Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello crafters!  Today's card giveaway is a milk and blush coloured little number.  The blush is so very pale that it is a bit hard to see in my pics, but it does give the card a very vintage feel, especially when used with the milk card.  I cut the Portuguese Background out of blush card twice, leaving a narrow border around both of them.  Next I cut both of them in a 3/4  and 1/4 split, then put the two 3/4 sides together to create a larger background for my card.  I added mounting foam and raised it over a milk card piece.  Next I cut just the inside section of the Portuguese Background out of milk card.  I backed it with blush card and cut the centre of both pieces together.  I stamped my sentiment and covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet and coated it with Diamond Sprinkles.  I mounted the centre section over it with mounting foam to raise it, giving the sentiment a recessed look.  I finished the card with Perfect Peonies Complete petals cut out of milk card.  I used the Dandelion Clocks as centres cut from blush card and finished each flower with a cream flatback pearl centre. I seated the largest flower on a chalk seam binding messy bow and added two matching stick pins as accents. The remaining flowers were dusted around the card.   I added cream flatback pearls to the corners and two in the centre to cover my cut background die lines.  I completed the card with my usual pierced edge and a blush mat and final wider milk coloured mat.   The finished dimensions are 7 3/4"  x  8" in size. Please leave me a comment to be included in the drawing to win this card.  The winner will be drawn and announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue. This beautiful card is a great change from your last two post's as they were very dramatic and opulent looking this one has a delicate and vintage look to it. Would never have thought to put milk and blush together but they look lovely. The layout is gorgeous and then you have finished it off with the flower's they look beautiful with the clock face's as centre piece's and stunning stick pin's, and it was you who got me addicted to the stick pin's and i was so pleased you brought the whole collection to c&c, hope to see them back again soon. Hope you are having a great time with your mom, family and friend's.
Take care everyone.
Best Wishes.

Morning Sue
A very delicate and very feminine gift this morning. Your colour palette is so delicate and just gives the right hint to enhance your beautiful dies which as always have done all the hard work for you.
Today's gift also have a beautiful vintage feel in fact a lovely Victorian feel and any lady would love to receive such a gift on her special day.

Had a very fruitful day yesterday at Market. As always in August there are far too many people and it was so hot but we managed to make a few purchases. We will get November's market in when next we're here.

Have to knuckle down today and make a couple of bday cards which are needed for the beginning of Sept. I've already got the first line of washing out so a good start.

To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone pleased take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Good morning Sue. I was intrigued by the photo of this card then very impressed to read how you had cut the Portuguese background die and put it back together to create the extended layers, ingenious!! I don't know how you do it Sue but thank you so much for sharing your amazing ideas with us.x

Steph Cotterill said...

Hi Sue. I used these colour's together for a belated birthday card last week but had to add just a tiny hint of raspberry just to give it a slight lift because as you say these two colour's are so subtle, so delicate especially the blush pink. I used the corner of the elegant laced edger just beneath the lattice arched adornment in raspberry to break it up slightly, but for a delicate, soothing type of card these colour's couldn't be better. The whole card is just so romantic Sue, but if Id counted my life by tear's id have gone round the block twice or more, id be well into my 100's by now ! Lol.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to receive a W.O.W (Wonder Of Wilson)
Have a wonderful day Sue.
Love to those friends who are special.

The colour, the flowers, the subtle sparkle, the pearls, the bow. Perfection in card form. I know I've said it before but I am amazed at all the different ideas and twists you come up with and then you are generous to share with us mere mortals. Thank you again and again for your overwhelming kindness which is such an inspiration to so many.

I have just managed to hang some washing out - for the first time in a while. An achievement which brought a smile to my face - small pleasures! Slowly but surely trying to get back into routine. Very twitchy fingers as have not been near my crafty stash for about 2 weeks. Going cold turkey like that is not an enjoyable experience. I hope to rectify this situation over the next few days.
Still not had a chance to go back over missed comments on the blog that were posted whilst I was absent. Brain fog is restricting the concentration levels somewhat and I think it might be wise to concentrate on the present and give current comments my undivided attention. So as of now that's the plan of action.

