Happy Birthday

Good Sunday morning all!  This card was made with some of my leftover scraps from other cards.  I selected some small pieces of coloured card and cut them into 1/2" strips.  I glued them onto a piece of black card leaving a small gap between them.  I used the large balloon die from the Birthday Balloon die set and cut an aperture in the card ad added the decorative edging.  I put mounting foam on the back to raise it then added the striped piece behind it (I liked it best on the diagonal.  I cut the Happy Birthday sentiment in black then added the party hat and noisemaker (or whatever you call the other thing! LOL) and drew a squiggly line from the balloon itself.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4"  x  8 3/4" in size.  All for now,  Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh I do like this one, it is one that my granddaughter could make for her friends, and it could be made into a Christmas card as well if you change the sentiment.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Hi Sue, what a brilliant idea to place a striped design behind the aperture of the balloon and a good way to use up all the scraps of card and paper that we all accumulate.

Hi Sue, a bright and bold card and a great way to use up even the smallest of scraps. Noisemakers or party blowers is what they are called here. We had fun with them when we were children but I don't think that our mother really appreciated the noise :-)

Hello there everyone.
The blog just appeared on my PC and I wish it did so all the time. I do love the joy you have given with this card. What would you do if you had just cleared out all your so called scraps and the bin men had taken them away.
Would you start chipping away at the new stuff or wait a day or two until you had some more? All worth having I'm sure.
All for now.
