Christmas Double Days

Hello there my crafty friends!  This is the last Christmas double day of the year.  Would you believe that it isn't the last of the Christmas cards I made however!  I was seriously off in my estimation of when I needed to start doing double days so that I would finish up today!  I cannot tell you how many cards that I have left, but there is a short hiatus on the videos until after the first of the year so I thought I would just fill in with the remainder of the Christmas cards.  I was pretty right on the money last year but I had this same sort of scenario a couple of years ago, so, if you recall, you had several days of cards, cards and more cards!  Well, we are sort of in that boat again! LOL  However, for today, there are two cards with instructions for you.  The first card was started with the Snowflake Gemini die being cut from the bottom of a piece of coconut white card.  I used the decorative die from the Snowflake Filigree die to cut the design out of the top of the card twice.  I overlapped it slightly in the middle which meant it double cut there, but I used the Bold Snowflake frame cut in white to cover it.  I cut the Warmest Wishes die in aqua card twice and glued them together and seated them on a circle die in the middle of the snowflake frame.  I added a piece of aqua card as backing that I scored lines into so they showed from beneath the snowflake Gemini.  The card was completed with white and aqua mats.  The finished sizes are 6 3/4" x 7 3/4" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

The second card uses the Ornate Holly Framed Noel die set.  I cut the outer die section in both black and white and used the white as an offset this time.  I backed it with the Bright Gold card stock and cut the centre out of it to create a frame.  I added mounting foam to the back to raise it.  I cut the inner die in milk card and backed it in black.  I cut the centre out and added a small piece of milk card that was embossed with the Star Swirls embossing folder behind it.  I cut the Noel in both Bright gold and black and added it to the centre.  I used the circle dies to cut a thin black frame to go around the sentiment.  I cut a larger piece of Bright Gold card and added sticky adhesive strips around the edges.  I peeled the backing off and covered them with Gold Micro Beads and seated the framed topper in the middle of them.  The card was completed with milk, bright gold, and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Beautiful, so lovely. Love our last two fers
June, remember what mums always said about clean underwear, you never know when it will be shown. So funny. It was lovely to read of you and your granddaughter crafting, mine is not interested at all, now if I was a chocolatier........
Dragonsnap, at least your sister and niece can comfort each other and the children will bring them some joy.
Elaine, I hope hubby wasn't hurt with his fall. Driving out of my road yesterday, the car went sideways on the roundabout but it was the only spot, thank goodness. Hugs for Andrew and Helen.
Tina, it is hard finding drinks for Peter when he feels like this, happy to hear the leg seems better.
Tracey, missing you, hope you are coping, I know how hard this is for you.
My first day of Christmas leave today, apart from having to work next Wednesday, I am off till 3rd Jan, woohoo.
Daily hugs to all who are missing, ill or saddened , thinking of you all.

Morning Sue. A stunning finale for the last 2016 festive double day, thank you for so much for all the inspiration you have given to help us through the months (or days in my case) of endless tree cutting, never ending snow globes with all the beautiful add on's to make them look so beautiful for the recipient, I know for certain I'd have thrown the towel in if it wasn't for your blog, your festive samples just helped me take idea's and work with them so a personal thank you from me. I hope I don't miss 'The rest of' while we're away over the festive season ! Well, my mats and layers are cut, my shadow box die almost melted yesterday with the speed I was putting them through the machine lol all I need now is for 'Keeper'- Claus to add to my festive wishes a couple of your shadow box accessories and I'm a happy bunny with my male and female coloured mats and layers ready to make up, my bag is packed with my mini die cutter and loads of your other dies that go through it a treat like your floral dies, a few new pixie powders, my work sheet and all the other bits n Bob's needed to make up a card, I may have thrown in a warm jumper or two lol, so it's a hectic morning ahead then a long journey, we must be mad traveling this time of year but as long as Andy is happy then so am I.
So I'll finish today's post with my usual hug, and if I can't pop in after today then I'll be thinking of you over Christmas and send my love to Alison, Tina E, 'our dear Sam' and 6am Pam. And a good Christmas to you all xx

Hi Sue
Two beautiful Christmas cards the second one hits the spot for me, so rich and regal looking ,i love it !.

Pam , Enjoy your Christmas leave , shame you have to go in on Wednesday { Helen has to go in on Wed too } however then a nice little stretch until the 3rd Jan .

June so lovely to craft with your Grand daughter , such precious times .

Laine, pleased you and your Mum are on the mend .x

Tina you are in my thoughts and Prayers. Take care xxx

Dragonsnap , I am sure your sister will have comfort from her daughter and Grandchildren over the festives , however it is sad for the reason .

Myra, i am so pleased that cuddles will soon be had , what a lovely Christmas present for you both.

