Aligned Striplet Card

Hi bloggers!  The Lotus Striplet is an incredibly versatile die with the different sections to it.  You can use all of the die or simply just some of the sections to create beautiful cards and projects.  It looks so nice when aligned to create a stunning background too, don't you think?

Just For You

Hello crafters!  I have a fun apron card for you today!  I just love this die set as there are so many uses for it!  Not to mention, so many of the dies in the accessory set will work with your Shadow Box cards too.  I went to my decorative paper stash for this one and selected some simple black and white polka dot paper for the top of the card and some matching diagonal stripes for the bottom of the card.  I wanted to bring in some red so I used a strip of card between the two designs as a divider border.  I cut the Apron out of Kraft card and then cut just the lower pocket area again.  I trimmed it neatly above the stitching and added a thin mounting foam edge to the back and attached it directly over the same spot in the full sized apron die cut.  This gave me a pocket to fill and hang stuff from.  I cut the small rounded pocket out of red card and attached it to the top of the apron the same way.  I cut all the utensils from the Baked With Love Accessory set out of either milk card, red card or silver shine card.  For the spatula, salt shaker and whisk, I used a silver paint pen and added some silver details to them and placed them in the pocket.  I hung the over mitt from the corner and added some light white pencil highlights to it.  I put the silver utensils in the upper pocket and hung the measuring spoons from the corner of the pocket, which I also highlighted with a white pencil.  I used some red and white Bakers twine as the ties and finally added a small sentiment in the upper corner.  I have to warn you, I really want to decorate this apron in so many ways!  Who knows how it will show up looking in the future! LOL  The card was completed with white, black and red mats.  The finished dimensions are 5 1/2" x  7 1/2" n size.  All for now, Sue x

Happy Birthday

 Good Sunday morning all!  I debated on whether to post this card for a good while, but then I thought it might be useful to explain what this card started out to be and it might make more sense.  Originally I planned to make this card so that the centre of it would spin around, so I first created the multi layer frames using the Double Pierced Noble Squares (both original and Set B).  I cut the Triple Line Happy Birthday and black and glued one strip around the edge of the frame so that it could be read from any way you turned it!  I used some of the paper from my Classic Elegance Paper Pad for the backing of the frame. I switched to the Double Pierced Noble Circles to create the base for my focal element in black and white.  I cut the Gillian die in white and backed it with the same paper from the background of the frame.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the smallest die in the Noble Circle set.  The problem came when I couldn't locate a long enough brad to use for the mechanism to make the centre sentiment spin around so I ended up just putting it together with mounting foam for a stationery card.  I would have flipped the top sentiment on the frame so it could be read right ways around had I known, but it had already been glued in place.  Murphy's law, huh!  The funny thing is that I recently found the brads that I knew I had, but couldn't find at the time!  I completed the card with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.

Double Cut Accent Card

Hi crafters!  Nothing too fancy today, but the video shows you about double die cutting to create pretty detail behind your focal element.

Just a little reminder, I will be doing a show today on Hochanda at 11am showing how to assemble the new Working Candy Machine die set.  I have some really fun samples to share with you too, I can't wait!  It is only one hour though so I hope you will be able to pop by to catch it!

You're Special To Me

Hello there my crafty friends!  You had a quick glimpse of this one during one of the blog die launches, but I thought it deserves it's own day on the blog!  You will have to imagine a pretty lavender sort of colour here though, because try as I might, the wisteria card always looks grey when I photograph it!  I do apologise as I know it is the photographer (aka me!) as I just can't get the light right with this colour!   I selected a piece of wisteria card and embossed it with the Butterfly Dreams embossing folder.  I used the centre of the Madeleine die set to create a round frame with detail for my sentiment.  I attached it in the centre of the card with foam.  I cut four of the Starflower Cluster in black and cut the matching flowers in white and attached them behind.  I added mounting foam to all of them and arranged them around the centre sentiment.  I did some further matting with white, black and wisteria to complete the card. and added pearls to all the corners and flowers as accents.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Love and Kisses

Hi crafters!  I had meant to share this card with you ages ago, but it just got lost in my folders of well, face it, way too many cards to share! LOL  I really loved the way it came out though.  I started with the coconut white background and embossed it with the Dot Matrix Pinpoint embossing folder (hey, deja vu, that seems familiar!)  Next I cut three of the Happily Ever After die in white and stacked them, side by side with one in the middle on top.  I stamped the ForeverLove Stamp To Die For in black and used Distress Markers to give it a touch of colour in the flowers and leaves.  I cut it out with the matching Love Perspectives die and mounted it across the die cut with mounting foam.  I cut the "and kisses" plaque from the set in white and backed it with pale pink card and mounted it in the bottom right corner.  I used the Exquisite Poppies die set and made two white scrunched flowers and added them to the left of the sentiment, surrounded by accents of Olive Leaf branches.  A simple white on white mat completed the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  Today's card giveaway is a pretty blush and silver number (yes there is still just a bit of blush card left in my stash, but soon it will become a collector's item!)  Just for info, the blush card hasn't been discontinued, the paper mill that produced it has gone out of business!  We are actively looking for a replacement though, fingers crossed.   I started by embossing the coconut white background with the Dot Matrix Pinpoint folder for some lovely texture.  I decided that I just had to make this into a petticoat card using the Blossom Edger die set.  I cut three silver outlines from the Blossom Edger set then cut the coordinating solid out of blush card and attached them on to a tiered silver bottom section.  For the focal element, I cut the Maldives die set out of silver shine card and used it as the backdrop.  I cut the Seychelles out of blush card and layered it on top.  I used the inner die from the Maldives and cut it into a frame and seated it over my stamped sentiment.  The focal element was adorned with blush poppies seated on satin ribbon and Metallic Lynx as accents.  The card was completed with white, blush and silver mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be entered into the drawing to win this one.   The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.   All for now, Sue x
