Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  I am starting to amass quite a few extra Christmas cards from all the demos on the shows so I thought it was time to start adding them into the Wednesday card giveaway!  I hope you don't mind.  I started by stamping the Filigree Poinsettia Additions stamp in black all the way around the edge of a piece of milk card.  I dried it well with a heat tool and used an anti static pad over it as well.  Next I stamped it again, but this time using a Clear Perfect Medium pad.  I tried to fill in the area between the previous stamps, then I coated it with Bright Gold embossing powder and heat embossed them.  I used Midnight Black Colour Cloud around the edge with a smoothie to give it a sort of antiqued look.  Next I cut a smaller piece of black card and used the stamp around the edge of it with the Clear Perfect Medium pad.  I dusted the edges with Gold Sparkle mica powder and removed the excess with a tissue.  I cut the Christmas Angel 2016 in the centre of this piece to get the aperture shape.  I added the aperture to another piece of milk card covered with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I cut one more angel out of milk card and re inserted the die back into the aperture shape, then filled in the sticky areas with Diamond Sprinkles.  I went all the way around the edge with a bead of dries clear glue and coated it with Iced Snow and allowed it to dry.  I made two poinsettias out of milk card and used a gold paint pen around the edges.  I seated the flowers on the corner of the topper with some metallic gold linx.  The card was completed with a pierced milk mat, a thin black and thin gold mat and a final milk mat.  The finished dimensions are
7 1/2" x  8" in size.   If you would like to be included in the drawing to win this card, just leave a comment on this blog post.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post. All for now,
Sue x

Beautiful card Sue, perfect for giveaway.
Little Sarah has had so many disappointments over the failed ops, how cruel and thoughtless to ask her to choose her chair colour and then not deliver.. She really deserves a truly bling chair, bless her.
Tina, I'm glad that Mick has taken the medical advice to have the peg fitted, what does it do,but you can understand his feelings, he was kept in hospital such a long time previously.. Hope to hear soon that he is improving.
Tina T and Peter, hope all is going well.
Elaine and Andrew, my continued hugs and sport, it will be worth it at the end when he is well.
Lorraine, think about seeing the doctor honey, before it gets any worse, sometimes you just need to talk to them.
Laine, hope you are feeling better soon, and the same wishes to all our poorly friends.
June, you are a fountain of knowledge.
Steph I'm sure Lottie will love her Grandmas card, it will be gorgeous.
Hugs to all, including our Tracey

Morning Sue. I remember this young lady well and thought how beautiful she looked on a background of elegance. It was so nice to see you stamping again. Like Nancy above me I too was lucky and honoured enough to be chosen to receive a red and white festive giveaway card which is at the front of my shelf in my little craft room (I've tried to tell them it's a craft room and not a second bedroom but they still insist on making us pay for it) !! Lol.
Going back to your weekly generosity, whoever gets picked from Random to get a card is extremely lucky, but the very very fortunate person that receives all the 'orphans' too must feel like they've won the lotto plus the euro millions all at the same time !
On that note, here comes my daily hug for the day, and hope that you have a good day xxx

Hi, Sue,
I think I'm finally getting the hang of my new tablet so I might actually get to posted without too many silly mistakes. I lover this card! It's so elegant and the dimension rearly adds to it.
I'm battling a really sore head today...yesterday the dog and I clashed heads, she decided to jump on the bed just as I bent over to pick something up. I've never felt that kind of pain and thought I was going to be sick! I was expecting a huge bruise this morning as it hurts so much...just a small red mark though so no impressive 'war wound' to show off lol. I think today will be just pottering around in the craft room and playing with the kitten lol.
Happy Wednesday everyone.

Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes.
I seen you making this card flower and I could see the potential of it done in more Norah colours, lol.i I love your angels as hey always let me think that there is hope at he end of trying times and I know that there is a good lot of people that see them as that symbol of hope and prayer being heard. I've dropped Rory off aft college, O.H. Is at work so I will have a nice peaceful day pottering around doing things in between a few sit downs to recover, lol. When husbands are about you just can't get on with things that you normal do as they are always in the road or moaning about what you're doing and why are you doing it, or mines moaning about the bleach stink that is around the house. Well how many of them actually think of taking cleaner and bleach to the bathroom or w.c.? I just like to know that they won't stand a chance of surviving in mine those pesky germs. So I'm off to do that and get my little or deck as it is so light, to hoover around the downstairs.
Pam, it's lovely to see you back from your holiday flower and I hope it gave you that much needed rest and boost.
Elaine, I'm so glad that Andrew a) was feeling a bit better and b) that he had a nice bit of father son time in their fishing contest as it would do both of them the world of good.
Tina T, I hope that Peter gets on well at the hospital as it is not nice to get these things changed or sorted but I'm sending him and you hugs to keep you both going through what could be a stressful day for both of you..
I am resorted to using my iPad to connect this morning as the keyboard on the main computer has decided it doesn't like to space or to type the letter n and I just can't get the hang off typing and seeing what I'm doing on this wee screen so I will leave you all with hugs for whoever needs, wants or could do with them,
Love and crafty hugs

Afternoon Sue and all Wilsonettes, sorry I am 'late on parade' today, was really busy first thing with various things which I won't bore you with and then went early to my craft group, just had my lunch and thought oh dear I have forgotten Sue's blog, slapped wrist = sorry.

A beautiful card today Sue, all angel cards are a winner with me and this is no exception. I was teaching one of my ladies how to make the shaker card today (she had purchased 2 packets of the treat cups) - she is in very poor health and cannot see very well but she does try, anyway cut out the card for her a some sets of the background panels, then showed her how to put them together, if you had seen her face it really was a picture, she was so pleased with it, so she has gone home to put them together and to cut out some more.....one very happy lady today.

Lynda's crafts - yes I have seen the pads, they have some very nice ones.

Princess Pixie - how is that finger today, and I know you have enjoyed seeing your Mum and Dad again xx

Laine - hope you are feeling a bit better and have you got the tyres pumped up yet, it is never nice when you have to rely on others is it.

June H - hope the stitch removal went OK today and you start to feel much better.

Pat - I agree with the other comments about Sarah's wheelchair, lots of bling, stick on jewels, flowers and anything else she may want, go for it, you will have one very happy little girl on your hands then..............why the flippin eck did they send a white one when she ordered pink....stupid lot.

Elaine and Andrew - As you say take one day at a time, you will get there, yes a long road but think of the outcome at the end and it will all be worth it. Yes the breakfast was yummy. Oh yes I have just read about the fishing contest, well done Andrew xx

Bejay - I hope your head begins to feel better soon

Thank you to everyone for their kind wishes regarding my op - getting nearer and nearer. xx

Sorry if I have forgotten anyone.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Marg - that was lovely of you to send the dies to your daughter in Aussie, I bet she will love them and produce some stunning creations. x

Tina and Mick - pleased that agreement has been reached and yes it is not nice to be in hospital especially as Mick was in for such a long time previously, but as you say they will only keep him in for as long as necessary. Keep up the good work with the calories, sending lots of hugs xx

Pam it is so nice to have you back at the helm, how was it going back to work after your weeks break, I remember that it used to take a couple of days for me to get back into the swing of things. xx

Tina and Peter - fingers crossed that the procedure today goes well, sending lots of hugs xx

Sue, an update on Emily. PTL. The whole family, three little girls, mom and dad, and a whole bunch of stuffed animals left Duke Monday on their way back to Orlando. The doctors have left the central line in and mom is nervous about that, but they are so excited to be going on. It's been a long three months. But what a journey. This little eight year old has taught us how to live in adversity. Your card was such a big hit with everyone who saw it. Mom said when she gets time, that and many other things will be framed and put on a wall. Emily was headed to full-blown leukemia and quick thinking doctors did what was necessary and her parents just trusted God and turned their little girl over to Him and the doctors and nurses at Duke. I just can't thank you enough for sending her a card. But as for this card, I'm in love with it. I like mixing the metallics together and I love your poinsettia. Just wish I could justify buying it. I only have four others. There are so many others of yours I want, like the Nobles sets. All of them. Have a blessed day, Sue followers. Good luck on this card. Myra from Florida

