There's Only One Like You

Hello bloggers!  I thought I would share a sample made with the Star Quilt die set today.  I started by cutting the Star Quilt out of black card first.  I attached it to a piece of white card as a backing.  I cut the die again out of Arctic Blue,  Bluebell card and white card.  I kept all the fall away pieces and pieced them back into the original black card using the Bluebell in the corners and the Arctic Blue in the middle of them.  I cut the Star Quilt again out of black and added it to another piece of white card.  This time, I trimmed around the inner area, making a smaller quilt area.  I paper pieced more Blue Bell card into it and allowed the white from the background to show through.  I added it with foam in the centre.  I cut one more of the Star Quilts in white and clipped it down in size, then added it to the top of the layer to create an interesting design pattern.  I cut a wide stripe of vellum and attached it across the centre and tucked the ends around the back of the quilt.  Using the There's Only One Like You sentiment cut in black, I glued it to the vellum strip.  The card was completed using white, Bluebell and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Mornings Sue. After reading back my comment from yesterday you can tell I obviously wasn't completely fully awake lol so many typos so today my brain seems to be working! There's only ONE of you in the die designing world. This sample in this colour scheme would be brilliant to give the men in our life but change the colours and a fantastic card for someone who isn't one for flowers or pearls. Marie, if I can do the Caught In Crystal technique then believe me when I say anyone can accomplish this delightful background.
Sending Tuesday hugs xxx

Wow what a brilliant card, Sue your inspiration knows no bounds.
I forget the little things like using a strip of velum for the sentiment.

An ideal card for those pesky men! It looks very complex but it sounds as if the dies do the work once you have worked out your colour scheme! Thank you Sue.

Good Morning sue and all
What a fantastic card this morning and such a different style. The star quilt is a fantastic design and gives plenty of choice to being able to play around with colour. The sentiment just finishes the sample of beautifully.

Morning Sue,
Very usual design, don't think I would use it very much so wouldn't buy the die set.

Sue you just amaze me at how you think up these ideas for cards, this looks so complicated but I guess when you follow it step by step it is not....it makes my eyes go funny, but it looks amazing...a great card for a man I think, make him think how it is put together, most unusual, but thank you....luv Ursula xx

Hi Sue, I'm not sure why but this card doesn't appeal to me in the usual way. I can appreciate the complexity of it and all the time taken to do the paper piecing but it just isn't for me, sorry.

Hello Sue. What a really interesting pattern you have created using just one die. I haven't got this one but I am so intrigued by all the possibilities that I have decided this die seriously deserves consideration.
