Just For You

Hi bloggers!  I thought I shouldn't neglect some of the dies from recent release so here is a milk and duck egg blue card that uses the Seychelles die set.  I started by cutting the decorative die on both sides of a piece of milk card.  I backed it with Duck Egg blue for contrast. I cut a strip of double cream pearls down the middle and added them to the side edges of the background.  Next I cut the Seychelles in milk card and backed just the central part of it with duck egg card, leaving the lacy edge area open.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the inner die and inked it with Aqua Adirondack ink.  I seated it in the centre of the card with mounting foam.  Next I used the Exquisite Poppy die cut out of milk card adhered to sticky adhesive sheets.  I coated them with Iced Snow to add bling before using them to accent the sentiment in opposite corners. Flatback cream pearls were added to the die cuts before milk and duck egg mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Lovely card Sue. I ordered the Chrysanthemum and Butterfly Cascade dies yesterday.
Was going to get more but my grandson Jack wanted a double bed for his new bedroom as his twin had one and poor Mum had no money left after the house move so I bought it. He is really delighted with it and slept so well on the first night it was assembled. He sent me a phot of it made up with his New York bedding. Gotta save up again now.
Welcome back Margaret and Hazel, whatever your absence you are still Wilsonettes and it's good to see you.
June hope the hospital appointment went well.
Tina, take care my dear, you have had a tough time, we want you well.
Elaine, I hope Andrew improves soon, it's so unpleasant for him.
Dragonsnap, glad you arrived safely and have great weather, enjoy yourselves, you deserve it.
Donita, it has been amazing listening to your holiday tales, enjoyed them so much. Safe journey home.
Girls, you are making me so jealous about your meet up, it sounds quite a blast, how many are going and where will you be. I hope you all have the greatest time.
Hugs to all including missing friends, Laine, Wheeley, Yvonne, thinking of you.

Morning Sue. What a delightful wake up call. Duck egg blue is such a pretty shade, another to add to my card stock collection. Talking of collections, I have such a naughty confession to make ! Being so excited and thrilled to open my Xmas gifts of SB accessories whilst away and making a few for last month's market, plus not going into my craft space since, I was looking for a particular foliage die yesterday, and surprisingly came across two of the Pacific dies that has also been a gift for my birthday which is close to the festive season ! I was so busy getting packed and organising lists for a few weeks away I must have put them in my die box ready to put on a magnetic sheet and forgotten I had them !! Along with the guilt I felt I was chuffed to bits as they were the 2 I'd been admiring on recent blog samples, I feel really bad to think this wonderful man has spoilt me, blamed you for another metal filled birthday and Christmas yet I forget I had them ! Maybe it's time to get my mojo back and shake myself up and get back into the swing of card making again, I'm also moving a large box around a tiny room that i cant bare to recycle as its a box my craft shop owner gave me to take our dried food away with us but it came direct from CE towers with her delivery of CE goodies in with CE wrapping sticky tape all over it lol, its SO in my way lol but im such a saddo lol i must be if im keeping a massive box just cuz it has connections with my fav company - i need some serious treatment me thinks 😕 oh well, thats the text to tell me my 2 are making their way back from the country park so ill send you a big hug and hope you have a happy day xxx

Morning Sue,
A fabulous card today. I don't think I have any of the duck egg blue card. I have nearly every other colour and I am expecting some Mocha and Papyrus to be delivered today if the postman is kind.
I have been looking after a friends twelve year old dog since 27th December while she has been in New Zealand visiting her sons. She is coming to collect her today and take her home. We will miss her and so will my two dogs, but I am pleased to hand her back safe and well. I haven't been in my craft room very much as she is totally deaf and I haven't wanted to leave her for very long, so perhaps I can now and want to try and replicate some of your beautiful card designs.

Love and hugs
Dawn Searle 😘

Hi Sue and All,

I'll be glad when we see how to make cards from the new release. But if you're busy making deadlines for yet another another release, take your time!

Pam, thank you for summing up everybody's news from the day before. Very helpful to get a summary, and to be your chorus.

Spent my last day in Paradise cleaning and making post cards to race home. Getting up in a few hours to catch my plane. Even coffee doesn't get up that early.

Enjoy your Thursday! It's almost the weekend!

Hello Sue,
How gorgeous is the card today? So light and fresh looking.
Pam, Diane hasn't mentioned the Manageress at the hotel who gave us all the necessary plates etc. so that we could have a party in one of the rooms. Guess who's room ended up covered in crumbs, jam stains and other unmentionables? Yes - mine ha ha. She didn't mention the BBC interviewer for the Politics Programme from Gretna, or the young men and railway guards who always help me with my trolley. Of course the fact that I'm 25 yrs older than Diane has nothing to do with it ha ha!! Norah and Diane are the "babes" in the group but I particularly like going on the back of Norah's scooter when she's doing "wheelies" in the hotel car park!!!! Myra and Hazel are the chauffeurs once we get there, boy talk about white knuckle rides ha ha (Ooh, I'm definitely in big trouble). We have a marvellous time.
Enough - I send love to all, hope Donita has a safe journey home and that Dragonsnap has a wonderful holiday. Pam hope your chest is behaving - and Tina that Owen recognises you with your hair done! June S, good news from the Consultant.
Laine and Yvonne, I hope you are just busy and not poorly.

