For Someone So Special

Hi bloggers!  I thought today I would show you a card made with one of the Stamps To Die For that coordinate with the dies.  I started this card by embossing a piece of vellum with the Dotted Daisies Pinpoint embossing folder.  I attached it to a piece of wisteria card so that there was a soft lavender colour behind it.  I stamped the Eastern Mandala Stamp To Die For in black and cut i out with the matching Fiji die.  I inked it with Chic Viola Colour Cloud all over, then went back and did just the edges with Decadent Denim.  I added it to the centre of the embossed back ground with mounting foam.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with the Fiji hexagon and added a thin Blue mat using the larger hexagon from the Bora Bora.  I made two flowers using the Striped Nasturtiums edging them with Chic Viola and spritzing with water.  I seated them on white satin ribbon.  I added the entire piece to a larger mat cut from French Navy card.  I added a paved pearl border using white PVA glue dots of varying sizes. A simple white on white mat was used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Beautiful card Sue, it's gorgeous. Well done to your CE colleagues, they did a fantastic job on Hochanda.
John especially showcased your dies to perfection. I picked up so many tips from him. Nice to see Dave Bradford has joined Hochanda too.
Elaine, I hope you enjoyed your day with Andrew and Helen, and that you are feeling better. It may be that you have what the doc thinks I have, viral flu, tiredness and aching limbs is symptomatic, but you have been through so much with your boys and the family it is bound to take its toll. Take care and rest lovely lady.
Tina and Owen, I hope you are coping well at this sad difficult time, as Laine put it so beautifully, your friends on the blog are here for you, you always have my support.
Good to hear Yvonne's parents are on the mend. Tried to imagine Yvonne in the car with dad driving at 20 miles per hour, but hey, at 80 he does well to drive at all. Hopefully mum will be home soon to enjoy her girl's roasties.
Donita, I want to come to one of your craft parties, what a ball you all had.
Laine, what a gorgeous treat from Sue for you. You can now officially open a Sue Wilson Card Gallery with your win. Enjoy them all honey.
June, you sound so well, hope the knee is behaving itself.
Hugs to all, especially NannaTina, Wheeley and all missing friends. Norah you are a star.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, what a lovely card today, I especially like the idea of embossing a vellum sheet and adding to the card and then also all the PVA glue dots of various sizes, looks so good, but of course the stamp is the centre piece.

I reiterate what Pam said about the Hochanda shows over the weekend, I spent such a long time yesterday just reviewing John's shows, take screen shots of the cards I would like to make and getting all the tips and techniques, I have been awake since 4am with them all still going through my head, just got to find the time now to do them. Need to do the same for Phill and Julia's shows now before they are taken off, oh I wished Virgin Media would take on Hochanda.

Pam hope you are on the mend and feeling a little better every day.

Elaine, it is only natural that you are feeling low, you have had so much to deal with, but remember your friends here are supporting you, Andrew and Helen all the way.

So good to hear that Yvonne's parents are on the mend, wow 80 years old and still driving around, that is an achievement these days, there are such mad drivers on the road.

Yes Pam the replacement knee is getting there, hopefully last physio joint school on Wednesday. I am walking about without my stick so that is a good sign.

Laine, how wonderful that our Sue sent you all the goodies and extra ones as well, I have got a Sue giveaway which sits on the shelf above my head and I look at it every day, it is red, black and white with the most gorgeous black bow on the front, and her trade mark pierced holes around the layers, it really is a joy to see, I know you will enjoy all of your gifts.

Tina and Owen, Tina, Tracey, and anyone else who needs a special hug, here it is....

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Oh my word Sue, what a start to our crafting week. It's absolutely beautiful and so many different techniques, embossing, stamping and colour highlighting, die cutting and the paved pearl border, and your flowers look so delicate, could we ask for a better start, I think not. It was a real treat to see the CE team take over the weekend, it was starting to resemble another craft channel with one specific brand showing a little more than others, so it was great to see the cream of craft do their 'stuff'
Another week if friendly hugs and Sue, here's the first ☺ have a good day xxx

Didn't get to see much of the shows but pleased to spot Dave Bradford, he's such a good presenter. Never did catch up with Craft Channel when he left C&C.
Laine - slightly green with envy, but do have my gallery of One Sue Card! Great that PP's parents are doing well, hope we get a Maureen update!

