Thinking Of You

Good Sunday morning all!  I was playing with a bit of a fun technique for the background of this card.  I used the Tantalising Teal Lustre Polish and spread it across a dark piece of card, covering it completely a bit of the thicker side.  Next I covered it with a piece of cling film and scrunched it so it was all wrinkled into the Lustre Polish.  I set it aside to dry over night, then removed the cling film, creating this lovely textural background.  I made two Exquisite Poppy flowers by cutting them out of white card that had a sticky adhesive sheet added to it.  I peeled off the backing and coated the petal in Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz then assembled the petals.  I adhered them to the lower corner and accented them with Fern Fronds and Trailing Ivy cut in white.  I used the Thinking of You sentiment in white in the opposite corner.  I added the background to a larger piece of white card that I added Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz to the edge of it for extra bling.  The card was completed with white, teal and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4"  x  7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue
Oh my - what a fabulous background - really need to get busy with my cling film! This card is a real eye catcher - it’s stunning. That colour is amazing x
Apologies for my absence. Went away to Windsor for a few days last Sunday and had a lovely time but unfortunately got back and had a number of days plagued by my dreaded fatigue and have been out of action. Fingers crossed back for the foreseeable now x

Oh Sue this background is amazing it's weird but I have 2 backgrounds drying using the pixies and cling film, Gold/Purple and Red/Gold, but I love the effect with Lustre Polish what an amazing depth of colour and sheen making your floral elements stand out so pretty. Off to market to set up at 9 ready hopefully to sell at 10 but lots to organize here before my keepers loads the car. Sending hugs xxx

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, what a cleaver idea about the cling film, I have done something similar with a kitchen roll but it was so messy, I might try the cling film one day. Love the colours and the flowers too.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
