Thanks

Hello bloggers!  How is this for a cheerful card on a Monday morning!  It may be a bit hard for me to describe this one as it is done on three different levels, but I will try my best.  I started by cutting an oval aperture in my coconut white background.  I then cut the Austrian Collection Innsbruck die out of coconut white card using both the outside and inside decorative cutting inserts with the oval outer cutting edge.  I cut another smaller oval aperture in this piece as well.  I matted this with a periwinkle blue version cut without the decorative inserts.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the small oval die from the set.  I made two other slightly larger mats out of white and periwinkle blue card.  I cut an oval opening in the first one so that I was able to recess my sentiment into it.  I stacked all the mats by adding mounting foam so they stair stepped upwards, but still allowed me to recess my decorative die cuts downward into them.  I cut several different sizes of the Delicate Daisies (Open petal) and created an assortment of sizes of flowers that I added to opposite sides of the aperture.  I used 8mm white flatback pearls for the centres.  I seated the larger flowers with a Bakers Twine tied bow.  Using the side view butterfly from the Magical Butterfly set, I cut two of them and glued them together for a three dimensional look to it and added it to the upper corner of the aperture and added 3mm pearls for the body.  I completed the card with a simple double white mat. There is just something about the periwinkle blue and the coconut white card together that just sings to me.   I loved the way it came out, even if it was a bit of work!  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x 8 3/4" in size.

Hi Sue,
Pam - I so wish I could have contacted you personally but that wasn't possible. I went on the Caringbridge site and left a short comment. I have two sons who were and still are sports mad! Dislocated shoulders, broken noses ( fielding in the slips) are us! Robbie struck a chord with me because what happened to him may have happened to one of mine. I just hope I have not done anything out of order. If so I'm very sorry. Love Myra

What a stunning card, I just love everything about it, periwinkle blue is such a beautiful shade and goes perfectly with white, those beautiful daisies and the Butterfly, I want so love to have a card like this, it's just gorgeous.

Take care, love Brenda xxx

Norah, I hope today has been a better day for you, take care LOL

Myra, I hope you are feeling better, and can now get your house back in order. BUT first make sure you are in top form!

Maggie Corgie owner, So pleased your daughters first day as dupty head went well and the staff made her feel welcome. Our eldest daughter is now a head teacher and she would always say when going into a new school it makes such a difference if the staff are welcoming. I wish your daughter every success in her new roll and hope she finds it rewarding.

Stunning card but it does sound complicated! You're quite right about the periwinkle blue and coconut white working well together. So pretty. Love the Austrian dies too.
