Hi crafters! If you love the look of letterpressing, but haven't tried it, this technique is very similar but ever so simple to achieve! I hope you enjoy the video.
The finished dimensions are 8" x 9 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue. Love this technique, it looks so effective. Fantastic card and video, it's great to be able to craft alongside you. Again, the only thing I have from this demo is the inkpad, but the great thing about your dies is that they're so adaptable I'm sure I'll be able to use some that are in my collection.
Tracy - you're doing brilliantly, keep looking after yourself and don't be in too much of a rush to go back to work, build up gradually. Wheelybad - sounds like a marathon sewing session but well worth it. Hugs to all. Sue XXX
Hi Sue, this card is stunning, and the video showing the technique, is as always brilliant. A great effect to be achieved with card and an ink pad. Lovely dies used too. Have a fab day. Bx
Morning Sue. So nice to see you not struggling with the Platinum for once, you certainly need a Sue Wilson friendly set to work on in the tv studio !
Now this IS my kind of letter pressing, easy to do without any unforseen booboo's when under inking the folder. Love this card, and the dies from the borders to the centre focal point are beautiful. Whenever I sit and watch your video day's you make me want to go to my craft shop and spend, then I realise she doesn't take buttons as payment lol.
Talking of booboo's - guess who forgot to tape down the back of 3 layers of card when triple stamping with the heart die yesterday ? Yep, you got it in one guess lol, think i'll blame it on the crohns flare up that made me feel unwell all day and I tried crafting through it to try and lift my spirits to ignore how I really felt, guess it didn't work as it took my concentration so I completely messed up lol. Oh we'll, I'd stamped the flower heart twice so I sat and coloured that in for something easy to do so at least I didn't feel lazy and didn't give in to how I felt Steph 1 - crohn's 0 😊
Have a good day Sue sending hugs.

Stunning card,love the background.
A lovely, striking card Sue. I have watched the video and noticed you used a different configuration of plates with the platinum when cutting with your dies. Is that easier I wonder, not that I have difficulties with this great machine. Thank you. Xx
A really lovely card Sue, i will watch the video later Sue with my Well earned Coffee.

Love the colour, the dies and the fantastic technique, checked straight away but no white stamp pad :-(. Will be online straight after this and for the Wellington die too, slowly going through the wish list but as I take one off the beginning I add three to the other end lol !!! It is like Topsy.

Like this technique, great card.
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, sorry a bit late on parade today, got our grandson with us for the next 3 days so things are all out of order. I did watch the video when I had my breakfast though and thought it was a great technique to do the colouring the way you did.
Been looking at the gallery pictures on Ally Pally website of the previous shows and winners of prizes with you and also John and Julia, looking forward to seeing you all, only 4 days to go.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Simply beautiful, wonderful video, do keep them coming Sue, they really do help
Morning Sue,
What a fantastic idea - I will definitely be trying this technique out just as soon as I get the chance! It particularly appeals to me as it gets rid of the need for the clean up operation that follows the normal letterpress technique; less time cleaning means more time for crafting, what more could we ask for?! :D
I also love the look of the Brisbane dies being offset - it's inspired me to go through my collection and see what some of the other dies look like when offset together.
As always, thanks for the inspiration!
Laura x
A really stunning card, I love the dies used and the colour:0)

