For You

Hi crafters!  Just thought I would show off one of the stamps To Die For (STDF) that matches the Avery die.  I started with the background, however, on this one and cut the Celtic Circles out of taupe card.  I covered a piece of black card with a sticky adhesive sheet, peeled the backing paper off and attached the background die to it.  I used Black Glitterbitz on the remaining exposed adhesive for a bit of a glittery background.  Next I stamped the Avery's Cornflower STDF on to a piece of white card with a Black Archival ink pad.  I used Distress markers to colour it in. I cut it out with the matching Avery die.   I stamped it again and just coloured the flowers and cut them out by hand and mounted them above the original flowers with a bit of foam for some dimension.  I cut the Avery die two more times, once in black and once in white, using the outer decorative edge both times.  I cut the white one in half and mounted it just to the outer edges of the black one, then seated the stamped version in the centre.  I cut the For You (omitting the shadow on it) out of black card and glued it to the centre of the stamped image.  I used the Double Stitched Squares to make a multi- layered frame, with a wider base of white and a thinner black top.  I completed the card with white, taupe and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  all for now, Sue x

Hello Sue, I really like this card!!! Maybe it's the mix of dies and colours make it really work. The stamping certainly adds to the mix too. Xx

Hello Sue,

What a difference a stamp makes. A card made with your dies is fabulous but when you add a Stamp To Die For to the mix, you get an entirely different dimension. The stamps with this release are all gorgeous. The detail in each one is simply incredible. I really like the mix of color that you have used in the background, taupe and black. I can just imagine how beautiful the the black glitterbitz must be in person, the photograph certainly doesn't do them justice.

Have a wonderful day.

Beverly

Morning Sue,
Stunning! Thank you for all of your details regarding how to make it, too.
The stamp is really pretty, but I might have to stamp it several times and paper piece it as my colouring is not so good. I blame my mother for not allowing me to buy colouring books. lol
Must invest in some black glitterbliz. Hugs xx Pauline in S.A.

Sorry but this card doesn’t do it for me - somehow, it doesn’t all go together.

How did you know I needed help with this stamp? I forgot it was cornflower and colored them all pink. And you offer some interesting concepts, like the outer die of the Avery set cut in two colors and one cut in half to put behind the other for a double outer edge. It really works with this set. And the gap between the halves of the cut one doesn’t even need hiding because it looks like part of the design.

Doubling the flowers for a 3D effect made a big difference in these rustic colors. Next time I try coloring this stamp, it’ll come out better, thanks to you. And maybe by then my Celtic collection will have arrived from Hochanda and I can try putting it all together like you did. So far I haven’t used any of the STDF with the sets they match.

Best to all,
Donita

The card is very lovely. Everything works so well together. I don't know when I will make a card like this because my coloring skills are not great, I think. I didn't try yet, but it is the way I feel.
