Sending Love And Sympathy

Good Sunday morning all!  I always feel a bit strange sharing a sympathy card, but we all need to send them from time to time unfortunately.  Personally I find them a bit difficult to make as I want to make a nice card, but it is for a somber event.   I hope you think I found a nice balance with this one.  I started with a piece of Pixied card from my stash.  I had used Olive Green and Emerald Green on it, then cut the floral panel from the Daisy Floral Panel set three times across the card.  I backed it with a piece of white card. I made a  wide white frame using the Double Stitched Squares.  I added a piece of acetate to the back of the frame then used mounting foam to attach it to the background.  I stamped the sending love and sentiment and cut it out with a tag, then added it above the bold Sympathy word, which I cut in white and shadowed with black.  I cut the Daisy floral panel then cut out just the two flowers.  I coloured them with Distress ink and mounted them in the upper right corner of the frame.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.    The finished dimensions are 8"  x  8" in size.    All for now, Sue x

I know we'll agree how hard they are, I think we find it hard to separate sombre and sadness from celebrating the life that's just passed which a lot of people prefer to ďo these days with 'happy colours rather than the traditional black, so that being said you've got it right in my books but everyone is different. Sending love to all. Hope our UK family are safe after last night's downpour with no damage inside or out 💓

Good Morning Sue. I always wonder what to do for this sad occasion. But with your help ... once again ... I now know what my next sympathy card will be like. Who would have thought of pixie powder for a background on a sympathy card ... I certainly wouldn't have ... But here again you have taught us something new. Your card is beautiful Sue. Thankyou. Sending hugs 🤗 and best wishes to everyone who needs them today.
PLEASE KEEP STAYING SAFE 🙏 🙏 🙏
Kind regards Ann Toppcards in Leeds.

Hi Sue and everyone, I think this is a very fitting card for a sad and sombre time. The colours you've chosen are perfect, im not even sure if it needed the flowers but beautiful none the less.
I'm fortunate to have only ever made two sympathy cards is all my card making career and hopefully won't have too many more to make.
Hugs to all

Hi Sue, it is a sad fact of life that we will all at some time need to make this type of card. Today's sample is lovely and conveys the message perfectly. I always think green is very calming and the small pop of colour on the daisies hints at brighter days to come.

I also find sympathy cards difficult to create but having a few made ahead of time can help make them easier to send when there is a need. I like the background and the colors you used. It’s not too much and is different from sympathy cards that are primarily white or cream. This is lovely and I’m sure it will mean a lot to the recipient.

Hi, Sue. Sympathy cards are very difficult for me to make, but you have made a beautiful, well-balanced card for such a difficult time. Thank you for sharing. I love the floral panel dies you have created. I have three of the floral panel sets and am looking forward to getting the Floral Panels Dogwood set. Thank you for your inspiration. Hugs. Unfortunately, the need for sympathy cards are a way of life. This card would touch any recipient's heart with the knowledge that you cared enough to make a beautiful design for them.
