Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi crafters!  Today's card is one of those that I was really happy with when I finished it, it really sang to me so I hope you will like it.  I cut the Pacific Ocean Background in to a piece of deep wine card (from my stash).  I cut it in black and well and offset it behind for a shadow.  I backed it in white then cut the centre rectangle shape out of it to create a frame.  I added mounting foam to the back to raise it.  I used the Trellis Edger to cut a continuous background out of coconut white card.  I backed it with white card and seated the frame over it.  Next I cut the Molly die in black and matted it in white and seated it inside the frame using foam.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the inside oval die.  I used the slightly larger oval cut in deep wine card to mat it before adding it to the centre of the die.  I cut several sizes of the Striped Nasturtium die in white using only the solid dies in the set.  I inked the edges with Picked Raspberry and spritzed them with water.  I scrunched them up then allowed them to dry before assembling them into three flowers of varying sizes.  I added a black pearl to the centres and inked the edges again.  I seated the flowers around the focal element and added pieces cut from the Family Tree as accents cut out of black card.  I completed the card with white, deep wine and black mats.  The finished dimensions are 5 3/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  If you would like to be entered into the drawing for a chance to win this card, just leave a comment.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous card for the Wednesday giveaway, someone is going to be delighted. Thanks to you.
Tina,, thank you for the updates on Peter, I'm so sorry that he is not doing well, the blessing is that he is pain free and that you have nursing help. Please take care of yourself, this is such a difficult time. I'm glad you think of me as a friend.
Elaine, sad day for you Andrew and Helen yesterday, hope all went as well as could be expected.
June, you are amazing with your tips, I need you to sort out my craft stash. I read about the ladies going into the craft room to work, space would be a fine thing in mine lol.
Yvonne, hope you have got over your journey and that Mum and Dad are a little better. Your company will cheer both of them up.
Laine, the thing about dusting is if you do it it comes back again, never ending story.
Ladies, if you are the posse does that mean I am the criminal???
Hugs to all including our missing friends. Wrap up warm, we have wild winds here today.

Wow, Sue, Wow!

So elegant!

I would never have guessed those were the nasturtiums! Thanks for yet another way to use them! That might be your hardest-working flower!

Makes me regard Molly much more fondly, and wish for the Pacific Ocean background.

My first shadow box came in the mail today, the garden set. This weekend my stamping friends are getting together so everyone can try out my Sue Wilson dies. It's so nice to watch them fall in love like I did.

Love to all, especially all who need a little extra love right now.

Tina T, I hope the love being sent in your direction will float you through all that is to come.

Good morning Sue and all the lovely Wilsonettes,
Oh i do like this card Sue, it is such a warm and welcoming colour and since it is bitterly cold up here in Central Scotland we could do with something to give us that warm feeling. Nastrusiums is not one of my favourite flowers but i do like how you have just crinkled up the edges and tipped them with colour, it just adds that finishing touch to a beautiful card. The black in your design today looks so subtle and although you have used it in making the middle of your card, i had to go back and look really hard to see it as a shadow( the eyes are on strike like the rest of my body). YOur tree is so perfect for making foliage being of just the right size of leaves to add behind your lovely flowers. Thank you my lovely friend for a wonderful WOW.
Tina, lovely lady, i am so sorry to read that Peter has gone, i know that he had had a long fight and had been in a lot of pain until they had got control of it for him. Sending you hugs, prayers and love and oh how i wish it could be more, take care lovely lady and remember that people do care, Rest in peace Peter.x
Well Harry was on top form yesterday which was nice to see as he has been so limp and lifeless with the chest infection that he had, but he was back to his chatty wee self and getting into everything. He thinks that if he pulls his potty out from the toilet and has a quick seat on it(clothes intact) that he is then free to go and wash his hands in my wee toilets sink. I think he is going to be a surgeon as he thinks he needs to scrub them 3 times over numerous minutes before i can get him away from the sink. He doesn't wait now for me to lift him onto the wee stool, he manages to climb up himself, although thank goodness he can't yet manage to put down the silly plunger plug yet otherwise i would be having a flood, lol.
My friends daughter managed to get me two of the Olaf adult knitting kits so i have plenty of yarn in the colour for making some little jumpers for my special little neices as they love that film Frozen. I got such a lovely exciteable hello Auntie Norah on Sunday from them, they just make me so happy. I had to cut Kaylee the oldest ones' hair as she has never had any one else ever cut her hair, which was just like her mum and Auntie Fiona as i had just always done their hair and in some weird and wonderful for her mum, Tracey who has been red, black, blonde, purple to name but a few. THis past wee while she has stayed black with the black kohl eyes, which as i said to Tracey i get that look and it doesn't cost me a penny, that Edinburgh Zoo had called as one of their panda's was missing and got told it was me, hee hee.
Anyway i am going to have a day by the fire and see if i can't finish my first sleeve and start the second one of my Olaf cardigan(it's a bum warmer at 30"). Elaine, i know you will be glad to see the end of your lovely son Andrew's treatment so i send hugs to him and his poor wife Helen who could really do with some as well after yesterdays events, it is going to take her a long time to start remembering the happy memories of her brother, but i hope and pray that she takes each day as it comes and remembers that there are friends and family that will just give her a cuddle as no words are needed.
Hugs to all my lovely Wilsonettes that need, could do with or just want them,
love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil Village)

This card design is singing to me as well. Must be the black card that makes it stand out more. I like the technique of inking the flower petals, then misting the flower pieces and scrunching them up. Nice look for the flowers. Thank you for sharing your ideas.

Just want to echo the comments on here. This is a really pretty card. The one thing I often have issues with is the colour matching. Spent 3yrs in Art College (many years ago I hasten to add), but for some reason colour combinations still baffle me at times. This card has a simple colour arrangement and it works every time. Great job! x
