Best Wishes

Hello bloggers!  You had a peek at this one during one of the die launches, but it never had it's full day on the blog. I thought it was about time.  There is just something about these colours together that just has such a sort of Moulin Rouge sort of feel to me! LOL  I cut the Indian Ocean Background out of teal card and backed it with black.  I cut the next section of the die in black and backed it with white to lighten it a bit.  I added foam to raise it.  The next section went back to teal and backed in black and it was added with foam as well.  I stamped my sentiment and cut a frame using the inner die in the Charlotte die set.  I mounted the frame with foam and seated it over the sentiment.  The Cape Daisy was used to create three flowers of differing sizes.  I seated the flowers on some black satin ribbon in opposite corners.  The card was completed with white, black and teal mats.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Lovely card Sue, so beautiful.
I have read all of the comments yesterday and have been deeply saddened. I too agree that no one has to read the comments if they don't wish too, we thought this was a caring community showing compassion to people at a crossroads in their lives. I have had so much support from the blog when I lost Tim, and Robbies accident, I don't have a lot of people to talk to, and it helped me enormously.
I will respect Sues wishes, it is her blog after all,, but it was amazing that people said they never read the comments, or commented but still found the bandwagon to jump on. We non of us know what life will bring us.

Morning Sue. I thought I remembered this as it was slowly loading. The colours are amazing. I can now see why my cape daisy never looks the same - more layers is the answer. Hope you had a good New Years day Sue. Off home today will miss this quaint peaceful little chapel and the wonder of the 'big sky' that's been surrounding us.
Sending my daily hug your way xx

Gorgeous card, Sue, do remember this from the launch. Vibrant colours and great design, the Indian collection was - is - superb.
Yesterday you asked if we had any other favourites last year - so 7th August, red poppies on white background with black cross; 30th October, ovals within ovals with a peachy touch, and 7th December when you showed the poinsettia wreath. (But still like the distressed card best!) All really lovely. And 'saved' for reference.
Like Pam, so sad at some of the comments - some very unpleasant, no need. Have always tried to tread the line between too little and too much when commenting, both on a personal level and when supporting others. Won't stop caring, though.
Especially frustrated at the people who always look into the blog but never have time to comment - what??!! It only takes a few seconds to leave a message and it means so much to Sue. Enough said.
Hugs to all who need one.

Hi Sue, I love the design of this card and both the Indian Ocean background die and the Cape Daisies. I am now going to sound quite contrary - after loving the black Thank You orphan card on Saturday I have to say that overall this is a bit dark for me. I quite believe that in real life it is beautiful as I know that it is not always possible to get the true effect from a photograph, my own catalogue proves that!

Pam & ‘P’ – spot on and I agree with you both.

Hello Sue,
I'm much earlier today!
My visitors have just gone and I'm having a short break! Today's card is gorgeous - I wasn't sure about the cape daisies when
I first saw them as I thought they looked like stylised flowers if that makes any sense! However today's are really pretty! I'm sure you could make little button chrysanthemums with that Die too! I'm not a fan of teal usually but I really like this one and I love the Charlotte Die too.
I too agree with Pam and 'P' and it would be good to know that you are alright Elaine? The two Tina's too , sending love to all in need of a hug today! As for me- I just need a rest in chair for a bit! This entertaining lark is tiring! Lol!
Beautiful day here today again! White frost but beautiful sky and sunshine! Safe travel to those going home today.

