Feel Better Soon

Hi crafters!  Today's card uses a split negative technique.  There are a couple of way that you can achieve this look, but I find it is a bit easier to do it the way that I have when using detailed dies.  First,  select the colours you want to work with (in this case, milk, ginger and black.)  I cut the Family Tree out of the ginger card first.  Next I used a slightly larger piece of milk card and cut the Family Tree again, trying to keep it in relatively the same place.  Next I lined up the two cut images exactly and the larger piece on the second one allowed me a bit of room to move the card around until they were lined up.   Next I trimmed the edges of both cards so they were exactly the same.  I find this a bit easier than trying to cut through two pieces of card at the same time with a detailed die which is the other way it can be done.   Next I seated the die cuts back into the card on each of them and cut directly down the centre of the two pieces of card.   I used the left half of the ginger card and the right half of the milk card and taped the back of them and seated the opposite colour of the tree back into the die cut.  I backed it with a larger piece of black card. I used the sentiment from the Feel Better Soon die set and cut it out of the bottom of the black card.  I cut it again in Ginger card and seated it back into the aperture. The card was completed with milk, ginger and black mats.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Lovely card Sue,just gorgeous.
Tina and Owen, always in my thoughts. Peter loved you right to the end and will still be watching over you now Tina. I was once told that they wait for us in another room. I hold to that thought.
Elaine, sorry that Andrew is not so good after the treatment but it was great news that his blood tests were good and the blood thinning. It will be a blessing when it is all finished. Hugs to you both and Helen too.
Yvonne, thinking of you too, hope Mum and Dad are feeling better..
It's wild outside, the wind has howled all night, And it's now snowing , take care everyone.
Hugs all round esoecially NannaTina and all missing friends.

Morning Sue. What a wicked morning, snow, black ice and evil bighting howling wind, it's a glove day and no crafting for me unfortunately 😢
What a statement this card makes, you've used two beautiful contrasting colours for this get well sample, I was fortunate to receive this for my birthday but not used it yet, but between your inspiration and John's I'm been given so many lovely idea's I'm really looking forward to playing with this collection Sue, I know we use that word a lot but the dies included in this collection make you want to play, the swing die and cute little bird house etc make this a really 'happy' set of dies.
So I'll send on a hug, thank you again for a lovely card and we'll miss you during the crazy take over shows this weekend. Stay safe and warm during this typical English cold horrible winter day ! Xxx

Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is such a good card for our impossible people that take offence at a lot of the lovely things that we can do to cards or i think even for a thinking of you card which at the moment i think we are all thinking about friends who are in need of some care and prayer and perhaps just a hug to say we understand, i know i am. So be it a male birthday, get well, thinking of you or whatever, this is such a good card that we can have made for when we want to say something and just can't find the right words. Sue,i hope that you have warned them all to be on their best behaviour this weekend on Hochanda as i can see mischief in the making and that's just Phill and John. Have you booked your seat on the sofa with a continuous stream of hot running tea or coffee and a box of tissues for the tears of laughter that is bound to ensue? Have a safe day whatever you are doing flower and i hope that the snow showers have finished and left the least amount of carnage as possible.
Diane, poor Emma, she must have been fed up sitting around all that time waiting to take off but i hope that she was well insulated for Aberdeen as it is bitter up here and some of the roads are so dangerous. Crikey, she could have been in the departure lounge, on and off with bags picked up in that time of waiting. Did they have anything for them to drink on the plane as with it being such a short inbound flight, they wouldn't normally be organised that way i don't think? We had the gritter in the village this morning but for all the good he did as he only went down the single lane with the grit and back up again when really we needed the plough on the front to get rid of some of the snow and i am not going out to the road to start with a shovel, i think i would be knackered by the time i had done half a dozen wields of the shovel, that's of course if i didn't land on my posterior with a thump.
You know folks, that's what makes this blog so special and head and shoulders above the others because people care about each other. I know for some this might be the only communication that someone has with the outside world and to know that you are not alone, that there are people that care about you and your circumstances does so much good and brings friends together that perhaps you have never even met, but it doesn't stop them from being there for you. Because of people on this blog and their kindness in taking the time to care, i gained something that i have never had before. I hope that the goodness and kindness that this blog is so special at stays because it brings hope to a lot of us that thought that kindness for others and thoughtfulness for others had vanished a long time ago. Crafters have always been known for their caring, sharing spirit, i hope that this keeps going even though it is not just about coming in to see Sue's wonderful WOW each day. If this blog wasn't like it is would so many of us found the special friends that we took the chance to go and meet? or had the banter that some have with each other that keeps the rest of us going?? No names, hmmm eh Myra, Maureen, PP, Lorraine etc. Thank you all of you that come and add to that friendliness.
Tina and Owen, hugs are on their way to you both, keep your chins up as much as you can. Andrew, i hope you are having a better day and hugs being sent to you, your mum and your lovely wife, and to all that need, could do with or want them, hugs are being sent,
love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil Village)

It is on my huge wish list though !!
I have to say that I very much enjoyed your last shows on Hochanda. (I know it was a little while ago now.) I also really loved Julia Watts shows on Hochanda more recently using your weaving dies Sue. I had always been a bit sort of scared of these dies as I did not really know how they worked. They looked a bit complicated for my brain to figure out !! After watching Julia's fab shows, I have decided the weaving dies are going straight to the top of my wish list as they look quite fun to play with and you can achieve such impressive results !! I used to do weaving when I was a child with a little loom and some wool. The card version looks much easier to do !! I have watched the first show of the Creative Expressions Takeover Weekend. John was great !! I am looking forward to seeing more shows over the weekend from everyone. I am disapointed you do not have any shows this weekend. I can't wait to see you on Hochanda again. As always Sue thank you so much for sharing your fab cards. Take care, sending you lots of love from Tres x x x

Sending lots of love to everyone x x x

Hi Sue

When I saw this die at first, I felt I personally would not use it very often.
I am glad to say my view has changed, and I think I would use this for lots of male cards, also female cards and even the younger children as you could use it as the main focal point, or one could add another die or even one of the extra small dies with it.

Sue sorry I am digressing, I love your card and its a "must" buy for me.
