Hi bloggers! I know there seems to be quite a few lavender themed cards on my Wednesday giveaway, but it is only because I always see comments that it is a favourite colour of many of you. Just trying to please! You know the drill by now, leave a comment on today's post if you would like to be in the drawing to win this one. By the way, I am still waiting for PAPER JUNKIE to claim last weeks card! You have to email me by Friday or I will draw another name and add it to the announcement for this one on Saturday's post. This is the first card I made with the new background die called
Crisscross. I really like this one, mainly because it just cries out for pearls in those little squares (I had to oblige! LOL) It also looks nice with ribbon woven through it although I think that is what most people first see when they look at it cut out. I added some mounting foam to the back and mounted it over
lavender card for dimension. Next I used the
Gold Elements Four and cut the two largest sizes of them for the back layer to my focal element. I cut the largest one in half and to shorten it a bit and placed the other one atop it so they appeared more similar in size. On lavender card, I stamped the
Vintage Birthday stamp by Justrite using a
clear perfect medium and
white embossed it. I cut it out with the
Vintage Labels four die. I stamped my sentiment from the set in black and cut it out with the oval die in the
Vintage Labels four set. I inked through the die lightly with
Milled Lavender distress ink. I made a lavender flower using the method listed under my tutorials at the very top of the blog, then "sugared" it using the
Diamond Sprinkles. I tied a messy bow with
mauve seam binding and seated the flower with some
Bakers twine. I added a lavender mat before finishing with my double white pierced mat layer. And of course, I added all the
small flatback pearls as finishing touches! Finished dimensions are 7" x 8" in size. Let me know if you would like to win this one! All for now, Sue x

Am I going gaga, or did you spend hour's cutting into the background Sue ? I keep going back to the photo and reading the tutorial and nowhere does it say you had cut inbetween to give that trellis/lattice effect but that's how it looks can someone help me out here please lol !
I love the colour combo, but there again any colour's used would look lush in my eyes. Im so frustrated, as I would love a pile of the card you use Sue and in ALL the colours on my workspace in place of all the cardstock I already have but as Im the only 'bread winner' via my disability payment, bills etc have to take priority, so when SB/JR/CE keep teasing me with ALL their new products I could litterally cry ! So my dreams of building up wonderful cardstock and excellent quality expensive dies and stamps remain a 'pipe dream' but C and my birthday are round the corner as is a craft shop, so all Ive put on my 'wish lists' are vouchers to spend on all these goodies - well maybe enough to put together to choose 1 die 1 stamp or a selection of cardstock used on demo's but whatever I decide to get I always get excited lol.
Paper Junkie - please DONT let this once in a lifetime chance of a W.O.W go bye, your Wonder Of Wilson is all your's go get it ! Maybe she is poorly, or something is stopping her from getting online !
I think Ive gone on long enough yet again (my husband does say I waffle too much before getting to the point) poor chap !

What a wonderful way to start the day - today's gift is at the top of my favourite list as from this moment.
At first glance I thought it was parchment used for the background and now this die is a definite buy for me.
It goes without saying that the colour scheme is superb and the format so gentile that I would be on top of the world if that card came through my door.

Lovely card in lovely colours. The first thought that hit me was the background reminds me of the harlequin background, but equally as useful as a chess or draughts board. Gorgeous colour and what a lovely die! Haven't seen this one before as far as I remember. It makes an excellent backdrop for a very pretty card. The flower and bow are perfect to finish off too.

Yet another OTT SUPER card Sue. Lavender, Pink, Blue, you can work your magic with any colour even (I suspect) Black monochrome!!!

Sue has used a trellis die - it cuts out the bits for her - don't think that anyone (even our super talented Sue) would have the time or inclination to hand cut something similar.
