Best Wishes

Hello my crafty friends!  I had planned on demonstrating this card back in Feb. but the ivy sold out before I was able to get to it.  It is a very easy card to do but it does  have a trick to making the frame for it.  I started by cutting the inside frame out of milk card using the die from the Herald Square set and placing it in the centre of a piece of milk card that was about an inch larger all the way around.  The die will give you the aperture for the first part of the frame.  To add the black frame, use the Union Square die, which is slightly smaller in size.  I cut the black card so that it was slightly larger than my first frame so I have an inside lip of black card and a small outside lip as well.  I glued them together and added mounting foam to the back of it.  I stamped my sentiment on milk card, then e,bossed it with the Wild Roses embossing folder.  I used some Enchanted Gold gilding wax on it to highlight the design.  Next I cut a bunch of the Trailing ivy die and attached them so they look like they are growing out of the frame around the sentiment.  I completed the card with a milk mat that was pierced, then a thin black mat and a final milk mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue and all that visit today. Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day with mom yesterday, I bet you really spoil her and why not : )

WHAT was that you said CLAi01 ? The C word already !!! 100 lines please of the following - I will spend all day crafting only using the ivy die.

Although its a simple card you have shown us this cold dull Monday morning, it has elegance to it. I love the way you have taken the ivy over towards the frame, it just goes to show that even using just 2 sets of dies, you can make a stunning card for those that dont like too many flower's bows and fuss in a card. The ivy die has so many uses. Ive just done a card for a chap who works on dis-used railway bridges and tunnels and I aged my ivy with ink and made it look like it was growing over a brick bridge and tunnel ! Its crazy what some people ask for !!! Lol.
With that I will wish you a warm happy day Sue and to all that pop in today, it would be lovely if you joined us tomorrow and said a quick Hi.
To our poorly friends I hope you are feeling a little better soon. Miss you TOB xx

Love to all.

I used the new Classic fold over flower die for the first time last night using foundation card and it has turned out lovely. Actually I made 3 in the end and even 'sugared' them with diamond sprinkles. They look good even if I do say so myself.

Good Morning Sue,

I am still flying high after receiving a message from you yesterday(thanks for the birthday wishes!), I think I might frame it!:-)
Another stunning card for today, in the past I would use bold colours as standard, but your use of elegant creams has totally converted me to the simple elegance of an understated card. I love glitter and gilding flakes as much as the next man , but this gem gets my vote.
The Spanish and the New York collections are the only sets missing from my collection and it is clear that I will have to remedy this pronto.
Hope Florida 's weather is kinder than Stirlingshires today.

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
This is gorgeous Sue with the trailing ivy doing just that, trailing all over the card and frame. Your ivy die was a must as it is so realistic in making the ivy and can be put in all sorts of directions because of the style in which you made it and designed it. There is just enough black in the card to pop the details on it. Thank you Sue for just a beautiful WOW that would look perfect for man or woman and for a number of occasions.
Well it is not so nice looking up here at my Ochil hills as the dark grey of the sky is stretching across them from the west to the east getting slowly lighter as it makes it's way across them. It was so nice Saturday but we're back to the rain which will wash the hills faces and the grass shine through as a rich green again. I have just finished making a tiny pompom tammie for baby Harry coming out of the hospital and i just hope that the pompom is not bigger than his head with the size of it. It's quite funny as Kirsten has always thought big pompom's silly but she wants it as big as i can make it. I have showed her that if it is bigger than the hat then it just looks silly but i have made it the diameter of the hat so that it is still big but at least kept within the boundaries of his head, poor wee mite. Kirsten has discovered after getting all the stuff from my house that she has may be went a bit OTT in the shops with clothes for him. I hope he comes out with more than one body as he is going to need it to wear all the clothes that teeny has bought for him that she thinks is "cute". The only thing worse would be if he had been a girl, the wardrobe and all the drawers would have been filled as she thinks she has been restrained. Some how Kirstens' restrained and ours is a whole lot different. Rory is starting to ask when the "kid" will be big enough so that he can play with him on the xbox. I told him that could take a wee while to get that far but he can play with him making up his imaginary places and vehicles out of boxes as long as he can sit up first.
Well i will go and leave you all but before i go i hope that all of the winners of the comment game enjoy their prize when it arrives.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (glenochil)

Hi Sue,
I love your white cards and the added black layers give it a bit of a punch. I liked the way you made the frame, that's something I really want to try out and the ivy popping right out of the frame gives the card extra dimension...I really need that ivy die lol! As always, thanks so much for sharing with us. x

So very pretty on this blessed morning. Love the black and white, it's so elegant.
On Sat. we were finishing up our monthly scrapbooking crop at the church when the severe weather rolled in. We left early but several of our group had to hide out in the bathroom for several hours as there was tornado warnings. This time the storms passed without damage. The next day on Mother's Day, late in the day the storms returned with a vengeance. Thankfully we were spared, but just north of us in the next little community, a tornado touched down and several people died, and there were many injuries. It is such a reminder to be thankful to God for every minute.
God bless.

Hi Sue

Such a beautiful card today. I love the way the ivy trails outside the frame, Beautiful!

Sorry ladies, it has been a beautiful sunny day here in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Still chilly when the sun goes behind the clouds, but lovely when it shows it's face again.

Hi Sue

Clean, simple, stunning. Ivy is my favourite die, I use it on loads of things- not just cards!

Just saw Txcowgirl's post, such an awful thing to happen. She's right too, there's a lot to be thankful for and you have to make the most of life. I hope the communities affected are able to recover as soon as possible.

Sandra, I hope you feel better soon, get well hugs x Alison (Alimecca) Still thinking of you, extra special hugs for as long as you need them x Norah, sure Harrys wee hat will look lovely, however large the pom pom is!!!

Please forgive such a brief post, very little energy! Hugs to every, single one of you. Hoping for good things for you all and extra hugs if you need them.

Hi Sue a lovely card and I love the ivy but I do have problems with mine. No matter how many times I run itthrough myGC and I've tried using a shim but I always have to resort to my craft knife. Any top tips please? Jean Toft ' a visitor from Oldham '

Hi Sue,

Bit late coming on here tonight.
Beautiful card, and it could be used for so many different occasions. I have a sympathy card to do, so I am going to do this card, with one little added butterfly.

Thanks for the idea and sharing.

Goodnight.... everyone...

Hi, Sue, and Wilsonettes, this card isn't for me. I do like the idea of the Ivy trailing around a frame but I'm not keen on the black and white colour palette.

Take care Wheely Bad and all who are unwell, extra hugs to you all (((( ))))

Best Wishes and hugs,

Beautiful Card Sue!

I love the tone on tone using the milk card with the slight addition of black. The Ivy die is lovely, it's one I haven't got round to adding to my collection yet but is on my need/want/must have list.

Happy Crafting. :) X X
