Just Because

Hello bloggers!  I have an older card to share with you today, but I thought it needed it';s day on the blog, don't you?  I started by cutting the Avery die in white card twice.  I cut them in half and set them aside.  Next I cut the Abigail die in white and backed it with black card.  I cut the centre out to create a frame and then added wisteria card to the back.  I glued the Avery die halves behind the Abigail die arranging them so one stuck out further than the other on each side.  I added the entire piece to a larger piece of white card.  I matted it with wisteria card and a thin black mat showing only on the top and bottom edges.  Next I cut the Just Because shadowed sentiment in black and added a white shadow, then glued it into the centre of the card.  I used some small flowers from the Chloe die which I cut in wisteria card and added them around the sentiment.  the card was completed with white, wisteria and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  9" in size.  All for now Sue x

Good morning Sue. It's a day to sit back and relax after a whirlwind two weeks of frantic card making to catch up with a christmas card order for my lady that has a tradition of handing out her family cards in the first week of December. I was off my feet literally for over 2 weeks that set me right back but the last of the order went out yesterday, plus a new baby card - woohoo.
So I can absolutely sit back and enjoy every bit of inspiration from you now without having the worry of the next design in the back of my mind. It's really lovely to see the earlier dies have their day here where they belong, I think it happens to most of us that we have a new die and we can't wait to use it as often as we can and slowly our 'older' collections get lower and lower down on the 'use list' I keep promising them they'll see daylight soon especially as the majority are gifts or I've saved for months to treat myself but this just shows so much beauty and reminds us that not only we have our new dies that gives us gorgeous results out older collections are equally as beautiful and important to us. What a stunning reminder thank you xxx

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, I certainly do agree with you Sue that these older samples need to be shared, I know that I, like many crafter's, tend to file the old ones away as new ones come on the market, so thank you for this, would like to see more if that is possible.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Morning Sue, thank you for sharing some of the older dies with us. I have many which are older than these and they don't get the attention they deserve.
I do like making 'Just Because' cards for friends and family and this one is so pretty. Hugs xx Pauline

Good Morning Sue.
What a lovely card and I wonder where it has been hiding and for how long. I think I would put one of my favourite sentiments on mine.
Not older,just better'
I really like the Wisteria card as it gives a gentle touch to either white or black.
Have a great day,
Marie P.

Good Morning Sue and all
Beautiful card this morning its lovely to creations from older dies , we some times forget about our older dies. I don't have Abigail die and looking at this morning sample for me thinking if you backed it with gold card it would look like foiling.
Crafty hugs to all , Wendy

Hello Sue, I love the sentiment , it's useful and can mean so much to receive a card with it on. The dies may be older, just like me, but still plenty of life in them. A beautiful card Sue finished with pretty flowers xx

Hi Sue - definitely lovely to see some older dies being used and the black backing really shows off the Abigail die - it almost looks like it has been stamped. Thank you for reminding us to get out our old dies now and again! Sending best wishes

Good Morning Sue. What a lovely fresh card from an older die. I have to admit I was looking through mine the other day to Re create a card I once made. And as I was looking at the dies I kept thinking...oooo that's my favoirite....then another look then...ooo no that's my favourite and so on. So I decided ALL my dies are my favourites...I love them all.Old and new. Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to who needs them this morning. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.

Morning Sue, beautiful card and so nice to see the older dies again. That is the trouble with so many new dies, you tend to forget about the older ones and it is such a shame to just leave them sitting in a box. Think maybe you should show an older card once a week or once a month, just to remind us of all the lovely dies we probably all have in our stash that don’t see the light of day. Love Jean xxx

I love to see a sample made with some of my favorites like the Abigail and Avery dies. I don't see wisteria card color very well on my computer screen so I am sure this card is even prettier in real life (?).
Thank you for this,

A striking and lovely card design. One's eye is directed into the center focal part of the design with the black being a shadow behind the Avery die and then also the top layer of the sentiment.

Hi Sue, seeing these dies being used today reminds me just how many wonderful dies you have designed. Perhaps we should all look through our collection of dies once in a while and have a play to see how well the older ones work with the newer ones.

Hello Sue,

It's so nice to see a card using some of the older dies and these two are some of my favorites. I love the lacy design of these dies and the layout.

Have a fabulous day.

I like the design of this card very much although I think I would have used something a bit less harsh than black. I don’t have many of your new dies so am constantly using my older ones which I still love. X
