Get Well

Hi there my crafty friends!  This is the kind of card I love to make when I have a really cool background and don't want to cover it all up! LOL  This is one of my Pixie Powders backgrounds from my stash.  I used Aqua Lagoon and Golden Mint together, spritzed it with water and let it dry.  Once dry, I embossed it with the Quilted Pillow embossing folder for a nice textural background.  I cut the Cosmos Flowers out of a piece of white card covered with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I glittered all the flowers with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz before assembling them.  I added the flowers to the card in a cluster.  I used the Lace Edged Leaves, Splendid Swirls and the Trailing Ivy dies to add white accents around the flowers.  I cut a Decorative Flag and glued the Get Well sentiment to it.  I cut it out of leftover card from the background.  The card was completed with black and white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4"  x  7 3/4" in size.  All for now,  Sue x

Hi Sue how can anyone be unsure about the beauty of this inspiration. I love how you've used dies from way back in your designing chapter only one fairly newish die and that's the decorative flag, a very pretty mix of old and new. Hope all our overseas family have started their vaccination program and it's all going well. Stay safe keep crafting keep caring xxx

Good morning Sue
Today’s card has definitely got the Wow factor! I don’t blame you not wanting to cover the beautiful background it’s far too pretty. A long time ago when ultra thick embossing powders came out these were the first two colours I bought! Now I’ll have to get them in pixie powders lol! I love it when you mix old with new!
Hugs x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, the colouring with the pixie powders and then quilted is really amazing, so many different variations of colour just in a small square, beautiful. The flowers are all glitzed up, what more can you ask for, love it.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Hi Sue
A lovely card. I love pixied backgrounds, but don’t think I’ve ever used an embossing folder on one so that will be my next thing to try.

Good Morning Sue.
A really fabulous card Sue. I love everything about it.
I have so many embossing folders and rarely use them. I have finally started with the Pixie Powders so will make a plan to sort the embossing. You are a great inspiration.
Have a good day.

Hi Sue
Happy Thursday everyone x
Will you just look at that colour! That is stunning. I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to cover it up. And it is made even more striking by embossing it. I don’t think I have ever embossed one of my Pixied backgrounds - a situation that can easily be rectified with the amount of embossing folders I possess x
Lace edged leaves, splendid swirls and trailing ivy??!! I would never have dreamt of using three together but it works wonders and looks amazing. What a brilliant way to bring all of those older dies out of retirement. The Cosmos flowers are not part of my collection yet. I have seen you use them so much recently and they really are gorgeous. I will have to improvise until I add them to my flower family x