Hi Sue,
I really do love teal and black together and those pretty Cape daisies are superb accents.
No crafting for me today sadly, it's taken me over four hours to pack away the tree...mainly because my little whirlwind decided he wanted to help out. He's been such a good kitten all the time it's been up but de idea today was the day he was going to let rip. I ended up wearing heavy duty garden gloves to stop him ripping my fingers to shreds (and this is after he had his claws clipped lol).
I've made a couple of new year resolutions, one is to watch Hochander more. I'm hanging my head in shame admitting that I was a Craft Channel watcher but after hearing something disconcerting about them the other day I'm now boycotting them, so I'm looking forward to watching the CE gang strut their stuff, even if I can't manage to buy too much. This year is going to be 'get my act together' year and I'm ordering some shelving units for my craft space which I hope will bring order to chaos so that I can enjoy a bit more space to actually craft in rather than have to keep moving things from a to be just to make space. Wish me luck as I'm not the tiniest of people.
Hugs to Pam, like you, I don't have many people to talk to. I left my friends to move 12 miles from my sister for support and now she's moved over 350 miles away so I've got no-one but my online family. I love the way that we can support each other as well as learn new crafting skills.
Let's all hope for a fruitful 2017 of crafting.
Bejay xx

Afternoon Sue
What a stunning card. Absolutely striking. I was bowled over by this card when I first saw it and have been equally impressed by seeing it again. I love the colours and the 'mood' they provoke but this card would be equally stunning in different colours and would therefore create a whole different feel to it x
And now I'm going to say something shocking! I'm going to make a card - I know get me!! I was going to attempt to recreate today's masterpiece but then realised I have none of the dies. Like JUNE I have enough cardstock to open a chain of shops let alone one shop. So loads of teal card and miles of black ribbon but my Sue die collection, extensive though it may be does not yet offer shelter to the Indian Ocean, Cape Daisy or Charlotte dies x
I could try and use different dies to do a half hearted copy but then that would be a guarantee that my first card of 2017 would be a reject/orphan x
So I will resort to plan B - choose a card that I have the dies for - that's the plan anyway - I'll let you know x
We have blue skies and sun and I am almost tempted to hang out some washing. However the energy reserves are going to be put to better use in the craft department x
My goodness, we really have started something of a 'discussion' over the last couple of days. I am sure that there was never an intention on any ones part to cause hurt or upset but some of the comments left following the initial 'fall out' have been a little insensitive.
One thing we all agree on is that this is the most amazing blog and the Wilsonettes family has some of the most amazing, warm and loving people in it.
I can understand that to a certain extent the length and content of certain comments may not be what one would expect from your average blog. However, at the heart of this amazing haven is one of the most amazing, talented and beautiful people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Laine and I had the pleasure of spending a little time chatting with Sue at Ally Pally in September and it was an absolute delight. She oozes warmth and compassion and her tireless hard work and dedication to go above and beyond is a rarity.
A number of people have mentioned that one of the things that has put them off is the number of comments. The work that Sue puts in to make this blog such a success deserves to be recognised and a steady rise in the number of followers is one reward that I think Sue would be delighted and touched by. So if the number of comments is an issue I feel you may be missing the point of this amazing forum.
Personally I love to read all the comments but this is not compulsory. When you click on the 'add a comment' link it takes you to the end of all the comments anyway, so a couple of encouraging words without having to read anything else is all it takes x
Please let's all work together to get this blog back up to having more followers than any other. If you pop in every day but don't leave a comment then make 2017 the year that this changes. Honestly, it would mean the world to Sue - 1 or 2 little adjectives - wouldn't take you a minute x
OK, lecture over. I really need to steer my little brain cell in the direction of my craft room. Wish me luck folks. I will let you know how I get on tomorrow x
Sending oodles of happy thoughts, love and good wishes to each and every one of you especially all of my wonderful blog besties - you know who you are x
Take care

Hi Sue
Love the design of this card. However, I wouldn't have put these two colours together, but actually they do work. So thanks Sue for showing us this combination.

