Die Re-registration Technique

Hi bloggers!  Today's video shows a really great technique that can be used time and time again with all of your dies.  I have kept the card very simple for the purposes of the video, but you can easily see how you can expand on this idea with multiple colours and more detailed dies to add infinite possibilities to your creations.

Buy from Joanna Sheen

A quick note also, Julia Watts has shows on Create and Craft TV today at 10am and 3pm today with new Couture Creations dies and folders.  Be sure to tune in to see her dynamic demonstrations!

Finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue, Pam and all Wilsonettes, I have just watched the video, you make it look so easy. I have used the technique (filling in I call it) on a grandfather clock, it had loads of little fiddly bits but I did it and it is well worth the effort, however I also love the way you have done it, personally I don't think that you need any more of the filling in bits because this looks so elegant, I am definitely going to have a go at this one. I am so grateful for all the video's and demos, tips and techniques that you share with us Sue, a really big thank you. Stay safe, healthy and happy everyone. hugs June Smith xxx PS will have to tape Julie's show and watch later. xx

Hi Sue, morning Wilsonettes from a warm sunny Bolton, seems like Summer is having its second flush of life, which means I feel guilty about going into my own little craft world when its so nice outside, but we have a compromise - I craft and work in my orders of a morning, then health permitting I take an hour or two out of my craft world and join Mr L plus hound for 'family' time in the country park ! I have to try and make the most of these warm days as Im prisoner in my home for long enough when the cold sets in ! But that gives me plenty of crafting time without feeling the guilt : )

What a lovely sentiment on todays card and its sent back to you Sue and my special friends.
Wow, so many wonderful new idea's for me to think about since finding you Sue, thank you. I do save bits off dies that I think may come in useful such as the tiny hearts from the Italian decorative frame set, in fact I used a few on an engagement card yesterday just to add a tiny bit of interest on a small piece of ribbon, but I would never think of using 'left overs' like this, what a lovely idea. Thank you for another lovely informative video, I look forward to opening the Particraft door every morning, but to be able to watch you every Tuesday and Thursday just makes my week so much better, and as you are so great at showing us new idea's and explaining them so well maybe we should have a Sue Wilson craft channel ! That sounds SO selfish, as if you have time to stop with all you do without your own craft channel !!! Forgive me : )
So now I have a use for all my tiny little storage boxes, they will be just perfect for my die bits ( I knew I hadn't bought them cuz they looked cute) lol
To any Wilsonettes celebrating today, have a lovely day.
To my dear friends that have woken feeling low or feel the day will be a struggle, take your time and dont expect to much from yourself. Just 1 little goal acheived does more for confidence than failing 2 !
Have a lovely day Sue whatever your day brings.
Sending many hugs.
Love you.

Good morning Sue & Blog Friends,
Brilliant video Sue, so very informative, simple, yet so effective, I loved the card, dies and design! A real winner Sue, thank you xxxx
Pat have a great holiday, look forward to your stories on your return! Xxxx
Mrs B, I will stop if you do (stressing), deal? Meet up soon!
I went to physio yesterday, I hate going back through the whole history of what happened, I was an emotional wreck when I came out, he has promised me so much, but we will see, he wants me to consider accupuncture, I am a bit of a needle freak though, I hate them, has anyone had it done, was it successful?
I just feel that I have been left since 2009 disabled &unable to use stairs, walk unaided more than a few steps and in an incredible amount of pain, I honestly don't think that anyone can make too much of a difference now, the thing theses professionals don't understand is that they give you false hope that they can change your life for the better, you then hang on to that hope with everything you've got, in reality nothing changes and you are left, devastated, that once again you have been let down, to me personally it feels like each of the the huge 'let downs' I have been through is a grieving process, you have allowed yourself to believe that your life will get better, walking unaided maybe a possibility, being in less constant pain maybe a possibility, and it doesn't happen, it is the most devastating feeling in the world! Sorry for that little rant, it's just letting a little of the frustration out!
Anyway, I am going to go to my craft room, that is a guaranteed form of therapy!
Big hugs to all of you wonderful kind, caring, friends,
Sandra xxxxxx

Hi Sue,
Another lovely card today. As others have mentioned I used to do this with peel off stickers many years ago! Sometimes using two different colours and alternating them. Never looked as good as this though - after all they were still shiny rather tacky stickers! Great idea! Will try!

