Christmas Double Day

Hello bloggers!  Today's Christmas double day has two cards that are more traditional in their styling.  First up is the Dove of Peace card.  I started by cutting the Snowflakes out of Vintage silver card. I glued them all over the background of a piece of coconut white card.  Next I sprayed the entire background with Permanent spray adhesive and coated it with Diamond Sprinkles for a bit of bling.  Next I cut the Dove of Peace twice out of coconut white card and one more time out of vintage silver card.  I glued the two white doves together except their wings, which I kept apart and shaped them a bit.  I added the silver dove slightly offset and below them as a shadow.  I cut the Peace word in silver and glued it below the dove.  I added them to a small square of white card that I matted with a thin silver mat.  I completed the card with a white paper pierced mat layer, a thin silver mat and a wider white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  7 1/2" in size. Scroll down for card
number two.

Card number two is a white on white Christmas card which uses some of my non Christmas die designs as well as the Festive collection.  I started with the background and embossed it with the Frosty Swirls embossing folder for some texture.  Next I cut four of the corners from the Snowflake border, corner tag die set and glued them into the corners on a slightly smaller piece of white card.  I stamped my sentiment then covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet, then coated it with Diamond Sprinkles.  I created a frame for it using the inside dies from the Montreal and the Toronto die set and added mounting foam to raise it over my sentiment.  I cut the Montreal die in white as a backing for my framed sentiment, using the centre of the Toronto die on the inside.  I glued the sentiment on top and added the entire piece to the centre of the card.  I finished it with a pierced white layer and a wider white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/4"  in size.  I hope you see something here you like!  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, two really beautiful cards today, the dove of peace was the first of the new collection that I bought and I am so pleased I did, I will try it with the non glued wings, good idea. The second card using the festive and normal dies is fabulous, sometimes there is too much Christmas on cards but this way it is toned down and not detracting from the occasion at all, love them.

Enjoy Friday everyone, stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Morning Sue
I cannot believe we're at a Friday again!! Where are the weeks going!!!!
I love both of today's gifts but have to say that I prefer your second gift.
White/white is always a winner with me and 'silent night' is also my all time favourite of the Carols so it was quite easy.
Once again you have shown how all your dies intermingle and of course do all the hard work required of them.

So as it's Friday it's market day and this week we're back to just the two of us as our visitors left midweek. So peace and quite has been established once again.

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Hi Sue from a sunny Lancashire.
You have catered for the lover's of plain and those that love bling at the festive time of year, but you have also catered for those that like both. If Im in my CAS zone then the first would be the one, but on my more is more day's then id have to pick the second card just for the bling effect alone. Both beautiful cards though.
Spotted two of your festive folder's in our craft shop the other day (ahhh now I know when those two cheeky dies sneaked inbetween my card) it was when I was drewling over those folder's those dinky star's and holly got my attention and as soon as my back was turned, in they popped lol so maybe if I go into our shop again soon the folder's will do the same !
Hope you have a good productive day Sue. Sending hugs to you across the miles.

Top of the morning to you Sue and the lovely Wilsonettes!

Oh happy days! I am feeling decidedly festive this morning with our two gorgeous Christmas offerings. Do not ask me to pick because that would be like picking your favourite child, an impossibility. However, I can tell you what I love about each though. The dove really grabs my attention, I love the wing effect and I will definitely be using this technique when I purchase this beautiful die. All the bling really sets the die off perfectly too. On no. 2 I appreciate the fact that you have incorporated non Christmas dies into the design, it reminds us that we can utilise our other dies in our festive cards too. The white on white is so elegant, I love it!
As I said, I am a happy bunny today cos Mr Postie had brought me some goodies from Julia's website. I said that I would bite the bullet and try some texture paste with the masks so I have bought some along with the delightful sentiments, foundations card, pearl thingys, blending sponges, moulding mat....the list goes on! You've also been using spray adhesive a lot lately Sue, so I invested in some of that too.
Unfortunately, I have a busy day or three this weekend so I won't be playing anytime soon. Today I have an appointment with my friend, a nail technician and I think that I might go for red-Yvonne will approve I am sure, with me it will be more tarty than sophisticated though I guess!:-)hope you're feeling perkier today honey, thinking of you as I get pampered beyond beliefxxxx
Wishing you a safe trip to Cornwall Beth , have a whale of a time frolicking in the sea and sunshinexxx
Have a lovely weekend Sue and all the Wilsonette lovelies, yet again I will offer you my sincere commiserations on losing out to me this week on tomorrow s giveaway....better luck next week:-)

Love and crafty hugs,

Laine1972xxxxx

Thank you for all your inspiration, what would we do without you.

