Hi there my crafty friends! I have a cute retirement card to share today. I embossed a piece of white card with the
Stripes embossing folder for a textured background. I cut the
Hawaiian Shirt die out of some decorative paper from my craft stash. I cut the die again out of raspberry card and cut away the collar and button strip and glued it onto the decorative paper. I added a pink pocket with a light pink hibiscus in it to match. I cut the backing piece out of both white and black card. I glued the shirt to the white piece then added the black as an offset shadow. I added the shirt with mounting foam at an angle in the middle of the card. I cut the
Happy Retirement sentiment in black and glued it to the lower corner of the card. Using the extra dies from the set, I added a pina colada glass with an umbrella (is it just me that sees this in my future retirement someday? LOL) and some tropical leaves and flowers as fun accents. The card was completed with white and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 7 3/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

I could imagine this as part of my retirement IF I could spend it somewhere nice and warm, a nice constant comfortable warmth, but it really doesn't feel the same here up north lol I can't even get out to plant my polyanthus it's too cold and painful for me, I'm hoping for a nice warm spring and warmer summer.
It's lovely to start the day with lots of colour and hope.

A great fun post. Love the hawaiian shirt die and think it is quickly becoming a favourite. Its a great way to use up that paper stash that you don't know what to do with, because with this type of shirt anything goes!!!!

Hi Sue and everyone, ohh I love todays card so much. This shirt set is definitely one of my favourites ive seen lately and I will have to get it in the future. Its so versatile and I love how you've made it a hawaiian shirt, that patterned paper is just fabulous. I even love the little extra dies too. The cocktail glass reminds me of better times and holidays abroad.
Like Steph I honestly don't know why I live in a cold country, I too spend the colder seasons dreaming of warmer weather.

Love this set. The double background/shadow detail really makes it stand out. The patterned paper you used for the shirt is perfect. What a great card for retirement, vacation, or just a nice fellow birthday card.
