For My Friend

Hello bloggers!  Today's card offering comes from the September release dies.  I started by cutting an oval frame using both the Double Pierced Ovals original set and Set B.  I used the B set to add the very thin outer black frame around the original white ova frame.  I cut the centre die from the Scalloped Lattice Frames set B to add a pretty scalloped background behind the oval frame.  I cut two sections of it.  I backed it with a piece of black card to show through.  I placed the frame and backing onto a piece of Blue Dusk card.  To the side of the blue card, I added thin edges created by using the Striped Swirl Edger thin strip cut in blue dusk card and backed with black card.  I mounted both edges with foam to raise them for dimension.  I stamped my sentiment and used the Double Pierced Noble Circles to cut a multi-layer frame out of white and blue and seated it over my sentiment.  I attached it in the centre of the larger oval frame with mounting foam.  I completed the card with blue flowers cut from the Exquisite poppy die in opposite corners and accented with Lace Edged Leaves in black.  I added two small flowers to the sentiment circle as well.  White, black and blue mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a very pretty card today, I wished I had bought the swirly lattice as it looks really good behind the oval and circles, I do have all the noble ones though so might try this with the straight lattice which I have.

Frances - I hope your hubby continues to improve, the more he tries with the exercises the better, sending healing hugs.

Laine - hope the puncture gets fixed soon, I know where you are coming from.

Elaine - Hope when the drs. check out Andrew's stomach pains that it is nothing to worry about, special hugs to you all xxx

Tina and Peter, Tina and Mick and everyone else sending special hugs

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Just waiting for my Hochanda foliage dies to arrive along with the embossing folders and pine cone embellishments from the previous weekends show. I have the two new snowflake dies so once my new order arrives I can play,
Thank you Pam for your kind thoughts regarding Peter and myself. He is now eating, and sleeping well and getting back some of his cheeky ways like last night he had been for an hours lay down and got up asking for his breakfast this being 9:30pm. Like a good wife did him some!!!!!

Morning Sue. What an absolutely gorgeous card to start the week. The colour scheme, the design, mix of dies and finishing touches all come together so beautifully, I love it and it's something that I'd love to replicate had I got the talent and dies but I have neither ! But it really is pretty Sue.
Well Sue, nanny did it again ! What's up with me ? Some nannies embarrass themselves by being to loud, some by being too over powering and think they know best, me, I end up in tear's over the most smallest thing lol. Baby Sensory is all about development, and all the senses hence the name. So that part of the day started with a song all about saying hello to the day and friends, about the sun and the warmth growing the corn, the lyrics alone are beautiful but put that with the stunning sweet gentle voice of the group leader and watching my daughter with her daughter nesting between her legs singing to her little girl, doing the hand movements so slowly and the odd signing hand movements, looking at her daughter with so much love, well I can tell you I was a jibbering mess lol can you believe it ? Why ? Lol. It's a good job my family know how 'sensitive' I am and I think they may have expected me to be stupid cuz as I looked up through tear's after trying to video Lou and Lottie I saw her turn to her husband and dad and say " mother's off" laughing lol !!! I need to get a grip me thinks, but that's just me, a little bit daft I'm afraid ! But they put on a lovely afternoon for their daughter and the little guests had so much fun, and considering there were lots of little guests, it was fairly free of baby cries can you believe, Baby Sensory is a God send it has to be said lol.
And to top off a beautiful afternoon of making memories, when we got back home, our son in law had sent a lovely message saying Lottie couldn't ask for more loving grand parents and that HE loved us both..... think we've cracked it lol.
On that note Sue, I will thank you again for a beautiful start to our week, and hope you have a lovely day, so take this hug and use it when you want it xxx

Ooooh what a wonderful design, Sue, using ovals with circles and it really works. Sadly don't have ovals or lattice but feel the need....... reckon there's an eighth deadly sin, lusting after your dies! Great colours and love the black side strip and of course the poppies. Love it love it.
Frances, hope your husband is improving - and not too far for visits or the dreaded hospital parking?
Laine, hope your mobility issues sorted soon before you go stir crazy - if you were my neighbour Mr P would have sorted things out quickly - a very handy chap. Yes, vets do see more of us than they would wish, but had a terrible blow as my super vet of 16 years is leaving (more time with her own dogs/horses/husband's business) lots of tears. Been blessed with 2 spectacularly wonderful vets over the years and really thought she would be with us for life - ah well. She understands about ferals and 'special needs' and has an empathy with everybody and will be missed by scores of us. Very sad. Honestly, it's almost like a bereavement, feel devastated. Best wishes to your BF - PP, missing the banter.
Hugs all round.