Glenharon said...

Good evening Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is such a beautiful combination of colours Sue, so soothing, so pretty as the milk is that soft winter white sort of a colour that makes a winning combination for me. Unfortunately i can't say that i've even been to othe Seychelles through your dies because i don't have them either so it's bonnie Scotland for me, but it's a beautiful card flower and since i have a get well or thinking of you card to make for my friend Margaret to give to one of her neighbours who is going into hospital, this would make a lovely combination along with the Spanish dies(which i loveeeeee). Thank you flower for bringing such a lovely card to our viewing today. Sorry i've not been in the last couple of days but unfortunately this chest and lung infection is just flooring me at the moment. I called up the doctors yesterday for an appointment if i couldn't get a repeat perscription for the antibiotics but it such a long distance to walk as my doctors reception is the furtherest away in the community hospital and the breathing just wasn't for playing nicely to let me get along, but the lassie called me back about half an hour after i had phoned to tell me that another perscription was on it's way out to me via the chemist, so fingers crossed that this works.
Now girls if you can imagine a 6' toddler(as Diane is just 1 year older than me), and the 5' baby(and i'm the quietest, don't let that Saba kid you on) and the antics of getting me in to restuarants because we walk(that's the royal we and purely figuratively speaking)as some toddle back as if they are in their teens again because their new shoes are hurting their feet, others get lost frequently and in general it is the best legal fun that you can have in such a short space of time. I am so lucky to have found 8 lovely people that are as mad as me and that enjoy every minute of each others time, although by the racket that some of them makes coming up to their beds singing along the corridors, it's a wonder we still get allowed in and not out the back in the shed, lol. April can't come soon enough for the fun and frolics to begin.
Pam flower, your wee pal is enjoying your die money more getting a lovely new bed that will last him a good few years. Seeing his pictures that he has taken shows just how much he loves his new "big" bed. When i was in my late teens i got a double bed that had the lift up for the storage underneath and i loved it. That bed went to my husbands uncle years later when he needed a new bed in his flat and saw a lot more years of use, so it was definitely money well spent. My Rory now has an almost identical bed that he stores all his treasures in so that his dad doesn't get at them, but at least he doesn't go hiding inside it like my brother used to do to mine and drive mum of her head looking for him.
Donita flower, i'm glad you have had a wonderful holiday and even better with your Dad, it's memory will last a much longer time after it's past, that's time that you can never get back. Safe journey home flower to you and your Dad.
Dragonsnap, enjoy your holiday away to such an idyllic paradise and meeting your Canadian friends, have fun and glad you have arrived safely.
Andrew, i hope that you start to pick up again soon flower, not many of these horrible things left to go and then you can concentrate on getting well again and living life to the max.
Tina flower, i hope that you are ok and trying to keep yourself busy, but i know that there is only so much cleaning that can be done, but sending you hugs.

Sue this another beautiful card that just brightens up the day with that gorgeous colour.
I love the die as a background and love that it looks fab how you have used
it for this card and that it looks equally beautiful on its own.
This is definately a real beauty.

Gorgeous card & lovely colour combo Sue. As I am wearing my crafting halo tonight for sorting all my cardstock out & putting them in labelled suspension files in my cabinet, I know I have the necessary card & dies, so will use this idea, if you don't mind!!!! Thanks xx

Hi Sue. Another absolutely gorgeous card again today !!! I can't believe you used Duck egg blue cardstock. I just finished a card yesterday using my new Duck egg blue cardstock !!! I used coconut white card with mine but now I have seen your card with the milk cardstock I think it goes better than the coconut white does. The Seychelles die is Sooo beautiful Sue. I really do love this card, especially with the pearls and those amazing ice snow Exquisite Poppies. I think using the same die to make a background and also the focal topper is a fab idea Sue. I really want to have a go at making my own version of this card. I have not yet made any Ice Snow Exquisite Poppies so I really need to make those too !!! Thank you for sharing this beauty with us today. Lots of love to you Sue from Tres x x x

Lots of love to everyone from Tres x x x

I love that this card (and a beauty) was made almost completely with the one die. We can stretch a lot of our owned dies in just this way assuming we (at least I) would have thought of it without Sue.
Sounds like you ladies have wonderful meet-ups and have a lot of fond memories to share.
Everyone have a good evening (?),

Very interesting card, love the color you have chosen. The dies are different and complementing at the same time.

Hi sue.
Fabulous card really love the colour combo and flowers too so cute. Really need the die now lol.

Pat l. No I've not booked the holiday. That got flung to the side this week after having my consultation at the ivf clinic.
Now that it's time this year to put my wee embryos back in after the cancer treatment last year we were told because I turn 43 in a few weeks we need to pay for the treatment. That was a bummer!!!
However we are planning a few days in Ireland for my birthday at the beginning of march if graeme doesn't get any more overtime flung at him lol xx

Sue, this is a lovely card, but isn't it the Maldives die that you have used? The Seychelles die is straight down the sides and a lot smaller. I have just gone onto the site that I bought my dies from and this is definitely the Maldives die.
