Heartfelt Thanks

Hi crafters!  I started this card by using the Lavender Blue Opal Polish all over a piece of card and allowing it to try.  Next I rubbed a Black Soot Distress Oxide pad over the negative side of the Rose Bed 3D embossing folder and then embossed the background with it.  The black ink transferred into the floor of the design, showing off the roses.  I used a couple of extra strips of the background before embossing to go behind the edgers, which I cut in black from the Stella's Border die.  I used mounting foam behind them to raise them and added them to the sides of the card.  I cut the Stella die in black and added a white backing to it, then cut the centre out.  I used a Pierced Flag die through the centre and seated the sentiment on it.  I cut the Heartfelt Thanks out of the same opal polish background and added a black die cut as an offset shadow.  I made two Cosmos Flowers as accents.  I cut the solid flower from extra of the background and added a black outline on top of it.  I accented the flowers with white leaves from the set.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.    The finished dimensions are
6 3/4"  x  8 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hiya Sue. I love the colours you've chosen for the background it really highlights the depths of the folder used. It certainly needs a very dark or Bright white cardstock to show the delicate design of the Stella dies or I'm wondering if they'd 'get lost' within the Rose Bed but I'm not professional crafter I tinker lol but this is a beautiful way to start another horrible weather day, and worse to come by the sound of it. Hope you're planning a lovely day Sue, enjoy xxx

Good Morning Sue. Ohhh what a lovely card. And I love the embossing folder.... I don't have that one ....but I have the A4 Bed of roses one and I have to say it is my go to every time. I must have a go with colouring the card first as I love how you have highlighted the roses. Great sample Sue. Hi Sue. What a really colourful card today. The opal polish contains so many different colours it looks as though you have used more than one of them. Although you have used a lot of black I think this shows off the colour even more.

Gorgeous card design. Great look that defines the roses by inking the embossing folder on the floor of the embossing folder before embossing. Adding the black accents to both the Stellas and the flowers are that perfect finishing touch. You achieved a pronounced look with the textures, and shinny and mat surfaces.
