Christmas Wishes

Hello there my crafty friends!  I have a simple white card with a pop of red to share today.  I started by making a piece of Yupo Paper alcohol inked background.  I used Red Pepper and Rust alcohol inks on the Yupo and then added in some blending solution to give it a mottled effect.  I used the Poinsettia Triple Layer die outer die to die cut my flowers out of it.  I used two die cut flowers and offset them to give more fullness and I did this for each of the three flowers.  Interestingly enough, Yupo paper can't really be shaped the way regular cardstock can so it doesn't give the fullness unless you use two to make a single flower.  I used the Nordic Tiles embossing folder to emboss a piece of white card as my background.  I added a wide white frame over it using the Double Stitched Squares.  I cut a Pierced Flag in white and seated my Christmas Wishes sentiment cut in gold on it.  I added two flowers in the corner off the edge of the sentient flag and the other one in the opposite corner.  I used The Twin Holly Sprays and the Winter Foliage cut in white as accents around the flowers.  White mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  7 3/4"  in size.    All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue
Remember me? I have been away since 1st August so it’s been quite a while!
And what an amazing card to greet me upon my return. I love the triple layered Poinsettia and that yupo/alcohol colouring is magnificent. The Nordic Tiles embossed background is one of my favourites when it comes to Christmas cards - there’s just something about it that I really like. Those beautifully delicate finishing touches are wonderful. All in all a gorgeous Christmas card.
Well I have been away for about 4 weeks visiting my parents in Newcastle, my sister in Stourbridge and my Aunty, Uncle and Cousin in Mansfield! There was a bit of an issue with my mum and dads internet when I arrived and after a few days I decided that I quite liked life without the hustle and bustle of being on the internet every day so made a conscious decision to have a total break whilst I was away. Unfortunately that meant sacrificing my beloved Particraft as well. For that I apologise but the break has done me good and I am hoping (health permitting) I am back every day to see all your fabulous creations and get some much needed inspiration to kick start my Christmas Card activities.
Sorry for the long comment but wanted to offer an explanation as to why I had disappeared. If no one noticed I wasn’t about then I am even more sorry for the long post! Lol x
Anyway. As of tomorrow much more condensed comments! Happy Friday everyone x

Good Morning Sue and all
What a stunning card this morning , the effect created with the inks and Yupo paper for the Poinsettias is amazing . I love how the pop of red brings the design together working beautifully with the embossed background.
Sorry I have not been around for a couple of weeks as life has been taken over by two five month old rescue kittens. I lost my cat at Christmas which was heart breaking .
Crafty hugs to all , Wendy

I am just getting into alcohol inks. I think I need to expand my, as of present, colour range so I can try something similar.

Morning Sue, Sorry I've missed seeing your blog recently but my grandson's wedding arrangements took over our lives, but it's back to normal from tomorrow.
Lovely card today. Poinsettias scream Christmas decorations and I do have this die.
Goodness, having just read a few comments, it seems that you have a new collection coming out soon. PANIC stations, as I still have a lengthy list of 'want' dies from your last collections. Oh well, jam and bread from now on.lol Hugs xx Pauline

What a beauty! My first thought was that the flowers looked like velvet. I have heard of Yuppo paper but never seen it anywhere. I will have a look online. I like white & a pop of red for Christmas, seems to be approaching too quick. Thank you Sue.

Hello Sue,

I love the purity of this card done all in white with the pop or red from the poinsettia flowers. I like the color you have obtained with the alcohol inks on Yupo paper. I can imagine its glorious in person, not as easy to pick up on the computer screen.

Have a wonderful day and stay safe with the hurricane approaching.

Hi Sue. Sorry I am a bit late today (internet issues). Love red and white for Christmas with a Scandi feel. On first glace I thought that the poinsettias had been glittered, but on looking at the close-ups I can see what you have done and I love it (now if I could just master the alcohol inks on Yupo paper technique I would be laughing!!!!!)
