Thinking Of You

Hello bloggers!  I have to admit that I have been on a kick recently to try and use up my left over background pieces and other card scraps.  So this card is a perfect example of my endeavours (but you will see more along the way!).  I started with a piece of white card as the background and cut the Thinking Of You sentiment in black and added it to a white shadow backing, then glued it to the top of the card.  Next I selected several colours of pieces of pixied card, none of which were really large enough to use as a background.  I cut them into 1/2" strips.  I covered a piece of black card with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I laid each of the strips of card down with a small gap between them.  I used Black Onyx glitter on the remaining exposed adhesive.  Next I crosscut the piece so it made small  1/2" squares.  I offset each row on another piece of card to create the section that I attached to this card.  I cut the Button Flower foliage floral panel in white then nipped the leaves away from the outer frame.  I attached it to the left of the multi square panel as an accent.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layrs.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4"  x  8 3/4"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

Good Morning Sue and all.
What can I say that hasn't already been said this morning. Only a few days ago my Son took me from this care Unit to my house and believe me, my craft Room could almost be mistaken for a SCRAP ROOM.
I filled a white scrap bag which no doubt will be getting collected round about now. I'm surprised that the room still has lots of scrap so I could bring it here and do some paper piecing couldn't I?
Anyway Sue, yours is Unique, Beautiful, Gorgeous, Lovely etc.etc.etc.
Thank you.
Marie P.

Hi Sue, this card is amazing. The squares really look like ceramic tiles and make a beautiful panel. I love that you have used just the leaves from the Buttercup panel, it doesn't need anything else.
