Thanks

Hello crafters!  I have been really enjoying this technique that uses texture paste and Pixie Sparkles!  I think you will see many more of them to come!  I started with a piece of white card and taped the  Woven Rope stencil to it.  I used a plastic palette knife and pulled Clear Texture Paste through it.  While the mask was still in place, I tapped Beyond Blue and Zesty Lime Pixie Sparkles all over it.  I removed the mask and set it aside to dry thoroughly.  Once dry, I added a white frame cut from the Slimline Stitched Rectangle Frames.  I cut three of the Petal Pocket Flowers out of white card with a sticky adhesive sheet added to it.  I coated the flowers with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz then assembled them and added them to the bottom edge of the card.  I used a bit of Pixie Sparkled card made with the same colours and cut the centres of the flowers out of it.  I used Lace Edged Leaves cut in white as accents around the flowers.  For the sentiment I cut the Noble Thanks in black and added it to a piece of white vellum that I glued across the centre of the card.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 4 3/4"  x  9" in size.

I just thought I would let you know that I will be joining Gwen Fletcher on her 5:15pm show on Create & Craft today.  We are showcasing the latest release of the Big Bold Word Collection.  I hope you will be able to tune in and watch!   All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue and all that visit today. Thanks for the heads up about your visit to our screens later caaaan't wait. Congratulations to all our friends on having your name drawn out for the new dies, it makes it so special when you recognize every name so enjoy your gift xx.
Like one of our friends said yesterday "you're a brilliant teacher" I tend to agree and the only teacher that wont tell us "we could try harder" if it wasn't for you and finding this sweet blog I'd have no scooby about background techniques not that I try them as financing some of the goodies is out of reach but I'm not that artistic, Pixies are my go to I just need to add the sparkles to my list eventually. Today's sample is so clean and fresh and would make a real lovely feel good for anyone at the moment.

It's the DAY OF REFLECTION today, so I'm going to be thinking of our friends here that are maybe grieving, that lost someone special, but I'm so grateful that we as a group didn't lose anyone to covid ❤

Good Morning Sue. Another lovely card today. It looks very fresh ... Just like a beautiful spring morning. I love the masks. As yet I don't have any masks and pastes. This will be my next step up towards recreating fabulous backgrounds like this one.
I hope this is ok Sue if not please take it down.
I have lots of vellum it's for FREE. It's great quality. All I ask is P&P. PLEASE message me with detail if you want some. Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone who needs them today.

PLEASE STAY SAFE EVERYONE 🙏 🙏 🙏.

Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.

I must confess I tried a similar technique a number of years ago but with translucent embossing paste, white glitter and promarkers. It was all very fiddly (and ruined a few pen nibs too) but it did produce some great results. Then along came CS texture paste and saved my pens from further ruin! I find texture paste a lot easier to work with, it has a much better consistency and there are no nasty surprises when the stencil is peeled away..... I bought some of the watercolour inks recently so am going to experiment with these to see if they work as well as the pixie powders.

Have a great day folks

Love this card (well it has pixies on it!) I will certainly be trying this method. I think this card would be great for a thank you or thinking of you without the flowers for a man. Putting flowers on a male card isn’t always appropriate & it is difficult otherwise. However I think the stencilling with just a sentiment would still look good. Thank you Sue.

Congratulations to all the lucky winners! Enjoy!

Hi Sue. Love the background with the pixie sparkle through the stencil. What a great stencil which would work very nicely for cards for both men and women. I shall try very hard to catch you on TV this afternoon.