Brenda - you're a lovely caring lady! Thank you. I am better now - headache gone completely and kitchen - apart from decoration is finished. Just filling cupboards and getting rid of the dust which has gone everywhere! Lampshades in bedrooms upstairs were covered in this fine dust and all the doors were closed.
June - (yorkielass) thanks to you also - much appreciated. It's nice to be able to tell my friends here when I get stressed as it helps!
Pam - thanks so much! After I'd done it I was worried but it really is a marvellous organisation and they have worked absolute wonders with Robbie and of course they had an apt pupil! Also the family support is terrific too. Hope the swelling going down on your foot and go easy on the crutches.
Sandra - so sorry you had a tough day yesterday. Never had acupuncture so can't help there. Wish I could. Hope yesterday hasn't completely worn you out. Sending hugs.
Well, must stop , too long winded today as my Dad would have said!
Love to Sue and Mum, Steph, Norah, Sheila, Lindsay , Lynne, Lynda, Tres - still missing you. Hope you ok! ,

I already use any 'waste' bits that look like corners but have never tried in-filling like this (other than with peel-offs in the dim and distant past) so now I will have to re-think every time I cut something!
I was out earlier and recorded Julia's show so will watch it shortly when I have my lunch. Hope there isn't too much I want to buy as I am on holiday in a couple of weeks and need to keep some spending money :-)

Good morning Sue and fabulous Wilsonettes,
Oh Sue this has sent my mind whirling this morning i can tell you. With the soft gold that you have used i made me think of the 3 colours of gold and how they would look in your beautiful card because as you say it would be the waste and your would still have the beautiful borders as well to use at a later date. I love the soft subtleness of this card and the tiniest bit of colour just makes it elegent.
Margaret(corgi owner), what a difference it makes to your confidence if you go somewhere new and the people are friendly from the start. I hope she thoroughly enjoys her new role and well done to her for getting that next rung up on her career.
Sorry not a good day, see you all tomorrow,

Sandra, Poor you, you sound so frustrated I wish we could ease your pain. Have you considered trying a chiropractor? I had some issues a few years ago couldn't lay on my left side, raise my left arm above my head, as a passenger in a car couldn't reach out to close the door - quite a few debilitating issues. The relief I got - even after my first session was truly amazing, it was painless, just gentle manipulation, yes had to pay but it was well worth every penny.

Sending crafty hugs to all you lovely ladies and special one for our Sue.

Hi Sue, what a gorgeous creation love it. I have to say that the soft gold card has to be one of my favourite to use, it adds elegance to any card. Lol lynne m x x x

Well after the blasted frog incident was hoping yesterday would be a quieter day , not too bad except Tilly followed me around like a lost sheep. After lunch decided poochies could have 40 winks while I caught up on my reading. Tilly jumped up onto the settee laid right against me with her head on my chest looking up at me. Tilly I said I want to read go to sleep , she nudged even closer to me. Do you want me to read you a story I said ( total insanity thats what I have come to) so I proceeded to read a light hearted story to poochies as I didn't want to give them nightmares by reading one of my paranormal books!!!!!! The little b's drifted off to sleep but as soon as I stopped reading tgeir eyes opened so back to the reading. So pleased there are no cameras in my house recording the lunacy I get up to.

Norah - take it easy today flower, my two take after me for being a tomboy I was always to be found hanging upside down in trees. Poochies couldn't be ladies if they tried no matter how many times hubby calls them his little princesses x x x

Lindsay, June & Lynn, Karen, Alison, Pam, Frances, Maureen, Maria, Margaret CO, Tres, Lynda, Steph, Julie, Sandra, Mrs B,
Barbara & Ben, Myra, Sheila ( anyone I have missed I apologise)
Lol and huge hugs from little princesses x x x

Sandra. So sad to read all you are going through and what you have been through. Life can seem very cruel some days. I like Lyndi have had accupuncture and I will go with what she said, the 'pins' are so very fine, unlike the needles people think of to inject with, which is why Ive called them pins. It really IS painless, honest ( I wouldn't tell you any fibs ) promise. As far as it working, all I can say is that we are all different and respond to things differently, even to something as simple as paracetamol, we all can have different amounts of relief from it. I think its worth trying especially as its painless, and if you dont it may be one of those things where you will always wonder about. At least if you do go ahead it will be another form of treatment that you have tried. I hope our replies have helped a little. It doesn't hurt, its quick and easy, and if it helps then that's just great. If I had a magic wand, Id take all your pain and troubles from you.
Take care.

