They Say It's Your Birthday

Hello there my crafty friends!  It's another caught in crystal card but with some of my favourite colours in the mix.  I started with a piece of acetate and used the Pure Amethyst, Tanzanite Blue and Lime Peridot colours of Crystal Tints all over it.  I added in some Lilac Shine Holographic Glitter this time.  I scrunched up some white tissue paper and laid it on top and set it aside to dry overnight.  Next I cut the Cecelia die in white into a piece of white card.  I cut the Cecelia centre circle again, but used the outer cutting die with it.  I added on top of the larger Cecelia die cut but offset it to create a pretty pattern in the middle.  I stamped the Carousel horse die and cut it out with the matching die.  I coloured the horse with Distress Markers and added it with mounting foam in front of the Cecelia cut out section.  I had a small piece of the caught in crystal left over so I cut the sentiment out of it.  I added it to a white die cut for some stability, then glued it to the top of the card.  Using the Magnolia Corner flower die, I made two dimensional flowers and glittered them.  I seated them in the lower corner and added Lace Edged Leaves cut in white as accents.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are       7"  x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now. Sue x

Hi Sue and family. Another week and its getting closer, like one of my fellow Lancastrian's I'm still beavering away with a few of my Christmas cards but they are hand delivery. Today's inspiration has the most beautiful colour scheme and the Cecilia die is gorgeous - I've just finished a first birthday card for a little princess with the same name, I know I'll be in the minority but the carousel animals didn't make it to my collection, I can only afford to buy dies now that I know my customers will adore as much as I do (I've got to know their likes and dislikes over the years) but it doesn't mean I can't enjoy the samples I see from you and other crafters and I will. So I'll send lots of love and sincere caring thoughts and please STAY SAFE KEEP CARING xxx 💖

Hi Sue,
This is well and truly a stunning card. Brings me back to my childhood, and those carousels with horses, gaily painted and truly stupendous to me as a child. Plus the jingle jangle music.
Have a good week, everyone.
Hugs

Hi Sue. I have got caught in crystal backgrounds that I thought would be too busy to use, but you have shown how pretty they are by using quite a busy die cut on top of it (you can use the die cut to cover the bits you are not too keen on). Thanks for showing us what to do.

A lovely card, one which I might be able to use for inspiration as I know my husband has bought me the carousel animals as a stocking filler, and I won the carousel in the giveaway.
Thank you Sue for all the great inspiration you give us.