Morning Sue and ladies,

What a stunner of a card to greet me this morning. Loving it so much.
Congratulations to all the comments winners this last month.

Been absent again for a quite a while as Jamie, Grandson No.1, and myself have been on The Great American Crossing, West to East Coast starting in New York and finishing in San Francisco. This trip incorporated Route 66, Grand Canyon culminating in driving from Los Angeles to SF along the Pacific Highway. These were 3 trips that my beloved Pete and myself were going to make when he had finally retired. He didn't make it so Jamie has done them with me in his memory. So much was packed into our trip, it was truly amazing although living out of a suitcase for almost 4 weeks was sometimes not so much fun.
We have over 1,000 photos between us and met the most loveliest of people sharing our coach with whom we will stay in touch with. We are even talking about a Tour Reunion for next year! How's that for special friendships forged quickly? Pete would have loved to meet them, they are his kind of people. No-one fell out at all the whole 4 weeks, fantastic that!

Catching up on all the posts I missed.
Special hugs, healing thoughts and gentle prayers for all Wilsonettes who have not had such good health lately. I hope your days improve.

Love 7 hugs

Hi Sue, I'm late today with my comments, just got back from Hospital - been there all night with my Hubby Dave,I had to call an ambulance for him last night as he had a very bad chest and couldn't breathe. After various tests and things it is a bad chest infection and not the pneumonia they at first thought. He was on a trolley but I was on a plastic chair so very little rest or sleep, which I'm hoping to get once Dave is back home, maybe later today.

Anyway, the card is great as usual and I loved your shows over the last few days. Your dies and stamps and embossing folders get better and better,

thank you so much for the daily treats and craftyhappiness everyone,

Hi Sue,
What a pretty card for the start of the week...love it!!
Well, I've been in the wars again and this time, Pam, you'll be pleased to hear I went to the doctor. How about this...I called the surgery starting at 8:00 only to get the engaged signal. This went on for ten minutes and when they finally answered I almost dropped the phone lol. I nearly dropped it again when I was told I could be seen at 10:30. This meant I had to catch the 9:00 bus. By this time its about 8:20 and I'm still in my pjs! I managed to get a shower, eat a slice of toast and get dressed in time to crawl to the bus stop. Yesterday, I got up from the chair in my craft room and it was like a bolt of lightening had gone through my left side. I actually screamed and fell to my knees the pain was so bad. Of course, Misty (the dog) chose that moment to want to go out so I literally had to crawl on my hands and knees to the kitchen and try to open the door...what fun I do have. Of course, if my sister was still living in Newquay I would have called her but I'm on my own now. It eased off enough for me to get up and I ended up laing on the bed with a hot water bottle. I almost decided that I'd arrange a house call as I didn't think I was going to be able to make it to the surgery but today it had eased up enough to make the trip. Turns out it's a problem with my sacroiliac joint. I thought it might be sciatica but between us we managed to rule that out, between us being Dr. Cath asking where the pain was and me telling her lol. She's a great doctor and is probably the only one I've ever actually liked. She told me to rest it as much as I can as the worst pain is in the initial stages...bad week to relax and not do any lifting, the Minx is off to the vet on Wednesday, I've got a grocery order coming on Thursday and it's back to the health park on Friday for my annual blood tests...at least I can rest for the remainder of today and again tomorrow :).
The funniest part of the morning was getting a text from the surgery to remind me about my appointment at 10:30...it arrived while I was waiting for my prescription in SuperDrug at just past 11:00 lol.
At least the sun is shining after a chilly start to the morning, things always look better when the sun shines don't they.
Hugs to everyone who needs one today, and healing thoughts to all who may not be feeling too well right now.
Happy Crafting, everyone.
Bejay xx