Sue, I loved your demo of this card on Hochanda. I remember someone said on the blog to tell Hochanda we needed you stamping more and lo an behold there you were stamping, brilliant :)
Myra, so glad to hear the update on Emily and her family. Doctors are so clever.
Laine, maybe a Dr's visit is on the cards now you don't want it to settle in.
PP, hope the parental visit is going well and that your hand is healing well.
Thank to those concerned about my mood I am feeling brighter again, it's probably the hormones as I am now on hrt. Yep I am a mess, never mind it could be worse.
I did my version of Sue's card yesterday and I am absolutely chuffed with it even though I don't have anyone to give it to at the moment. I am now working on a kit I got with a magazine and making my first shaker card, I think I will have to get some treat cups. I am so enjoying my crafting just wish I had more stamina.
Take care my special blog buddies.
Sending love n hugs to you all xxx

Good evening lovely sue and her crafty crew!

Just how fortunate are we to have the chance of winning this most beautiful card. After having the benefit of your excellent demo on Hochanda I can fully appreciate the technique and effort that has gone in to making this beauty....I do love it when you stamp, and in this instance it has produced a stunning and eye catching background which subtly enhances the captivating Angel die. How thoughtful of you to produce a card in black, gold and milk, it just so happens that it matches my craft room perfectly and would have a fitting spot above my desk framed for all to appreciate:-) Given it's obvious suitability....not to mention the fact that my Mum sends her love to you after being suitably awed by your shows on Saturday, she's your biggest non crafting fan and it's always good to keep the one with the purse strings on side don't you think?....I feel no one will resent the fact that i am destined to be custodian in this instance:-)
Keeping it short and sweet today, still feeling a tad rough around the edges, didn't even enjoy cake week in the Bake Off tent, shock, horror!
My Hochanda parcel arrived with my poinsettia bundle though which provided a moment of exhilaration and I can't wait to get started on my Christmas cards....when I'm over this sinus thing of course:-(
Off out tomorrow to pick up my new I pad pro with the 12" screen, I'm so excited:-) Think I'll pop into the chemist for some advice whilst I'm there, maybe they could give me something to clear my head, fingers crossed cos I loathe taking antibiotics.
June, tyres still dodgy, waiting for our neighbour to pump them up, feel trapped without it:-( Not long till your op now, my mum is having a cyst on her hip drained on the 12 th and is quite apprehensive , I do hope that you aren't too nervous about your procedure. Sending hugsxxxx
P, what a lovely idea to take Neenah to see your friend, I would have loved that when I spent long periods in hospital, animal therapy really helps an in patient deal with the loneliness and isolation, especially if they have pets at home that they can't see.
Elaine, well done Andrew, fisherman extraordinaire:-), hope his son wasn't too disappointed though, great distraction for them both though.
This was meant to be short so I'll sign off now wishing all the best to my blog besties, thanks for the well wishes, they're much appreciatedxxxx

Crafty hugs

Hi Sue. This is a gorgeous card. I saw you demo this on hochanda and i had also recorded all your shows so i hope you dont mind but i loved this card so much that i made a couple of them. One in the colours you have used and another one in silver, black and white and they both turned out beautifully. You are a true inspiration and a very generous lady to gives these stunning creations away. I have been a very lucky lady and won one of your Wednesday giveaways and i also won last years Orphan cards as you can imagine i did a little happy dance when i seen my name on your blog but when i recieved my parcels and opened them up i felt like the luckiest woman in the world and they now have pride of place hanging in my little craft room. So i hope you dont think i am been awful but please dont put my name forward for this card and let someone else have the pleasure of winning this beauty. Take care Sue.
Best Wishes.

An ABSOLUTELY stunning card today Sue. So many clever things you've done in it. Love using embossing powder and mica to create a softer finish so that it's not too overwhelming. You're so brilliant with all the new things you do.
