Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  Today's card giveaway is a pretty blush and silver number (yes there is still just a bit of blush card left in my stash, but soon it will become a collector's item!)  Just for info, the blush card hasn't been discontinued, the paper mill that produced it has gone out of business!  We are actively looking for a replacement though, fingers crossed.   I started by embossing the coconut white background with the Dot Matrix Pinpoint folder for some lovely texture.  I decided that I just had to make this into a petticoat card using the Blossom Edger die set.  I cut three silver outlines from the Blossom Edger set then cut the coordinating solid out of blush card and attached them on to a tiered silver bottom section.  For the focal element, I cut the Maldives die set out of silver shine card and used it as the backdrop.  I cut the Seychelles out of blush card and layered it on top.  I used the inner die from the Maldives and cut it into a frame and seated it over my stamped sentiment.  The focal element was adorned with blush poppies seated on satin ribbon and Metallic Lynx as accents.  The card was completed with white, blush and silver mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be entered into the drawing to win this one.   The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.   All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue. How much do I need this embossing folder it's so pretty. It's quite strange because I was thinking of using the edger the same way only yesterday, thinking about it was as far as I got, but now you've shown me just how pretty it will look, then I know I was right, yes, that's what I'll do on my half made card from way back when ! Thank you for giving us the chance to give this sweet, beautiful card a home, you yourself are so sweet.

Hi Sue and everyone who, like me, hopes to win this card,

What I like best about this one, besides how pretty it is, is the concept of alternating the colors as you layer up diecuts from coordinating sets. Note to self: Get at least two from each range as they come out. Also, I wonder if a ruffle effect would be possible with the daisy cluster. I just went to check on that name and was delighted to discover I have the daisy edger. Woohoo!

Craftyanna, I hope you get some relief.
Myra, feeling almost normal does seem like a newsworthy thing to report. I don't know if I've ever felt normal.
Peter G, you are among like-minded souls, loving our fur family members and watching Sue Wilson videos for inspiration and solace.

Love,
Donita

Lovely card. The petticoat effect is a very attractive one.

Like you and many of the blog followers, I too ration my blush card which was amongst the first batch I bought up at CE after one of Julia's classes. LIke Elizabeth, I have been known to take it it out to use then put it back because I know the colour is replaceable. However, I am going to have to explore this blush and silver combination because it looks so good.

You didn't mention about how you glittered the flowers. Is it diamond snow or a glitter pen? Or is my iPad showing something that is not there!!!!!!

Hi Sue, sorry I missed yesterday's blog comment but the card was a real stunner. Once again you have delighted us with your Wednesday 'give away' card. I enjoy making petticoat cards because they fill nearly half of the card so I don't need to add much more detail. How uncreative am I or is it laziness, but I do like the flower border.
This is terrible news though Sue.......... Blush card has disappeared almost ......nearly as rare as hen's teeth. However I just happen to have a couple of bottles of sparkling Blush wine here in the fridge so cheers everyone. I might not have any blush card but I might not even care soon!,,,, Hugs xx P Austen

Beautiful card in such a pretty colour combination, hopefully you will find a new supplier of the 'blush' shade of card very soon! It's almost 'peachy pink' hues, work perfectly with the silver grey.
Good luck everyone

Hello Sue,
Thank you so much for sharing such a pretty card today! It's beautiful. The petticoat detail is so delicate and pretty! I don't have any of the Dies but have the heart edger one which may look pretty done in the same way! As everyone else has said already , the colours are beautiful! I still have some blush pink card and thank you for letting us know that CE is looking for another company who can make a similar shade! It is a big favourite!
Tracy - I too laughed at the " slightly loopy!" . Depends on your definition of loopy I guess!
PP and Laine , nice to see you both - I think!! Lol!
Pat L - first of all I hope you have a lovely time with Tracy! Secondly Maureen isn't unwell . I'm hoping she will come back to the blog as I think she will be missed! However I'm a bit biased!
Elaine - sorry to hear the Chemo has been deferred! It's so hard - so near and yet so far ! These things are hard to take when you just want it all to be over and done with. Thinking of you all!
P Austen! Cheers!
Carmen - yes I'm happy with nearly back to normal! Ha ha!
Gloria - congratulations on the birth of your lovely little granddaughter!
Love to all, Myra xxx

Hello Sue,
What a stunning card. It's got such a pretty gentle look to it. The Maldives and Seychelles dies used together are a match made in heaven as is the blush and silver card and I love how you have used the blossom edger as a petticoat trim, it's beautiful. Thank you for giving us all the opportunity to love and cherish this card.

Elaine I am so very sorry Andrews treatment won't be going ahead tomorrow, sending you a gentle hug.
Tracy and Pat I am so excited for you both, so looking forward to hearing about your meet up.
P. Austen I like your style, I'll join you in a glass or two!
Laine and PP I just love your banter and Laine hope today has been a good one for you.
Love and hugs for all

Fabulous card for the giveaway today. Whoever wins this will be so lucky.
Should be back to normal tomorrow. We arrived home this afternoon after a lovely, restful holiday and had a fabulous time with our Canadian friends.
On our return we spent a couple of hours with our daughter and grandchildren. The two older ones were so pleased to see us. The younger of the two forgot we'd met her baby sister before our holiday and had to tell us all about her. Unfortunately baby Lola had to have a small operation while we were away as she was tongue-tied and not feeding properly. She is also still very slightly jaundiced and has had to have blood tests and so on to make sure there's no underlying problem. So far so good. She has grown so much while we've been away so I think she'll be fine now.
Hope all is well with everyone. I will be reading comments again and catching up on everyone's news now I'm home.
Keep snug and warm.
Crafty hugs to all,
D xx

Hi Sue,
This is a really beauty! It is my favorite card since I joined to this blog! So sweet and girlie! Lovely colors! The blush card makes the difference and the petticoat adds the wow factor.( Good luck to find a new paper mill for the blush card!).
The lucky winner is going to be thrilled to receive this one. Thank you for your generosity, Sue!

Pam - When I see your comment on the top I know that the day will be just fine. So nice to have you back on the top spot!
-
Elaine – sorry to hear the Chemo has been delayed. It's hard, but you have to think positive and be optimistic. It is a bump in the road only. A co-worker went thru similar situation. He’s only 26 years old. The youngest in our office. The doctors send him home many times because his immune system was low. Not everything went as planned during of months and months of treatment, but today it is the big day for him having the surgery. All the best for both of you!
-
D/ Dragonsnap2 – Glad to here you had a great vacation. (I need a vacation, too.)Best wishes to baby Lola. Lovely name.
-
Laine – Welcome back! Glad to hear you are feeling better and you did something to boost your confidence. We need this once in a while, no matter our age!
-
Yvonne – Did you have a word with Laine? Between you and me, I think that she’s the troublemaker ... when she’s around!
-
Myra - “nearly back to normal!” – is fine. 100% back to normal – is a dream for most of us!
-
“P” in Wales- Well said. It is really good to have both Laine & Yvone here on one day. Their antics are very entertaining!
-
Good luck everyone!