Hi Sue and lovely ladies
What a stunner today. I got the scallopped lattice, it's such a beautiful die and so useful. Sadly not the basic pierced shapes, will have to make do with what I have for now ie un-pierced lol. The colours are gorgeous and as always, love love love that pop of black.
Sorry I've been missing for a few days, it's been bonkers here and now I got the lurgie, cough, splutter.
Well we've finally got FIL's flat sorted, it's been an emotional time seeing this old man's life packed up into cardboard boxes and bin bags, most of which were destined for the tip. His dog was rehomed a few months ago but when we were cleaning we found some little paw prints where the dog had walked in some red paint and then in onto the hall floor.
Steph, I think I'm in the sensitive camp with you, yes I did shed a few tears when I saw them. Close to it when I read your post too! Sounds like Lottie had a fab time with all the family there to create those precsious memories with her.
Laine, sorry to hear about your puncture on your chariot. You're right, this simply won't do. How is a lady to get about with a puncture? Hope you get it sorted and you can get out and about real soon.
Cheryl your trip sounded amazing. We did the Pacific Coast Highway roadtrip 20+ years ago and have been wanting to go back ever since. One day...
Yvonne, hope you're OK Princess.
Lynda, hope you are too, after your flu jab.
Sending hugs to everyone who needs one.

Hi Sue, a lovely card and I like the colours (yes, even the black bits!) and the scalloped lattice is fast becoming a favourite. The poppies are as beautiful as ever.

Huge thank-you's to June S, Diane G, Myra, Lynne L, Tracy and Pat L. Hope I haven't missed anyone. Hubby had more tests today and starts physiotherapy tomorrow.
Laine - thank you and have your sinuses cleared up yet?
Crewe Trish - it could have been so much worse, I am thankful for small mercies.
'P' - it takes about 25 minutes each way if the traffic is good, a bit longer if I catch rush hour. Parking has been relatively easy so far. My favourite vet retired a few months ago and it really doesn't seem the same without him so I can empathise with you.
Cheryl - so glad you had such a fantastic trip and have made some lovely memories.
Crafti Moggie Pearl - you have my sympathy it's no fun just sitting around and waiting.
Bejay - I think we should just declare you a disaster zone! Hope you can manage some rest and that the pain subsides.

Thinking of all our other poorly Wilsonettes and their families and hope everyone gets better soon.

I know I meant to message last week but I don't remember if I achieved it. Billy has been has found to have a partial cruciate ligament tear which has caused arthritis. It was only found once the tear has got bad enough to cause him to limp and his knee to get hot. He got some medicine and this stops the swelling and pain. An x-ray confirmed it last Wednesday. We saw the surgeon Friday and he has an op this Wednesday called a TTA, which involves a metal plate being put in his tibia and the ligament being repaired too which all together should lessen the pressure on the meniscus (the spongy bit between the leg bones) and prevent it being damaged, lessening the chance of bad arthritis. I gotta keep my nutty mutt as calm as I can to let his leg heal, I got to block his view of the windows so he won't jump up to look out and put big boxes on the furniture next to the windows he jumps up on. I know it sounds mean but it's the only way as he forgets in that moment of excitement and if he damages his leg before it's healed it's not a good outcome... I don't want to think about that! I will be back soon as I can after to tell his fan club how he's doing.

Sorry, two-parter...

Okay, here we go, not too long I promise...

All the travelling to and from the vets has rattled my bones and has got me tired out again. I got things to sort for my hospital visit at the end of the month so must do it as soon as I can, have appointments with doctor and nurse to see to soon as I can too, was given different migraine meds which have given me one or two clearish days a week but hard to tell with so much to think about. With all of it going on I have forgot about feeling down, not enough energy to feel sad!

Mr still hasn't had job success, had interviews on almost everything he's applied for but no luck, good feedback but everyone tells him there was someone better qualified which is fair enough as they don't want to have to spend time training someone. He found a bricklaying job a 45 minute drive away on Sunday though, a years contract and he'll apply later this week as he's doing some work for family last few days and as much as I love him it's been nice to have thinking space again!

I got to call it quits here for now as my head was funny earlier and it's paying me a return visit as it's almost time for bedtime meds and sleep.

Miss visiting here so much when I can't but believe me when I say I think of everyone and always hope you're all doing well. Big hugs and best wishes to all, if not before I will be back to let you know how Billy gets on. Have a great week & happy crafting everyone,

T x

What a stunning card Sue, absolutely top notch. Not got any of the dies so will just have to look on in praise.
As it's so late I will try and catch up tomorrow but I can feel the pain flowing through my body that heralds the start of a flare so may not succeed.
Sending love n hugs to you all xxx

This is a beautiful card. The layers and details are exquisite without being too ornate. If someone gave me that card, I would frame it and hang it. Well done. Pinned as usual.