Sandra, I had a spinal-cord stimulate fitted inside me, it's a bad operation to go through, but I can walk, and I'm in control of the pain, I can turn it up and turn it down, I have 18 wires down my spine inside and then A battery pack in my bum, look it up, you never know, I've had mine in for 5 years hugs Julie xx can someone tell Sandra to read this please, i'll do it again tomorrow xxx

Sandra, please give acupuncture a try , it has worked wonders for me twice, first time for frozen shoulder and after 3 treatments the difference was amazing and after seven sessions I had no pain and recently I had suffered with a pain deep in the buttock area for eighteen months ( I had to go on the waiting list for 10 months for the acupuncture ) but after five sessions I have no pain, I could still walk etc but could only garden for 20 mins at most and just take short walks. It doesn't take long and is painless.
Myra P so glad to hear you are getting back to normal and I'm sure your kitchen looks wonderful, it does cause such a mess but after it's all cleared up , you can sit back and admire it!
Hope you feel better tomorrow Norah.
Hugs to all xo

Sandra, you seem so down today, please don't feel bad about ranting to us, we are all happy to listen and help where possible. I too, like the others would say try the acupuncture, you really do not have anything to lose and it may work for you. I had the treatment for very bad migraine and also to stablise a heart condition (couldn't believe that would work) but it did, as Steph says, the needles/pins are so fine you really cannot feel them and once in place, they just twiddle them, totally painless.
Go on hun, you have endured so much, give it a try. Hugs to you xx

Hi Sue

I think this is like what I call die jigsaws! Cutting the die in 2 different colours and putting the cut of one colour with the waste from another. I will watch the video later.

Sorry I haven't been commenting but I was so shattered after Alexs birthday and now I have to find new staff and talk to hospitals and GP about whether nerve blocks were appropriate etc so I may be a bit patchy over next few weeks. Been on phone and on computer a couple of hrs a day and it's a bit much but has to be done!

Sandra, you've been through lots in a short time, try acupuncture, the needles are a the width of a hair. I've seen it work on Mr W but not on me. Try it, try anything they offer.

Special hugs to all my Wilsonette friends especially those in pain. I hope I have a chance to talk much more soon.

Love T xxx

Hi Sue thank you for a great demonstration today and a very pretty card. The soft gold is one of my favourites and the paper piecing looks great. Have a good day. Love Diane G xxx

Maureen thank you for your comment yes Edinburgh ans aberdeen universities were both really good, we flew home today (1 hour 10 minutes from one end of the country to another not bad!) and Emma is back at college tomorrow. She has an email from one of the departments regarding predicted grades based on AS results which sound promising for applications to both universities so looks like we may be seeing more of Scotland over the years. A few more to look at before final decisions though and lots of hard work. Thank you for thinking of us xxx
Sandra thinking of you, try the acupuncture, you've got nothing to loose ( not tried it myself but would give it a go if it might help). Xxx
Lynne can just see you reading to the fur babies you did make me laugh and the frog story has me in stitches! Xxx

Helloooo Sue and the Wilsonettes! Great video Sue and the card is absolutely gorgeous! It makes such a difference just adding adding those bits of colour to make it stand out. It looks soooo elegant x Guess what? I have quite a few bits in a pot that I've saved from die cuts. They are just too good to throw away and can be easily used as a small die/tag/corner feature. Like everything else though I will have to get around to it,concentrate and use them! Lol! "Thank you" Sue for all the great videos that you do for us. We appreciate them so much xx Sending you and your family love and hugs xx Also sending love and hugs to Lynne, Pam, Tina, Lynda, Yorkielass, Norah, Wheelybad and all our Wilsonettes who need a love and a hug xx Sandra, I've had accupunture hunni and there is no pain to it at all.
