Let The Adventure Begin

Hi crafters!  I used the Tribal Fabric stencil to create the background on this card.   I used Distress Oxide inks all over the background to get the sunset sort of look about it.  I used Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Festive Berries and blended them all together.  Next, I taped the Tribal Fabric stencil on top of the inked background.  I used Black Soot Distress ink through the mask.  I stamped my sentiment from the Wild About You clear stamp set and then laid my Double Stitched Square dies to make a frame with the sentiment in the upper corner of the frame.  I added mounting foam to the back then added it over the stenciled background.  I stamped the Lion stamp and cut it out with the matching Lion die.  I coloured the lions head with Distress markers, then nipped away the circular frame around it, leaving just the side view of the lion's head.  I added it with foam to the lower corner of the frame.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 8 1/4"  x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now. Sue x

Hi Sue. I agree with Jan, it's very unusual but I think we're getting use to the curve balls you share with us and the safari collection was one of those. It's a multi-gender card, its lovely to give someone starting a placement or job working with animals, I know one of our friends here will have a strong connection to this sample, and other friends that lived, loved and visited these magnificent animals, young, mature, extra mature will love this and your lion - well I'd say pensive the background is just absolutely beautiful Sue bringing back memories of the Seringeti for a few or at least safari trips in the past.
Whatever the day has in store hope its enjoyable xxx

Hello Sue and all
I had to have this stencil as soon as I saw it and yes - haven’t used it yet but thought at the time to use distress inks as a background. Now inspired, will have to have a go, I love this sample

Hello Sue, what a wonderful card showing all these great animals. The king of the jungle looking over to watch everything. The colours on the background really make this card. Who'd have thought adding a bit of raspberry colour would blend in so well. Xx
