to get our summer bedding plants in the ground but it's to horrible to play outside but your new button flowers are equally as petite and pretty, so its playtime inside for now and look forward to the summer months of 2021. Keep safe and well everyone and keep caring it costs nothing to show you care xxx

A lovely bright and sunny card Sue, as others have said on this grey and windy day. We seem to be stuck in a cycle of March winds and April showers with June just round the corner.

Hi Sue
The weather here is miserable for May so your bright and cheerful card is just the thing to brighten our day. Love the idea of dabbing the colour with crumpled paper towels, another technique to try

Hi Sue, Your card is a ray of sunshine in what has turned out to be a wet and miserable May here. My SIL never fails to comment on the beautiful weather in Naples FL, but also adds how it can be too overwhelming. I suppose if you have sunshine all the time it does become oppressive (lol) but chance to moan about it would be nice! WakeyL

Hi Sue, if only your bright and sunny card could entice the sun to actually come out and play. It would seem the whole of the UK is suffering today with strong winds and rain so your lovely card has helped brighten our day somewhat. The more I see of your button flowers the more I like them and they have jumped several places up on my list.

This card doesn’t have a lot of embellishments but it still makes an impression with the colorful background and the white frames. A fantastic example that sometimes less really is more!
