Moments

Hello bloggers!  I ran across this clean and simple card that never had its day on the blog so I thought I would share it.  It is actually the first card that I did using the Crystal Tints!  I started by cutting the Petite Petal Striplet die in white and gluing it onto a piece of clear acetate that was larger than the size of it (it is nice to use the extra areas to start the tints off to get rid of the bubbles or to mix colours if desired).  Next I used the Rose Quartz and the Lime Peridot crystal tints to fill in the design.  I allowed it to dry for about ten minutes then added another coat and set it aside to dry thoroughly.  I cut one more of the striplets and glued it over the top to mask any areas where the tint hit the die cut. I cut the backing with a sticky adhesive sheet on it, then coated it with Iced Flake.  I cut the acetate to the edge of the design, then glued the iced flake backing behind it.  I cut a piece of coconut white card and stamped my sentiment in black in the lower corner area.  I then embossed it using the Provencale Lace embossing folder.  I added the striplet to the left with foam.  The card was completed with white on white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. Long time no see. How lovely to see one of the 'times gone by' dies, I love my Petit Petal and they go down well at market too. I've been using some of my American collection and the very early dies when I've felt up to crafting as I found they were getting neglected since all the newer dies were born, and as the majority were gifts it seemed wrong somehow not to use them plus I think we forget just what gorgeous cards they make and now we have all the new pixie's and stains etc they seem to take on a completely new life. Thank you for my gift that was delivered yesterday I hope I can do it justice. Have a great day and today's inspiration is just beautifully simple and eye catching ccc

Love this card Sue. Sometimes less is more. White on white is my favourite combination. I know this has a little colour on it, but it is mostly white x

Hello Sue and all
Yes Steph, I thought just the same, I pick this die up every now and then but it doesn't get nearly the use it deserves, it really is pretty - as is today's card.
I was looking at petit petal the other day and thinking of using some bits of card I have in the bits box with glitter kiss on, once again inspiration just in time Sue,
Hugs

Hi Sue
What a beautiful card to greet me on my return from a week (and a bit more) away.
The crystal tints are stunning. I have admired them on your stained glass effect Christmas cards but not attempted the technique as really don’t think I have the patience to persevere. This card shows a scaled down version that I think even I could cope with. Lol. It is gorgeous.
My batteries have been recharged somewhat after spending time with my best friend in Hampshire. And then I return to a house which was clean and tidy when I left after my sons have been here without me! Don’t think I need to say anymore!
I am off to see Lion King at the theatre this evening - so excited.
Happy Tuesday everyone
Crafty hugs

Good Morning Sue. Firstly I have to apologise for my absence yesterday..... I was at Manchester hospital all day for a renal appointment with my brother.
Today's card....... really cheered me up..... so delightful... I love it when the older dies come out and this is no exeption. When I first saw it I thought Ohhh great my favourite embossing folder is back...... but then I saw your description and you say it's Provencal lace. I would know this embossing folder anywhere ans I thought it was the Jacobean folder....well whatever the name your sample is stunning.. Thankyou Sue. Sending best wishes to everyone. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds

I do like the simplicity of this example. We get both the marked beauty of the striplet and it’s stained effect and the embossing folder showing strongly. Beautiful piece.

Fantastic design. Have not gotten my hands on the Crystal Tints as yet. Still mixing pigment ink or pixie powder to lacquer to do my stain glass look. I like the look of the Iced Flake glitter to the outer spaces around the flowers and stems. Your stamped sentiment looks perfect even with having been embossed. Amazing. You give us crafters such great ideas. You inspire me daily. Thank you Sue for sharing.