Andrew went for his consultation yesterday to be told no treatment for today, he was disappointed at first only because he thought this would set him back for two weeks, but he is resuming treatment next week . So a weeks rest from the Chemo wont do him any harm i am sure.

Take care everyone, Big Hugs to all.

Two beautiful cards today but so different that I couldn't possibly choose between them and can't wait to see all those that are left to show.

Well, I was up till 1.30 this morning wrapping all the presents. Just a couple left to do, along with a birthday card and two Christmas cards so busy, busy, busy like most people this time of year. At least it stops me moping about!

Love and hugs to all who need or want them - my memory is too bad to name anyone but my thoughts are with you all. It's lovely to have an outpouring for our worries whilst looking at all of Sues gorgeous cards.

Happy crafting.

Two different and unusual cards today, Sue, as ever it's the finishing touches that help to make them special - e.g. score lines in the first and gold microbeads in the second. No preference on style today, but always like black with gold.
Fine with me to see lots more, please keep going!
Pam - enjoy your break, thanks for being our top Number One and keeping us up to speed. Happy holiday to Steph also.
June - had a good laugh with you!

Hi Sue. Both of the cards are really stunning. Interestingly, as the first card is not overwhelmingly saying Christmas, it could be used for any occasion with a bit of tweaking. For me, I would have to add a load of glitter if I was going to use it for a Christmas card.

My goodness I have returned on a double day - love it! These cards are so different but both strikingly gorgeous. I will be sorry when your Christmas Cards are put on the back burner come January. Love all your cards but have developed a bit of a soft spot for all your festive offerings x
OK fellow Wilsonettes - here is a brief explanation as to why I have neglected you all for so long!!
Been on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for a few weeks. To cut a long and involved story short, Jake had an emotional breakdown. It is always difficult this time of year as 30th December is the anniversary of Steve's death. Jake is always quite irritable this time of year but this was much deeper and quite heart wrenching.
Anyway, it has been incredibly emotional and difficult for all of us with a lot of things said that really needed to be said!
I think we have turned a corner now (thank goodness) and after having a draining time both physically and emotionally I am starting to feel a lot better x
I think one of the reasons I am beginning to 'recuperate' is that Jake and George went to Amsterdam on Tuesday morning and are not back til this evening. The peace and quiet has been heaven and the tidy house something I have not experienced for some time now!! Is it wrong that I am secretly hoping that their flight is delayed until March!! Lol x
I am completely out of the loop with everyone's lives as I have not read comments so forgive me for that but I am intending to rectify that situation. I will finish today by sending everyone lots of love and hugs and hope to be up to speed very soon x
Take care

Afternoon Sue and all Wilsonettes, sorry been so busy this morning. 2 beauties today, how I love the double days. I must say a really big thank you Sue for all the inspiration you have given not only on the blog but also at shows and on Hochanda and your video's, you are truly amazing.

Well Colin and I are both knackered after 3 days of our 4 year old granddaughter being down, yesterday she opened all her Christmas presents because Santa had to drop them off to us before he went up North (oh the innocence of children isn't it wonderful), I took a video of her opening all the presents and it is something we will treasure for always. They went home last night. Then this morning Colin was doing some washing and the machine finally gave up the ghost, so we ended up going to the shop and buying a new one (yes right on top of Christmas), got it home only to find that when we took off all the packaging that it is badly dented in the back, so back it went, they tried to say we had damaged it in the card.......well the air was blue as you can imagine from my hubby........got a replacement, plumbed it in and done a full load, it is smashing, very pleased with it. Looks like I will be ironing tomorrow.

Pam, yes I can hear my Mum saying that to me.

Special hugs to Dragonsnap, Elaine, Andrew (nice to have a weeks rest from chemo), Helen, Tina T, Peter (no doing wheelys down the corridors), Tracy, Tracey, 'P' in Wales, Stephanie, Myra, Crewe Trish, your granddaughter will love her die machine, Yvonne PP, sorry to hear of your struggles but as you say you have all turned the corner, I am sorry if I have missed anyone.

Extra special hugs for Pam, we all love you and look forward to your 6am comments, enjoy your days off.

PS: Sue I received my two stamp sets today, thank you so much, I will enjoy them.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith XXX

I don't think I could choose a favorite for today's offerings. I love them both for different reasons. The first card has beautiful colors used, not traditional at all. The dies are lovely and who would have thought just scoring could be so attractive as decoration.
The second card is so gorgeous and elegant. The dies are just wow and the black and gold give a lovely decadence to the card. Very formal looking.
Merry Christmas to all of my blog friends on both sides of the pond. I pray peace, love, and joy as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
And happy Hanukkah to my Jewish friends
Thank you so much Sue for all you do. You are amazing with your creatively and friendliness. I feel like I truly know you as a friend.

Both of these cards are wonderful! But I do believe that I am more partial to the first card of the two because of the color.
