Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  Here is one of the cards from the first set of shows.  I started by embossing the coconut white square piece of card with the Rose Bloom Pinpoint embossing folder for texture.  I matted this on to a larger piece of blush card that had a wide border around it.  I added double sided sticky tape to the edges of the blush card, then sprinkled Iced Snow over the top for a blingy edge.  For the focal element, I stamped the Retro Roses stamp in black.  I used Distress markers (tumbled Glass, spun sugar, victorian velvet, forest moss) to colour in the image.  I cut it out with the matching Sydney die and used the inside cutting edge to cut it into a frame.  I added mounting foam and placed it in a diamond orientation in the centre of the card. I added small dots of Cosmic Lacquer to the circles around the inside of the frame.   I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the smaller circular cutting edge.  I inked it with Spun Sugar and mounted it in the centre of the frame.  Finally, I cut two small butterflies from the Delicate Garden frame and added them to the upper corner.  I tied a messy bow out of white seam binding and seated a flower on it that was made from the Perfect Peonies die set.  I "sugared" with Iced Snow it then added Lace Edged leaves to it as accents.  Two matching stick pins finished off the floral element nicely.  The final pierced mat and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  If you would like to be entered into the drawing to win this one, just leave me a comment.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

A vision of loveliness that mere words cannot convey. Some of your best cards involve stamping techniques, you are such a master of the art and I am in perpetual awe at your talents. The stamps themselves are lovely but your expert colouring lifts the design to a whole new level that is hard to compare. The central element grabs your immediate attention quite rightly but the other elements of this piece of crafting perfection cannot be ignored. The gorgeous rose flower, messy bow and stick pins are your signature and I cannot tell you just how much I love to see them on a card. The soft pink colour palette and just the right amount of bling finishes off this feast for the eyes perfectly. It will be one lucky Wilsonette who wins this little gem, good luck allxxxx
Apologies for my absence yesterday but I felt as rough as a butchers dog all day and decided to give up the ghost early evening in the hope that today would bring the brightness back.
It has been a beautiful day, the sun has shone and it has actually been warm enough to sit outside....in my silky pjs of course!....basking in the suns reflected glory. Whilst the pain in my mouth and face has remained troublesome I feel the warm sun on my skin relaxed me and made it strangely easier to withstand the constant pain.
It was a welcome break from the manic activity in the house....my mum is doing her best impression of a headless chicken these past couple of days, cleaning the oven, sterilising the entire kitchen and cupboards, changing and ironing three sets of bed linen and steaming the wooden floors all in preparation of my uncles visit this weekend. I hope that she doesn't overdo it otherwise she will be too tired to enjoy it:-(
Brodie is the happiest pussy on the planet at the minute, he went out all on his own, at midday and we eventually got him home at half past four....he arrived covered in sticky willys from a garden close by that he appears to have adopted as his own. He is now exhausted and lying on his back with his legs in the air on the spare bed:-)
I am so pleased to see so many familiar names winning one of Sues new release dies, particularly txcowgirl who has had a challenging time lately. Congrats to you all, it is a wonderful set of dies to receive a part of.
Yvonne, okay, I concede, you are officially Sues favourite.....I can't believe I have been reduced to admitting it but the evidence speaks for itself, winning a die in another launch surely implies favouritism:-)..... Enjoy your position while it lasts, because I fully intend to usurp your position just as soon as I get to introduce myself to my idol and charm her with my wit and personality.....some of us don't need white chocolate fudge as a sweetener!
But seriously, I couldn't have been happier to see your name, if anyone deserves a bit of good fortune it's you.Enjoy it honey.xxxx
Beth, you succeeded in achieving the impossible ie making me chuckle with your tale of Hannah. They provide us with so much fun and laughter, normally at their expense it has to be said, and are worth their weight in gold. I do enjoy your little stories, keep them comingxxx
Hugs to all our furry four paws including Lauren, Hannah, Billy, Scamp, Miss Pushy and her many family membersxxxx
Cuddles to Rebecca, P, Lorraine, Maria, Tracy, Lynda, Linda, Alison and Frances and to all in pain or strugglingxxx

Crafty hugs

Stunning card. Every element of this card is gorgeous. I'm already envious of whoever is lucky enough to get their hands on it.
I've been trying to tidy my craft room today and have probably ended up with a six inch square of additional floor space and my desk is still totally cluttered!!
Take care everyone.

Hi Sue
Loving the card. Especially the glitter edge on the blush card. How do you do the flower centre using the peony die. Is there a video tutorial showing this?

A gorgeous card Sue. I think I am going to have to buy more dies and Iced Snow - the glitter really makes the flowers "pop".
