Christmas Double Days

Hi bloggers!  This is my one of my favourite angels cards, I just love the colour combo.  I started by embossing a square of milk card using the Star Swirls embossing folder.  I rubbed Enchanted Gold gilding wax over the top of it for a subtle shine and matted it with a thin black mat.  Next I cut four of the Bright Star Adornment in milk and attached the edges to the four edges of the background piece.  I added mounting foam to the back and attached it in a diamond orientation to a larger piece of milk card, also matted in black.  I cut the 2016 Angel in both milk and black card.  I offset the black as a shadow and then used the die to lightly emboss the shape on to milk card which was covered with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I hand cut it and attached it to the angel and then gllittered it with Diamond Sprinkles to create a solid background for her.  I added her to the centre of my background with mounting foam.  I completed the card with milk and black mats.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

For card number two, I cut the Mini Poinsettia background in white using just the outer decorative cutting die in the set.  I backed it in white and added mounting foam to the back.  I cut the centre section of the die in white and added a sticky adhesive sheet to the back of it.  I gilded the open areas on the front with Red Blaze gilding flakes and added a piece of white card to the back and cut the centre of it out.  I added mounting foam to raise it and added it over another piece of gilded card.  I cut two of the Happy Christmas die in white and stacked them and glued them into the opening.  I made two poinsettias that I glittered with Iced Snow and added them in opposite corners.  I cut white Holly Branches as accents and used pieces of gold metallic lynx as accents with them.  The card was completed with a white on white mat and PVA glue dots around the edge.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous cards Sue, love them. Impossible to choose.
June hope the clips came out okay and that you are feeling more comfortable today. Each day will be a bit closer to your goal of a healthy new knee.
Elaine, good news that Andrew is eating better, he will soon put weight on now and regain his strength.
Tina, I'm sorry Peters leg is still swollen, bound to be a worry but with rest and your care he will soon be better. Your GP sounds a gem.
Sharon, I know it's boring, I had 15 weeks of doing what you are doing a couple of years ago, but it will be worth it when you are better, so hang in there.
Big hugs for Emily and Sarah, two very brave little girls and their grandmas who keep us updated on their progress.
Hugs to all our missing friends, Cheryl, Tina and Mick, and especially our poorly friends, Lorraine, PP, Lynda, Laine and Mum, Maria,Betty, Wheeley and Billy.

Morning Sue, '6am Pam' 🌼 I've never been an 'angel' person, but I have to say that since you have been releasing your wonderful dies, this has to be the nicest, prettiest festive angel of the angel collection so far. The shadow behind is just enough to show her elegant beauty, so yes Sue I really like your first festive card. Number two has the winning streak for me, it really has that festive look with the gorgeous splash of colour for the background and your signature sugared flowers, both beautiful cards, and as our Sam frequently says "thank you for all the work you do to help us with your magnificent cards" without your morning inspiration I know a lot of us would be stuck for ideas, I get so much brain drain this time of year especially when I know I will pull out last year's cards and think "no wonder this pile of doodoo didn't sell" and need to make a whole bunch more to replace those that don't make the grade for market ! So to be able to pin your inspiration for my Sue Wilson board from your lovely daily blog gives me that kick up the booty I need, it's the next best thing to having you held hostage in my craft room holding my hand to help me get through booboo after booboo lol. Andy is tiling part of the kitchen at the moment ( not now he's at the park with madam) lol but I've said to him if all else fails think like a crafter - we have flowers and butterflies to cover our booboo's so he called me a bodge it and dodge it crafter !!! how dare he lol you'll never find a booboo behind any of my flowers (believe that and you'll believe the world is square) so I'm looking forward to seeing flowers and foliage peeking out of the tiles in the kitchen lol..... different I suppose 😁
So the text has come through from the park to say my peace will be shattered any time now, so here comes my daily hug, and thank you for two gorgeous works of true inspiration this morning xxx

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, 2 beautiful cards today, I love the angel and have made quite a few cards with her. Card no. 2 is amazing with the flakes in the background.

42 staples removed yesterday, boy did they hurt but at last they are out, just thankful that the internal stitches are desolvable. It is a bit easier without all the pulling. Still leaking a little bit but they will continue to monitor it for a while.

Sending hugs to everyone, you know who you are xxx

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs June Smith xxx

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,

Beautiful card as always from you Sue. Love the angel although she is not in my collection yet.

I have been extremely busy since my return from the USA.
first was the Craft4crafters Show at the Bath & West showground where I was totally bowled over admiring all the older crafts. Quilting, lace making, felting, crochet and knitting. Such wonderful creations those lovely ladies have made. One was a lion and baby lamb cuddled up together. All done in wool and the 3D effect was stupendous. I felt as though the lion was coming out of the frame to me. Awesome!
From the show I have treated myself to a bargain priced embroidery/quilting machine.
It is coming on Monday so I will now start the pillow/cushion cases for all my grandchildren made with Pete's shirts. I shall embroider his name on them too and then they can snuggle up to granddad whenever they want to.
Then I took a 4 day weekend trip to Newquay in Cornwall to help celebrate my friend's 75th birthday. The next weekend took some of my immediate family and myself to Lichfield for my niece's wedding. Her little daughter (she looked so pretty in her little dress) came into the room first with one of the older bridesmaids, ran up to her Dad, shouting 'Hello daddy, BOO!' It brought quite a chuckle and a few 'aaaah's , from us all.
This Saturday I shall be attending a 21st birthday party but will forego the clubbing later on. Not my scene these days, I can remember what fun we used to have going out for the weekend clutching some of our hard earned wages and the excitement when we had our first over 25's nightclub in Bridgwater. Nowadays it seems the youngsters are only interested in, who is going to get the drunkest?, fighting and swearing all night long instead of using the English they might have been taught at school. That is now showing my age... hahaha

I'm playing catch up with all the comments for our poorly ladies, Lynda, Maria, Lorraine, Laine & her mother, June, Wheely, Betty & Billy. So many in need of the healing thoughts and gentle hugs coming your way, especially Elaine & Andrew, Tina & Pete. I hope your days becomes kinder to you.

Love & hugs
Cheryl xxx