Lorraine - are you out on a hot date with your credit card? x
Andrea - fru fru stuff - love it - know just what you mean - my attempts are never terribly successful - I will persevere x
Deb C - yes you'll miss us - you think of us whilst sunning yourself and drinking your drink of choice and relaxing - yeh right, miss us??!!

Everyone else - sending big warm hugs - apologies for not being up to date with all news but going to try and keep on top of things for the foreseeable.

Top of the morning to you dear Sue and the lovely Wilsonettes!

How much do I love today's card? It is so understated and elegant and the colour choice is a favourite of mine. I so wish that I had the Portugese Collection- maybe they will feature in your next shows...hint,hint! Until then I will be forced to improvise but I am loving the composition and it is giving me plenty of ideas for the future. How do you manage to come up with such widely differing styles is a mystery to me Sue, but Thankyou for helping us to always think outside the boxxxx
Mr Postie was welcomed with open arms this morning, at least he was until I discovered that I had ordered the open peony petal instead of the full petal!...oh dear, that means that I will have to engineer another supervised meeting with our credit card to remedy the situation, maybe some Christmas dies will weave their way into my basket too:-) oh well, I guess my sponsor at the Sue Wilson Addicts Association(SWAA) will be disappointed in me yet again, I'm a lost cause! Just spied the new Platinum Spellbinders Machine too that colour coordinates with my craft room nicely, it's due out in Oct so here's hoping Santa is delivering early this year....
Darcey is excelling herself at the moment, despite my careful cajoling at midnight with her prawns in hand she refused to come home until 1.45am, I think she took exception to the fact that they were value prawns thus sub standard to her usual M&S variety-I have raised a diva and only have myself to blame.
Yvonne, I don't know whose stalking who here but we seem to be posting within minutes of each other lately. Can I just say that it is lovely to have your cheeky barbs back full throttle , I have missed them and you lately. And with debs and Beth away sunning themselves in warmer climes we only have each other to keep BCAS ticking over in the meantime. I haven't had much luck in your absence, even though I tried to engineer a card for you on your sick bed so I am at a loss as to where to go from here:-( Any ideas?
Debs, none of us are fooled by your platitudes, miss us? I seriously doubt that we will even enter your mind during your fortnight lounging in the sun with a cocktail in hand, so nice try:-) Have a great flight my dearxxxx
Warmest hugs to all the fab Wilsonettes in need of a pick me up, have a lovely day peoplexxxx

Love and crafty hugs,

Laine1972xxxxxxx

Hi Sue

Very very prety card, the dandelion clock centres are genius. I very much liked yesterdays card too.

Molly, such wonderful news about Grandad. I read your past two days' comments and I hope Dad managed to sort the flash issue so you could watch Sues video, hugs for you and your family and I have crossed some fingers and toes that Grandad doesn't feel too ill during chemo xxx

Pat L, so sorry little Sarah needs another op. Hoping and praying she's not in too much pain and that the doctors at GOSH can sort things out for her. Sending her hugs and birthday wishes

Yvonne, I'm so glad you feel a little stronger, don't rush it and hope you continue to feel more energised each day

I'm hoping I'll be ok to go to my Grandads birthday lunch on Sunday. On a sofa bed as Mr W having respite today and i need to be near Billy. Pain etc getting worse, not better which is frustrating , fell asleep while my brother was here taking care of things! How anti social of me! suffering craft withdrawal too, luckily a Sue fix helps! Tired again so a quick trip to John and Julias blogs before I turn in. Plan to be back tomorrow but if not you know why so don't worry.

Hugs to everyone, many extra hugs if you're ill, in treatment, recovering or in pain. Wishing you all a bright and happy Thursday
