Sending Good Wishes Your Way

Hello bloggers!  I had so much fun making this stepper card with the new Tropical Collection, I just had to share it.  Although they are a bit difficult to photograph, they are just so much fun to make, I hope you will give it a go.  I started with a piece of milk card and folded it so that there were three sections, each a slight bit higher than the previous one.  I do apologise as I didn't write down the exact measurements I used, but I believe they were 5 1/2" wide by just over 11 1/2" long.  I scored at 1 1/2", 3", 5", 7" and 9 1/2" and accordion folded it to create the base piece.  Next I cut the palm trees from the Island Paradise die set in both kraft card and green card (from my stash).  I cut just the top fronds off of the green card and glued it onto the kraft card palm trees.  I added three of the palm trees to the back base area.  I cut the hammock and attached it to two of the trees by just cutting into the loops and wrapping around the trunks then gluing them to the back.  I cut the airplane and banner and stamped the banner with a small birthday stamp I found in my stash (I think it was from an old Justrite set, but I am not positive). I glued the plane and banner to the tops of the palm trees like it was just flying by.  On the middle section I added the last palm tree and cut the adirondack chair, umbrella, cocktail drink (a pina colada in my mind) and beach ball from the On The Beach die set.  I cut the umbrella in both kraft card and red card.  I used the kraft card umbrella as a base and cut the top part of the red umbrella off and glued it to the kraft base so it looked like it had a wood handle.  On the front section, I used the words from the Message in a Bottle set cut in black and I made three Hibiscus with leaves of varying colours to add to the left of it.  I made the smaller pair of flip flops out of raspberry and straw card and added them to the right of the sentiments.  I glued some course sand to all the open areas on the back two layers to help give it that tropical feel.  I hope you like it!  All for now, Sue x

Laine, sorry about the migraine, maybe feeling tense about Mums procedure started it off. Hope Mum is feeling much better now she's home.
CraftySuetoo, good that they finally did MRI, now we just need her better and out if Hospital fir you to feel better too.
Maureen, hope you are steadily making progress honey, you must be fed up of the hospital by now, just want you home with George. Shame about missing the big meet up, as with us you will be waiting for updates from the culprits, at least you can't get the blame this time.
Elaine, I didn't get your email, pam_hackett@tiscali.co.uk, try again please it would be lovely to hear from you. Hope Andrew and Helen are okay, know the funeral was some time this week.
Yvonne, they keep banging on at Work about staff engagement, we keep telling them we are engaged, its staff morale that is rock bottom, they don't even understand the difference. What hope do we have.
June hope the Craft group went well, one day I will walk in there and surprise you, me too, it's so far away.
Hugs to all, thinking of our missing and poorly friends, Wheeley, Maureen, Norah, Tina T and Tina and many more.

Bits n bob's form the Tropical collection would make a lovely card for honeymooners I feel, something fun to send them in their way ☺ (or a fun card to send 'Our Sam' to get her even more excited about their tropical holiday which is looming) so all in all a happy fun card to start our day. Hello Sue,

Elaine I think you need an extra big hug today so there is one winging it's way to you. Hope all goes well tomorrow, thinking of you all.
CraftySue, that's just ridiculous, hope you have your mum's results by now.
Laine hope you are feeling better today, if you try the banana treatment I'd love to see a photo!

Myra it might have been a surprise visit but it was a lovely one!

So glad Maureen is coming home tomorrow, she's had her nails painted red and Myra has christened her " the scarlet woman". We've also started calling her Peggy but that's another story!

