Canadian Collection

Hi bloggers!  Last but not least today from  the Canadian Collection is the Border, Corner, Tag die set.  I have used the border here cut twice and inverted towards each other to create a wide band at the bottom of this card. It is just so pretty!  The card also shows the various parts of the Toronto die off nicely as well!  I hope you have enjoyed the first two days of the latest spring die launch.  We will be starting the morning off  bright and early with another collection so be sure to join us at 6am.  In the meantime, get all your comments caught up from the previous posts so you can be sure to be entered in all of the die drawings!  The drawing winners will be posted on Friday May 8th.  Do you have a favourite yet, one that perhaps ticks all the boxes for you?  I would love to know.  Please also feel free to "pin" all your favourites.  The button has been added to the bottom of all the posts for your convenience.   All for now, Sue x

Canadian Collection

Hi crafters and welcome back!  The three dies within the Canadian Collection are the Vancouver (shown here), the Toronto and the Montreal.  These are all beautifully detailed with separate cutting edges for versatility.  The outer design on each three is quite different but the inside shape is the same across them all, but with matting and layering size differences.  You may even notice the Lattice and Lace Striplet and the Petite Arched Adornment used on this card.  They all work so nicely together!  If you would like a chance at winning one of these three sets, just leave a comment.  Join me back here at 4pm for the last set in the Canadian Collection.  All for now, Sue x

Canadian Collection

Hello my crafty friends!  The Canadian Collection has arrived!  I am showcasing the new Canadian Background die here.  This is a gorgeous two part background with stunning piercing detail to it.  Use it without the inside cutting die to create the look that I have here or add in the middle die for a complete patterned background.  So useful both ways, plus with the linear nature to it, you can easily cut it down to whatever size is needed too!  If you would like a chance to win this one, a quick comment is all you need. If you are unsure about how to do that, there are easy to follow directions on the right hand side of my blog.  Hope to see you back here at noon for the next post!  All for now, Sue x

Striplets

Hi bloggers!  The last post for the first day, but there are four more days to follow!  The Striplets are next up with the Stacked Diamond Striplet (shown here) and the Lattice and Lace Striplet.  The Striplet dies have been ever popular and I have gone back to the original style with a shaped outer cutting ring for these.  Striplets have proved to be valuable assets to our card making and these will hopefully be no different for you.  If you would like to win either one of these die sets, just leave me a comment!  The morning starts off with one of the new collections, hope you can join me at 6am!  All for now, Sue x

Configurations

Hello crafters!  Also within the Configurations range are the edgers.  These are beautifully detailed edge dies with a 45 degree angle end.  There is a matching corner within the set that allows you to create so many different designs.  Again, a few examples have been included on the packaging but I know you will find so many more ways in which to use these (I know I have!)  Shown here is the Elegant Laced Edger die as a pretty edging around my centre focal element.  A comment left on this post will ensure you are included in the drawing for either of these die sets.  Join me back here at 4pm for the final post for today showcasing the new striplet dies.

One quick mention though, if you use just your first name when commenting, can you add something that defines you a bit more during the launch, a surname initial or funny alias will work just fine.  I only have one set of dies to giveaway and there are people with the same names many times during these launches.  I would hate anyone to be disappointed.  Also, if you use the "anonymous" title to post a comment, please be sure to add your name to the bottom as I will not know who it is from either!

Many Thanks

Morning bloggers and a great big Happy Birthday to my Mom!  She is 92 today!  Today's card is very similar to the one that I made for her birthday, but this is actually the card that I demoed on the POTD launch last week.  I started with the weaving and cut two Classic Weaving dies in white and two Striped Weaving dies out of Periwinkle card.  I glued the Striped atop the Classic to create the banded look.  I have done a You tube video showing how to prepare the weaving dies and do the weaving so you can check that out if you would like a more in depth explanation (it is called Woven and Framedhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwfaH_O8RRQ and you can watch it here)  I cut the  Ornate Pierced Rectangle Noble die in white using the outer and inner cutting edges to create a frame.  I used only the two outer cutting edges to create the blue edging and then glued it on top.  I added mounting foam to the frame and attached it over my woven piece. You just need to use your scissors to nip away the excess from underneath the frame.  I cut two Caribbean borders out of coconut white card covered with sticky adhesive sheets.  I glittered those with Diamond Sprinkles and glued them to the top and bottom edges of the card.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Pierced Flags and matted it with the next size up cut in blue.  I made a Camellia flower and sugared it with Iced Snow  and seated it upon a white satin ribbon bow which I attached at the end of the sentiment strip.  I added a thin blue satin ribbon bow as well for a pop of colour,  I finished it off with two matching blue stick pins.  The card was then finished with a pierced white mat, a thin periwinkle card mat and a wider white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  9" in size.

I do hope that you will be able to join me for my Spring Die Release Blog Launch later this week. As usual, we will be giving away a set of each of the new dies to lucky drawing winners!  I can't wait!   For now, I am just going to enjoy the day with my Mom!  All for now, Sue x

You're So Special

Good Sunday morning all!  I decided to have a little play with my Lyra die here to see if I could use the swirly bits as holding hands for my sentiment strip.  I think it worked a treat!  I used the decorative insert without the cutting edges three times in the centre of a piece of coconut white card.  I flipped the centre one to add a bit of randomness to it.  I mounted this piece over another piece of coconut white card that I added a sticky self adhesive sheet to and glittered with Iced Snow.  I stamped my sentiment on to a piece of blush card using a Clear Perfect Medium pad.  I heat embossed it in white and used some Tattered Rose distress ink along the edge to highlight the white embossing a bit.  I added white dots along the edges top and bottom with a white gel pen.  I slide the sentiment in diagonally through a few of the swirly bits of the Lyra cut out.  I trimmed the edges straight on the sides and added a drop of glue to secure it.  I made a pretty Camellia flower out of white card and edges it with Tattered Rose before sugaring it with Iced Snow.  I tucked some Mosaic Leaves in around it and tied a bow out of pink Bakers Twine and added it as well.  I completed the card with a paper pierced edge, a thin blush mat and another wider white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size.

Hello My Friend

Hello all!  Today's card was a bit of a lark for me as it really took me back to my early card making days.  One of the very first cards that I ever learned to make in a class that I took was a shaker card.  I hadn't made one in absolute ages, but had the urge to give it a go when I stumbled upon a bunch of sequins in my stash (not even sure where they came from to be honest!)  I cur an aperture in a piece of coconut white card using the dies from my New York Collection. I did a sort of reverse mat with the black and white card and added a piece of acetate to the back to make the window.  Around the window, I added mounting foam to the back so it sealed up the window and I was able to add my sequins so they would fall through when the card was assembled.  I stamped my sentiment so it would show through the window and one of the "tricks" I  recall from the class I took was to glue a couple of stray pieces of whatever you were using in the shaker card to the back.  This would help other pieces to catch on it when the recipient shook the card and just add a bit of interest.  I assembled the card and added a red frame cut from the Times Square die set.  Below the window, I cut two New York borders and glued them on with a strip of card in the centre.  I added some pearls on a strip to the centre as an accent.  I added a thin red and black mat before finishing with a wider white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  9 1/4" in size.

The winner of this week's Wednesday Card Giveaway is:

Craftynanna!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your card. All for now, Sue x
