Black Magic

Morning all!  Today's card showcases a fun technique called "Black Magic."  You need to start with a piece of black card and use a silhouette type of stamp.  I have picked the "Let Your Soul Sing" set by Justrite stamps for this.  Using the large branch, ink it with a Snowcap Adirondack pigment ink pad and stamp it on your black card.  I stamped it twice, leaving an area for my sentiment to be placed later on.  Now, you just need to colour over your stamped image using pencils, but the white base gives you a cool chalky look.  You will colour in the image so you can no longer see the original white ink stamped portion.  I coloured the flowers with a pink pencil and used some yellow in the centres, then lined the branches and leaves in green.  Next you use a white gel pen to go around the image to make it pop.  I lined all the flowers, but decided to leave white dots along the branches and leaves for interest.  I stamped my sentiment (Justrite)on black card using a clear perfect medium pad, then heat embossed it with white powder.  I cut it out with the oval die from Vintage Labels Four by Justrite and inked through the die with my Snow cap ink before removing it.  I cut a larger white oval (from Vintage Labels Four) on which to mat it and added it with foam pieces to my card.  I finished the card by adding three flatback pearls to the upper corner, then my double white pierced matting layers.  It is a really relaxing technique if you enjoy colouring and the results are so pretty in person!  Hope you like it.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size.

Your cards are second to non and you give so much inspiration to all your followers. This card is beautiful and yet again makes me long for all vard and tools required to make such a wonderful piece of work. Im just trying to save for a machine to cut A4 as my BS limits me size wise so much, then time to save for more SB and JR dies and stamps. In the meantime i'll just oooo and arrrr over the cards you add, and look forward to watching you again next time you are on Cc.