Hi Sue and fellow crafters
Apologies Rolf, I know I do say ladies quite a lot but you are always included in my good wishes. Don't know if we have any other guys on here??
First I have to comment on yesterday's card which was stunning, I've been trying to make one with this noble die but cut the frame from colour rather than white and now the colours don't seem balanced, I'll have to have a play, might need to change round to white on colour instead of colour on white.
Both cards are beautiful today, I love the Dove of Peace and the way it's flying on your card Sue. Love all the festive frosting, just beautiful. Must get some Christmas dies, Lorraine, you're not the only one, I can't believe I've resisted, though having no pocket money left might have something to do with it.
Molly, I'm right there with you on getting the plates upside down, I've got cut marks on my base plate too, I think you'll find most of us have so don't worry about it sweetheart, bet your nan has too ;-) Hugs to you all xx
Steph & Alimecca those naughty dies stowing away and sneeking home with you, my die basket has suffered the same thing in the not so distant past.
Theresa W, I love it, me too, my messy craftroom is a bit like my wardrobe, things sit there for a little while and when hubby asks "I've had them for ages"
Theresa G, belated happy 60th, hope you had a great time.
Norah, nice to see you back, sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother In Law, hope the little fella Harry & Kirsten are doing well
Lynda, sending a big hello, Harry will be cruising the furniture in no time now, then the fun starts when you have to chase him round. Sending hugs x
Lorraine, your cream tea sounded wonderful, Scotland is such a beautiful part of the world.
Beth, I hope you, your hubby and your four legged friends have a wonderful time in Cornwall. We keep talking about going away in the UK next year and taking our Suzie with us, getting her on a beach and letting her run in the sea. I hope the sea air does you all the world of good.
Yvonne, hope you're recovering, praying it's nothing serious, been missing you hun and probably won't be around when you get back online. Sending love and hugs xx
Will pop by when I can but not sure how many more times I will get on the blog for a while, busy packing for the family and getting everything ready to go on holiday next week, we're off to Portugal for 2 weeks of chilling, resting, recharging, ah bliss. Will see if I can get internet while I'm there but comments will be short and sweet.
Love & blessings everyone - Deb C xx

Good evening Sue and the fabulous Wilsonettes,
We'll both cards are so beautiful but the second one is my favourite as it is so beautiful in the White the embossing folder that you have used is so pretty and just makes the card stunning. Thank you Sue for today's double decker of beauty to delight and fill us with renewed eagerness. You give us such a wealth of inspiration with your beautiful works of art and make so many of us day with each new addition that you give us the pleasure of.
Well we have had a lovely day here at Costa de Glenochil with the sun shining as best as it could here but it's on days like this that my beautiful hills come into there own showing their beauty off spectacularly with all its beautiful colours coming out. Oh how I love the natural beauty that surrounds us each day between the beautiful patterns that the clouds take on the differing colours of the fields that split up by the hedgerow that make the countryside look like a patchwork quilt. Seeing and hearing the different song birds as they perch on the rooftops or the trees and bushes and seeing such beauty take flight. I love living in our green and pleasant land with all the beauty that I have around me just a few steps from my door. Right now that i am back on this earth again I will wish you all a good night and wait and see what beauty tomorrow brings to my eyes.
Love and crafty hugs Angels
Norah (Glenochil )

WOW white on white Cards- that Dove of Peace die is absolutely striking. What a great way to use snowflake dies for a background too. Love the diamond sprinkles over the sentiment and those rich textures. Also totally LOVIN' the new Holiday themed embossing FOLDERS. WOW!!
