For Someone Special

Hi crafters!  Today is another day of pixies!  I just love them so I reach for them often as there are just so many cool ways to use them!  For today's card, I used the Eliza die and cut it into a piece of coconut white card using all the decorative dies in the set.  I started with a much larger piece of card than I needed but you must do that for this technique.  Once I cut all the dies cuts into the card, I backed it with a piece of pixie powdered card I made using Midnight Blue, Purple Violet and Teal Wash.  After I glued the two together, then I cut the outside edges down to size.  The reason you need to do it this way is because the decorative parts of the die will cut out and drop off the edge when you use a smaller piece of card.  Trust me on this one, it just won't work easily unless you start big.  Next I cut two diagonal cuts about two inches apart./  I added mounting foam to the top and bottom edge of the card and added them on to another piece of coconut white card, then glued the diagonal strip flat between them, keeping the pattern intact.  I cut the For Someone Special sentiment out of teal card a couple of times and glued them together for dimension, then glued it to the upper left corner of the card.  From the leftover piece of pixie powdered card, I used the Layered carnation die set and cut enough flowers to make three flowers.  I assembled them and seated them in the lower right corner with white leaves and a white ribbon bow as accents.  The card was completed with white on white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. This is different. Is it the time of day I'm reading your post that makes it sound complicated or the usual - not having the kind of brain that clicks straight away, give me a week and the penny may drop lol. You've converted so many of us to pixie powders they give such a different background every time so absolutely perfect for this design.
Have a great day whatever you've got planned xxx

Hi Sue
Oh wow. You don’t need to convince me how fabulously amazing pixie powders are! It is no coincidence that my name is Princess Pixie! Lol x
This card is wow! Obviously the pixied background is stunning but the way you have ‘staggered’ it is ingenious. The background is so subtle peeping out from behind Eliza then the Layered Carnations just give is that explosion of pixieness which is magical. Oh yes - Pixie Powders - I love them!!
Enough rambling for today. It is wet and cold here in Cultural Croydon. The perfect day for a Pixiefest and I might even make a card - don’t hold me to it but watch this space!
Happy Tuesday everyone

Good Morning Sue. Oooooo I like this one... it is so different... not seen one like this before. But you can bet I will be having a go at some time in the near future. I agree with all our blog friends about the pixie powders. Every so often I have a pp day where I just make sheets up in different shades so they are on hand and ready for when I need them. Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.

Hi Sue, this is an amazing card that has a bit of an optical illusion about it. Very clever re-aligning the pieces so perfectly and I love the flowers. I'm still learning about my pixies but enjoying it very much.

Hi Sue, sorry I haven't been able to comment for the past 2/3 days but we have been enjoying the last of our time here sampling yet more wines in a vineyard where WiFi is temperamental.
However, your cards are as lovely as ever and I can't wait to relive them on a proper computer when I get back home to the U.K on Friday.
In the meantime, it's packing up with the odd argument thrown in. lol Hugs xx Pauline in S.A.
