Hi bloggers! Every once in awhile I just have to unleash my inner grunge and allow it to go free. Today's card was just such an adventure. I know it may not appeal to everyone, but it came out with a soft shabby chic feel to it in real life and I was just so pleased with it. Did a little happy dance in fact! LOL Give it a chance as I think it will grow on you! I started by covering a piece of milk card with some picket fence, tea dye and Tattered Rose ink in the form of a wash. I cut the piece into three sections and distressed the edges and mounted them on foam. Next I glued a piece of cheesecloth (from the hardware store) on to the background. I flicked a white paint pen at it to add more distress. I stamped the Shaded Peony on some card from my stash (a sort of strawberry colour and cut them out and created several different sized flowers. I spritzed them with water and crumpled them a bit too. The Dandelion Clocks were used for the flower centre. I cut several of the stemmed Dandelion clocks in different colours and arranged them around my flowers with some Maidenhair Fern bits added too. Finally I cut the Vertical Thanks in milk card and backed the letters with Taupe card, added mounting foam and mounted it to the right side of the card with another flower. I finished off with my mats and layers of milk card and taupe card, but distressed the edges of all of them. The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8" in size. Has it grown on you yet? LOL All for now, Sue x

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 209 of 209This is so different from your usual style but it's lovely. I would want to put this card in a frame and hang it on the wall. If I try anything like this I just end up with a mess! !!
I've been unable to get a signal since Saturday so I've got a bit of catching up to do.
Take care everyone.

Hi Sue,
This is so 'not you' in a card and it has turned out fantastic. I think some times it does our 'inner soul' good to do something that we normally wouldn't do.

We have to think of a new name for the style of Sue Wilson meets grunge/shabby chic because the combo is quite wonderful & unique! I love it all. Happy dances all around! Rebecca in Colorado
Now that's an amazing way to use the dandelion clocks! WOWZERS!! Love the rich colors and the fabulous grungy-but gentle shabby look!