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What an inventive card and so totally unlike your usual samples, such a refreshing change. I adore the step formation, its the perfect platform for your fun, cheery Tropical Accessory dies. The plane flying overhead is fab, the hammock is cool and inviting and the cocktail is very tempting:-) They set the scene for an idyllic getaway in the tropics, a touch of escapism that definitely puts a smile on my face:-)....is that real sand on the card though Sue, just wondered because its so effective?
Well, my friends, thankyou for all your kind well wishes not just for me but for my Mum too, they're really appreciated...its a waiting game at the moment though, my Mum has a lump on her breast and is due her mammogram next Tuesday, we remain positive until told otherwise though, hopefully we will find out that afternoon because she sees the consultant also.
Had a friend over for a coffee this afternoon which is great when you have other stuff on your mind, it provides a welcome distraction......slight drawback though is that she hates cats and boy does Brodie torture her:-) He slinks around her legs, climbs onto the sofa next to her and tries to climb inside her handbag, all intended to irritate and make her as uncomfortable as possible, it's so funny to watch:-)
Pam, hope you haven't taken on too much too soon due to pressure from your work, hope you are feeling stronger and ready to face that daily grind. Sending hugsxxx
Elaine, I don't know whether to be sad that Andrew has missed another treatment, or glad because he will therefore be fitter to help Helen tomorrow at the funeral.....either way i hope that you all find the reserves to see you through what will be an emotionally difficult time. I am thinking of you all as always, with hugs winging there way to you tooxxx
Carmen, I won't spoil the surprise and reveal if my prediction before the finale was correct....even I'm not THAT cruel:-)....all that I will say is that it was a fitting, but sad end to what has been a fabulous series, hope you enjoy it!
Myra, excellent news about Maureen, George must be so relieved to have her home again:-) We can only hope that she has learned her lesson, the hard way, that gin at breakfast is not a nutritious start to the day!:-) Are you getting steadily excited about the meeting of the Naughty Nine? Not long to go now my dear:-)
Frances, glad that your hubby has made improvements since his illness, maybe a spot of light gardening during the better weather will help him improve further?
P, thinking of you and little Saffron every day, hope she is comfortable and happy, she's most definitely loved, that's for sure!:-)
Lynda, thanks for thinking about my Mum, I hope that you are well too and enjoying a bit of the Easter sunshine....lighter, brighter days always make you feel better:-) Hugs right back honeyxxx
Sending cuddles to all my blog besties, including Saba, Pam, Deb C, Norah, Wheely, Donita, Diane, Theresa, June, Tina, NanaTina, members of the Naughty Nine and anyone else in need of a big hugxxx

Crafty hugs

PS. I suppose I shouldn't leave out Yvonne, she knows my address and there would be recriminations guaranteed!:-)xxx

Hi Sue,
What a fun card, I am sure you enjoyed making this one.
I think It is totally out of your comfort zone OR should I say miles away from the cards you normally bring to us.,
But great, I LOVE IT.
Thank you for your wonderful inspiration, love and hugs, Brenda xxx

Hi Sue,

Vacation, vacation, vacation & lot of fun! This card ticks all the boxes for me! Wish to be on that beach, relaxing and enjoying my drink(s) or at least to get a card like this for my b-day! (With a plane ticket inside :) ,of course!)

Elaine - Special thoughts, prayers and hugs for Helen & Andrew and you.
Lynda – I sent an email asking when they will offer Sue’s new dies & stamps. Hopefully soon.
Laine – You have a lot on your plate right now. Sorry. I really hope everything to go well for your mum next Tuesday.
Saba – I know that there are things you can't control. The more I think about getting that order the more excited I am. I wish to find it tomorrow in my mail box!
Pam – we had a training last year (a total of 10 sessions, an hour each) about Communication, Listening, Dealing w Difficult People, etc.etc. All managers had to get this training as well. I found “funny” that nothing was related to them, only to the rest of us. The lady, who conducted this training, by coincidence, is Romanian. At the end of the last session I asked, out of curiosity, if she really believes all this b____ t she presented. She told me that one of our Directors decided what each section should be about and she wasn’t allowed to mention anything about bad managers & management, favoritism, etc. Conclusion: The Managers are perfect, we are the problem. And replaceable, as our GM mentioned in his first speech when he got the job!

Hugs,
Still a newbie to Craft / Not longer the newest, or the only Canadian Wilsonette