Hi Sue
Oh wow thus is beautiful, love this embossing folder but doesn't it look gorgeous with the white on French navy. Must dig my white ink pad out and give it a go! The dies are beautiful too but having finally found the lattice striplet I must be good! Thank you for sharing.
Love Diane G xxxx
Tracey my lovely lady sending you a hug, you are so close now, keep going and be kind to yourself xxxx
Morning Sue. What a stunning card today (of course it is - it's blue and white). This is a really interesting technique. I do like the effects achieved using the letterpress technique, but I do get fed up having to clean the embossing folders afterwards. This is so much better and easier to clean up.
Thanks for sharing
Lisbeth
Hi Sue,
Clever alternative to letterpressing and one I've used successfully ever since I watched your video. Your card is really lovely, reminds me of Wedgewood pottery - must be the blue colour.
I haven't got the Australian border but will sort of copy the layout with others I've got. That's the beauty about your dies, they'll all work beautifully together.
Hugs, Rose
Hello Sue,
How clever of you to think of another technique- this would should be foolproof too!! Will be trying this later!
Beautiful card the dark blue looks beautiful embossed like that!
As for my friend Maureen!! You know the one I mean - she has planted a daffodil - presumably to flower in June!! I love her really - good friends are hard to find!!
Have a lovely day everyone!
Myra xxx
Hi Sue, love this card and the faux letterpress technique, it is much cleaner to do! I have seen you use the Wellington die in so many different ways that it really has got to go on the list :-) Great video as usual and although the Platinum machine looks good I don't think I have room on my desk for one. If in future the GC gives up I may have to think again especially as I believe they will be converting it to an electronic machine.
Sylvia - what an awful thing to happen, hope you can get it sorted out quickly.
Wheely Bad - well done but get plenty of rest now.
Meeting a friend today for the first time in ages and we are going out to lunch so I must away and get ready.
Frances
Hi Sue, a beautiful card. The 'bed of roses' embossing folder used for faux letter pressing is gorgeous. Thanks for your video.
Morning Sue, This card is beautiful, I am one who hasn't tried letterpress yet, although I absolutely love the look. I'm off to see how you have done it !!

Thank you.

Hi Sue
A very nice card, although larger than ones I usually make, and a pity it needs so many different die sets to create. It would be nice to see a card using just one complete set and perhaps an embossing folder.

Gorgeous card. The colour card you have used is gorgeous. Will watch video later. Very interested.

Teresa
What a stunning technique and such a beautiful finished card....luv Ursula xx
Hi Sue
Stunning card and an easy technique, so much better than letterpressing as that can be hit or miss I find. x
Love the inking technique....so much easier than having to clean an embossing folder. Will have to check out the Snow Cap ink pad...I love stamping white onto dark colors or kraft, but the brands I've tried in the past have been prone to drying up...don't know what it is about white inks that causes this to happen. Adirondack is a brand I like, too.
I noticed you have a new machine for cutting and embossing...cool.
Great card and video again today...thanks for all your wonderful ideas.

Hi Sue,
So sorry I haven't left any comments for a few days but my iPad kept freezing and wouldn't let me get through to the comments page ( I think I told you that before) . Well after another Apple download to stop this happening, it finally seems to have worked! I tried once to leave a message using my phone, but it was too much of a faff ! So all I've got to do now is catch up with everyone's comments.
Today's card is lovely- I love faux letterpressing and the colours you have chosen.

Hi Sue
I have the snow cap ink pad and the bed of roses EF so can at least do the background and then substitute some of the many Sue Wilson dies I have to make something similar to this beautiful card. By the way I loved the pinpoint folder you used on the Hochanda shows, very like the bed of roses!
Tracy, glad things are going well and you are nearly at the end of the treatment but give yourself plenty of recovery time before going back to work, special hugs to you
Hugs and best wishes everyone

Stunning card today! I enjoyed the video. Thank you for sharing. You taught me something today on the video. I will have to try this faux letterpress technique. Great way to "tone down" a dark or brighter color layer on one's card.

Beautiful once more....
Hi, Sue,
It's five in the afternoon and there is brilliant sunshine...although the clouds are beginning to fill the sky and the weather programme on my laptop is telling me that, for the Truro area at least, there's going to be rain every day until the end of NEXT week!!! If that's true it looks like I'll have time to play in my craft room...a win, win situation lol.
Today's card is really pretty and I love the easy letterpress instructions :). The embossing folder is on my wish list but it looks like I need to add the snow cap ink pad. For some reason I don't have a single white ink pad in my collection!! I need to remedy that so I can practise my backgrounds using your technique :).
Bejay xx
I love this technique, it is so simple to do but so very effective. Your card is just stunning, such a gorgeous colour. Pat x

Just seen your video. What a clever idea to use a white ink pads to run over the embossed card ! I think I will try this as it seems simpler than the normal faux letterpress method. I think I have that adirondak white ink pad so I'm itching to have a go now!
Plus I got some beautiful card stock from Julia Watts website not so long ago so I'm ready to go!