Beautiful card!! I love that you have used black again! This color combo is stunning and goes for male or female cards, fun or elegant cards, happy or sad cards! Very versatile and striking!
I find it sad that so many seem to have a problem with people showing that they care for their fellow human beings. I am housebound and my only real contact with others is through blogs and social media and out of all the blogs I go to THIS is the kindest, most loving and caring blog of them all. It warms my heart to see comments encouraging those who need it or just sharing a funny anecdote with each other.
Those who don't "like" the comments don't have to read them. When you click on "post comment" it brings you right to the box to leave your comment without having to scroll through all the other comments. Don't read the if you don't want to but maybe you could take a different stance! Instead of disliking it, why not leave a comment saying that you hope all the other Wilsonettes are having a good day! It is amazing how being positive can make you feel better! You never know if the person writing their troubles in a comment is alone and lonely and just needs to reach out and find a little thing called COMPASSION and LOVE!
Off my soapbox now and I just want to end by saying that I am going to miss reading the Wilsonettes comments!
Have a great day everyone and Sue~ Thank you for this wonderful blog and tons of inspiration!

The Cape Daisies are an awesome accent die, unremarkable in their individual cut state but layer them together and magic occurs. I am so looking forward to what you have up your oh so generous sleeves this year Sue, i am wetting myself in anticipation of your next die launch...I'll have to practise those pelvic floor exercises then:-)
I don't know about you but I'm all confused by the day of the week and date at the moment, it will be nice to get a bit of normality back into my life again, no more cheesy Christmas movies to while away the afternoon when i should be doing housework, vats of fresh bread sauce....though the freezer has about 6 tubs ready and waiting....or bits of tinsel stuck to the cats nether regions:-)
I made another attempt at replicating Yvonne's scabby roasties with mixed reviews, my Mum loved them, they were golden brown and suitably scabby but i felt they lacked that vital crunch...i use goose fat, does anyone suggest a different lubricant for a crispier result?
Wondering if i should still be waffling on in my own special way but i find it difficult not to rabbit on....i was always getting penalised at Uni for exceeding the word limit.....i may be wrong, but when i had the pleasure of speaking to the great lady herself at Ally Pally she seemed to approve and dare i be so bold as to say enjoy a lengthy post....its nice to get to know one another, its what makes this blog so unique and special. I hope that none of our chattier regulars have been put off by the complaints of a few less compassionate members of the blog, i would hate for people to cut their message in fear of upsetting others. I am sure that i offend at times, totally unintentionally of course, because that's life, we cant please everybody. However, if my comments manage to put a smile on someone's face then i am tickled pink. I will continue to post my usual tongue in cheek banter in an attempt to bring some cheer in the process, and if Sue has any problems with my posts then i will tailor them accordingly because she is The Boss and i respect her integrity and most of all, opinion.
Pam and P, totally concur with your comments, hope you are both wellxxx
Myra, how kind of you but I am all too aware of my attributes, it's why Yvonne is so jealous of me:-) Seriously though, Thankyou, it means a lot to mexxx
Tina, Elaine, Tina T , Lynda and anyone else ill or caring for a loved one, i wish you all the best in the months to comexxx
Special hugs to all my besties tooxxx
Yvonne, totally agree with your sentiments and encouragement for new members, lets make Sues blog the biggest and the best in 2017!

Love and crafty hugs

Hi Sue,
Gorgeous card and dies ( have started a new wish list, these are now on it)
I have loved the Teal card since you first bought it to us, so this card is an absolute delight to me.

Sorry I haven't been around for a few days, I have been struck down with the awful bug that is doing the rounds.
Totally missed New Year. So although I'm late I'm sending you my very best wishes HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Love Brenda xxx

I also agree with PAM and like to read all the comments and cant understand why anyone would object. It is so easy to scroll through them if you don't want to read them.

Hi Sue
Lovely card today and what a great colour. The cape daisies are a great finishing touch. Sorry haven't been commenting we've had Christmas in a castle with intermittent internet connection. I won't bore you with the details but as Myra said we are home now. I agree with Pam and P, will miss the daily catch up with the regulars but will respect your wishes Sue. Just have to say to Tracey that I'm sending you a big hug for 2017, I hope it's a good one.

Hi Sue. Todays card is gorgeous. Teal is one of my favourite colours along with the blush, putting it with the black just makes everything pop. I recieved the caped daisies for christmas so will have a try at making this little beauty.
Best Wishes.
