Feel Better Soon

Morning all!  I have been playing with the hexagons for today's card.  I started with a piece of coconut white card and embossed it with the Aztec Flower embossing folder for texture.  Next I cut the outer decorative frame section from the Classic Adorned Hexagon Nobles out of both blue dusk card and black card.  I offset the black behind the blue and glued it to the card.  I cut the next section of the die in the same manner, but attached the left sides of the frame on top of the first one to offset the entire frame.  Finally, I cut the next section down in the set the same way and skewed it to the left as well.  All three frames and their shadows were lined up at the left corner and glued into place.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with the Stitched flags die, lightly inking the edges.  I stamped the Pinwheel Flower stamp in black and cut it out with the Pinwheel Floral dies, inked the edges with Stormy Sky ink and assembled into a 3D flower.  I mounted it on a thin white satin ribbon bow and added white leaves from the set as accents.  White, blue dusk and black mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are
8 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Lovely card Sue. So very elegant.
Donita, I googled DEAF1 but it was quite medical in the descriptions. I have got a much better idea from your description. That is what you will bring to people's awareness, the human side of the illness and the impact on the sufferer and families. So sad that in this world, so many scammers have spoiled it for genuine sufferers. I hope the girl and her family get the help they need. Keep up the good work, you are a trooper.
Elaine, has Trici been fixed yet? I had to laugh as I have never thought of naming my laptop or iPad.
Little lamb, well done on your craft fair successes. I have the Industrial Chic dies but have not yet used them. Must try them soon.
Saba, glad your back is behaving, just take it carefully so you are fit and well for Christmas.
Cheryl, like you, I think I was so lucky to have my husband in my life. I feel your pain but I know you have wonderful memories to keep you going. Sending a special hug fior you.
Maureen, thank you, I have had a quiet weekend, just resting and crafting. Made 4 Christmas cakes, a mixed media circular canvas board picture that I am delighted with.
Daily hugs to all, keep warm and well. Special hugs to missing and poorly friends.

Morning Sue and firstly thank you. Thank you for doing what you do, thank you for Particraft and thank you for designing your own brand of dies, if it wasn't for all of that I wouldn't have found myself showing the tools you have given me at a craft market. It was freeezing even though my table was indoor it's not called The Barn due to its warmth, so I struggle a little but came away with a smile and very few of the festive cards I'd made which puts me in the position to choose which of this year's festive dies I need ready for next year and the globe plus the gingerbread guys will be at the top of my treat to me list ☺ so thank you Sue, the sales I had were all down to your tools and inspiration.
And this sample just shows what you do perfectly. Simple but so effective, both you and your designs really have opened up a different meaning to card making and bought out the talent of so many people round the globe. Now that's something to be proud of.
Sending you extra big hugs as a thank you for your help and just for being you ☺ xxx

Dear Sue and Friends,

Not content to be merely beautiful, your hexagons also perform in an unusual arrangement, and it works!

Stephanie Cotterill isn't the only one who feels that way. You've inspired so many acts of beauty, kindness, thoughtfulness and love to be shared all over the world. And like Stephanie said, you've brought out the talent of so many of your fans. That's a lot! It boggles!

Thank you, Wilsonettes, for caring.

Maureen, I'm glad you're a friend to Maureen. Especially this time of year. We all need to keep ourselves well.

Pam, will you freeze those cakes?

Love,
Donita

Wow what a stunning card today, I just love how pretty these hexicans are and don't they look gorgeous offset like that. Very effective. I must say the flower is gorgeous today too, stamping it first gives so much detail to it. Thank you for sharing.

Pam echoing your comments today. I must say your idea of a lazy weekend and mine are completely different! My daughter names various pieces of equipment, Lenny the laptop for example and takes huge delight in finding puns for things like the name of the wifi! We had quite a laugh when we stayed with her over just these simple things! Xxx
Donita Pams cakes will be a lovely moist rich fruit cake which is a traditional Christmas cake here. You make it in advance so it matures and 'feed' it with alcohol so it tastes heavenly. You then cover it with marzipan and icing towards Christmas Day. It's something we look forward to each year in our house, it may last until January but it's a real treat. Xxx

Hi Sue
Beautiful card i must get these Hexagon dies as they do make a statement .

Trixi is posing to be a problem ,after 2 hrs working on her she decided to play up even more , she didnt keep switching off but the screen started rolling and wouldnt stop , but hey ho Johns friend is persistent and carried on trying bless him, but sadly we still have some of the same problems so its a bit hit n miss at the moment .

Donita ,You are doing a great job making us all aware .xx

Pam I started calling her Trixi because of all the tricks she seemed to be playing on me , shuddering, no capitol letter working ,giving me a blank screen , scrolling down when i was pressing the up key ,and so it goes on LOL i think i have a gremlin in it somewhere .
Sounds like you had a busy productive weekend ,hope your week goes well .

Well my friends i will try to catch up with you all today if i can .

Hi Sue,

Those hexagons look wonderful offset like that - such a simple idea but so effective although I have to admit that it's not helping me to decide which of the three sets I need first - I keep changing my mind as I can't afford all three at once!...

Donita - thank you for the feedback - this DEAF1 sounds awful - I feel so sorry for that poor girl and her mum trying to raise funds to help her daughter - perhaps her doctor can get some research facility interested as the condition is so rare...but I'm guessing this story will not have a happy ending.

Hi Sue, a pretty card and the blue dusk card is such a lovely shade. The Pinwheel Flower stamp is unusual and really adds that something extra, I should maybe sneak it onto my Christmas list. The Pinwheel Floral dies are already on the list along with all of the hexagons and several others. I would like to see a 'Hope you' stamp as I think 'Feel Better Soon' sounds too much like an instruction or command but that is probably just me being fussy :-)

Hello Sue,
The hexagon dies are fabulous and the way they've been offset really makes them "pop".
Pam your idea of resting made me laugh. Making 4 Christmas Cakes with all that entails, and a circular mixed media sounds pretty busy to me!
Littlelamb, well done at the fair.
Donita, you have no idea how lovely our group are, and Myra is just Myra. She puts up with an awful lot, especially from me and, as you say, we all need our friends. I am so lucky that these ladies came into my life, plus a few others. I'm hoping Pam will send me a food parcel with one of those cakes ha ha.
Diane, I'm the only one in the family who eats Christmas cake, so mine lasts until June, lovely with an apple or a piece of cheese - or even better both ha ha.
Elaine, do what Saba suggests and give Trixi a slap. A letter often doesn't print on mine, usually because there's a crumb in the keyboard lol. Hope everyone is keeping well.
Alimecca, hope you enjoyed the gym, is that possible?
Fluffycat Francis, that's a brilliant idea. A "Hope you" stamp could be added to lots of our standard sentiments.
Tracy sending love.
Carmen, has there been lots of news on Canadian TV about Price Harry and Megan?
love to all our missing or poorly friends.
