There's No Place Like Home

Hi there my crafty friends!  I selected a piece of Silver Sparkle alcohol ink card and I cut the Budding Blooms die.  I cut the die again out of black card.  I added a white base behind the back die cut then cut the die several more times to use the fall away pieces for paper piecing.  I cut it with pale pink, ocean, raspberry and green card.  I paper pieced all the flowers into place, then added the silver sparkle card slightly offset over the top of the black die cut.  I cut a larger piece of white card and added a wide strip of Heather card to the bottom.  I used a score board and added some detail to the heather card and added a thin strip of silver card between the join area.  I cut the Congratulations sentiment in black and glued it to the bottom of the card.  I cut the There's No Place Like Home sentiment in black and added it to the top of the Budding Blooms die cut.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4"  x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Happy Spring

Hello bloggers!  I would like to share a cute Springtime card with you today.  I started by cutting the Chunky Blossoms die set.  I cut six different arrangements using pastel colours for the flowers and their pots.  I added mounting foam to the backs of them.  I arranged them diagonally up the middle of the card.  I cut a piece of white card on the diagonal and added mounting foam to the back of it.  I seated it just under the edges of the Chunky Blossoms.  I cut the Happy Spring sentiment in a bunch of pastel colours and glued the Happy part to the top of the card and the SPRING to the bottom of the card.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2"  x  8"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

Gone Fishing

Hi bloggers!  I started today's card by cutting the Wood Plank Background out of grey card.  I used some Weathered Wood distress ink around the edges.  I cut the Fishing Vest out of tan and brown card.  I used the tan die cut as the base and added the brown pockets which I cut from the other die cut.  I cut the Fishing hat from the Fishing Essentials set in brown and added it to the top corner of the vest.  I cut the Fishing Rod and used markers to colour it and added it to the side of the vest.  In the corners of the card, I added a bucket with fish and several of the fishing lures.  I cut the Gone Fishing sentiment in black and glued it to the upper corner of the card.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4"  x  7 1/4"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

Thinking Of You

Hello crafters!  Today's card features the Butterfly Cluster in pretty yellows, reds and oranges!  I started by cutting the Postage Stamp Rectangles out of black for the larger size and Marigold for the slightly smaller rectangle.  I layered the two postage stamp frames up and added mounting foam to the back to raise it.  I attached them to a piece of white card.  Next I cut the Butterfly Cluster with a piece of black card on top of a piece of white card as I cut it. I used the white card to colour the image with markers.  Once coloured, I glued the black die cut on top.  I seated the cluster at the bottom edge of the frame with mounting foam.  I cut the Large Thinking of You sentiment in black and glued it inside the frame.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4"  x  8 3/4"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

Thinking Of You

Hello bloggers!  I started today's card by selecting a piece of decorative paper from the Nautical Adventures Paper Pad.  I used a piece of striped paper for the top of the background, then added a solid blue to the bottom with a piece of white across the join area.  I cut the Window die out of white card. Then I used a piece of arctic blue card for the background inside the window and filled the window scene with three baskets filled with fall pumpkins, leaves and wheat sprays from the Autumn Scene die set.  I added a bare tree from the Swing Tree die set in the background with the odd leaf or two left on it and a sun in the upper corner from the Rain or Shine die set.  I added the window over the outdoor scene with mounting foam.  I cut the Thinking of You sentiment cut in navy blue and added it to a white shadow backing piece.  I attached it under the window with mounting foam.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4"  x  8 3/4"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

Just For You

Hello bloggers!  I have an easy heart card to share with you today.  I started by cutting three of the Heart Wreath die out of white card.  I glued them vertically to a wide strip of black card.  I paper pieced them by cutting the Heart Wreath three times out of raspberry card and using the fall away hearts from them and putting them back into place in the three white hearts.  I added a raspberry mat behind the black strip then added it to a wider piece of white card.  I cut the Just For You sentiment in white, then nipping the words apart. I glued each word in the hearts going downward.  The card was completed with white, raspberry and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4"  x  9 1/2"  in size.  All for now. Happy Spring

Hello crafters!  I love making this kind of card as it gives me a chance to use up some of my scrap pieces of card!  I selected four pastel colours from my scrap pile and cut them into one inch strips.  I aligned them across a piece of card with a sticky adhesive sheet adhered to it.  I used aqua, custard, lilac and pale pink.  I repeated several of them as I went across.  Next, I cut two consecutive sizes of the Looped Rectangles in white and layered them up together.  I added them to the middle of the background with mounting foam.  I cut the Happy Spring sentiment out of all four colours used in the background and glued them to the middle of the top looped rectangle die.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.   The finished dimensions are 7 3/4"  x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x