Fabulous card and a great start to the week. There's just something about blue and white together that I love.

Pam, hope you're feeling a bit better. I know we moan about the weather being cold but a two week spell of below zero temperatures would get rid of many of the nasty bugs around at the moment. At least according to my GP!

Big hugs to all who are suffering or in need.

Happy crafting.

A paved pearl background has always been a favourite of mine, i have tried it on a number of occasions....memorably, i had just laboured over one, getting it perfectly spaced and balanced only for Brodie to jump on the table out of nowhere and stand on it! We had a trail of cosmic shimmer paw prints across the wooden flooring that took a fair bit of elbow grease to remove:-) The star of the show is the stamping though, it is a triumph and reminds me that i have to make more of an effort to use mine because the results are stunning. Lovely card Sue, be proud of your achievements.
I've had a fairly busy day today, going shopping then getting my hair dyed and trimmed....I'm doing it every four weeks in fear of any grey hairs giving away my age, i know, insufferably vain! Anyway, i have been rather excited because a number of websites have promised to preview Sues new die release....i have checked throughout the day but no joy until i came upon Sunrise crafts who are showing them in all their glory:-) To be honest, my excitement has merely escalated because i am just so super curious about what Sue will do with them, particularly the Kinetic Collection, the Fish Bowl and new Fillable Collection. Whew! Where Sue gets her endless stream of new ideas and concepts from is a mystery but aren't we the lucky ones to benefit from her creative genius.
Good news concerning Yvonne's Mum, she has been released back into the community and into Yvonne's care....I don't know whether to feel happy for her leaving hospital or mildly concerned that she is being entrusted into Yvonne's hands:-) I will concede though that after a few helpings of her excellent rosties she will be well on the road to good health.
Pam, how is that chest of yours, are you getting plenty of rest? What would the blog do without your cheery start to our day, it doesn't bear thinking about:-)
Maureen, are you making all of the necessary preparations for meeting royalty? Remember, only speak when spoken to and NEVER turn your back on a member of the Royal Family! I do hope that you have a suitable outfit in mind, nothing too low cut or above the knee, that would be unforgivable. Good Luck....you may need it!:-)
Myra, like you i would love to be a casual observer to this meeting, bet our ears will be burning! Do you think Maureen will handle the pressure of meeting a member of the aristocracy? :-)
Frances, I'm not surprised you heard a thud, the impact almost cracked the wooden flooring!:-)
Elaine, I'm so glad you've decided to visit your GP, lets hope they can help you to settle your sleep pattern....do you still have any trouble with the neighbours cat?
Tina, sending gentle hugs your way, you're coping admirably at the moment, i am so glad that you have good support networkxxx
June, well done you, getting rid of your stick is a major achievement!
P, how are your little babies, did they see their first snow last week? Brodie loves the snow, he tries to jump up in the air and catch the flakes, it's so comical:-)
Special hugs to all my besties including Tracy, Wheely,Deb C, Norah, Maria, Theresa, Alison and anyone i forget to mentionxxx

Crafty hugs and love

Hello Sue,
I'm late again! It's going to be one of those weeks I think!
I, too, love the paved pearl technique and haven't done it for a while! It always looks so lovely. Love this card and the Bora Bora Die is beautiful . The matching stamp is the icing on the cake! Thank you for all the inspiration.
June - great news - no stick! Take care though!
I'm afraid I've had to skim over today's news but I'm sure Pam will keep me right in the morning!
PP - great to " see" you! So pleased Mum is home . Your company , home cooking and nursing will have her good as New in no time!
Have a lovely time with Maureen! You are both so quiet I hope you manage to find something to talk about!!!
Laine - Maureen will handle the pressure! I just hope she doesn't wear her Tiara! It isn't always appropriate !!
Tina, Tina and Elaine! Take care. Thinking of you all.
Lots of love
Myra xx
