It's Your Birthday

Hello bloggers!  We are back to once a day posts for a bit!  I found this piece of sort of experimental pixie powdered card.  I started with a piece of silver mirror card and sprinkled Midnight Blue Pixie Powders on it.  I spritzed them with water and covered with a piece of cling film, then scrunched it up to add texture and set it aside to dry.  Using the Looped Squares, I cut three white frames using three different sizes of the die set.  I added them to the pixied card with mounting foam.  I cut the It's Your Birthday sentiment in white three times, stacked them, then added a black shadow behind it.  I used the little candle die cut in blue and added a yellow flame to it with a marker.  I glued it on top of the "i" in birthday.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  7"   in size.   All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue,
Your looped squares are amazing because apart from a pretty background colour you don't need much more other than a sentiment and you've got such a lovely card.

A lovely card, I like how you have used the candle and the pixie powdered background is great, I must have a go using cling film, I do make a lot of my own backgrounds but had forgotten about this technique so thank you for the reminder Sue.

Absolutely love the background and the die is so cute, using a candle for the ‘i’. Blue & white combo is always a favourite, but this has something extra. Thanks Sue x

Love the looped squares, I had them on my Christmas list but they seemed to be out of stock in many places! I am intrigued by the pixie method, I wouldn’t have thought to put pixies on Mirri card, but I thought it would crack if scrunched u? Must try it out. Thank you Sue.

Hi Sue. I do like these looped borders as they are ornate without being too fussy. Great background too, I wouldn't have thought of using pixie powders onto Mirri card.
