On A Sad Note

Hi everyone!    I am not really one to post anything very personal on my blog, but so many of you ask about my Mom so I thought I should share some news with you.  My younger brother decided a few weeks ago to bring our Mom out to live with him in California as she was starting to have some issues with living by herself.  He called to tell me that my Mom passed away quietly in her sleep.  She was nearly 93 and had a really happy full life.  I will miss my Mom greatly, she was my rock.

I had already scheduled the daily blog posts for the week and they will go forward as planned. I need to try to keep things as normal as possible but I am going to have some quiet time for happy reflection and probably some more tears, I am certain.   I have been very fortunate to have had both of my wonderful parents into their early nineties.  I have been truly blessed.   All for now, Sue x

I wish you true peace. The pain of being orphaned whatever your age is so raw but it does ease with time. Your mum has always been part of this blog and you are brave to continue that. I have seen your strengths here every day so know you will survive well but please make time to rest and recover now. Like so many others, I will be thinking of you and wishing you well.

Dear Sue

I am so sorry to hear your sad news.

I remember commenting on a card that you had on your table at Ally Pally and you said it was for your Moms birthday. It was blue and white and so beautiful. I'm sure she loved it and was so very proud of you as a daughter and all you have done in your life.

In more recent years with your crafting, your die ranges, your TV appearances and especially your blog it would have shown her how loved and respected you are all over the world. It is obvious how much you loved her and you will miss her greatly, but you will have lovely memories to cherish forever.

Sincere condolences

Dear Sue,
I have tried nearly all day to send you this message but I have only now succeeded! Sue, I am SO sorry to hear of your Dear Mother's passing. My thoughts are with you & your family. Losing a loved one is never easy & when it is a parent, it is twice as hard to bear! Please take comfort from knowing that she passed peacefully in her sleep, with out any pain. I did not know your Mother personally but, from the photo you posted of you both on her Birthday, I could see what a kind, gentle lady she was. I lost my Dad in 2011 & didn't grieve properly at the time but it is catching up with me, now! Grief affects us all in different ways, so take as much time as you need. I am a very spiritual person (although I do not go to church, because of my circumstances) & I believe that our loved ones are always around us, even though we cannot see them! I have actually seen my Dad four times, since he's been gone! Your Mum will always be with you, in your heart.
On a brighter subject, the card that has been posted on your blog today is absolutely stunning! Ironically, I have made a card with the same die, today!
Take care of yourself, Sue!
With much Love & Best Wishes,
From,
Mary Blight XXX

I was sad to read your post Sue. My thoughts are with you at this sad time, but I can tell you from experience, when you have had a close and happy relationship with your mum it does not end. I lost my mum two years ago, and though I miss her physical presence I still talk to her, tell her nice things and ask advice - deep down I think I know what she would have said so the answer is maybe within myself, but it always feels like she replies to me.

Sue,
You have my sincere condolences. You are a positive person and your wish to celebrate the life of your mother after a long and happy life and a good death in the heart of her family is to be commended.
In the last 15 months we have lost 3 of our 4 aged parents all in their late 80s early 90s. My 91 years old Dad has decided to go onto 100, as he says he is 'fit as a fiddle with a few strings broke'. We celebrated their lives and passing and I made the Orders of Service for all of their funerals, which I found very cathartic.
Keep your Mom in your hearts, you will see her, in a glance or a gesture made by a family member for the rest of your life. Do look after yourself and take enough 'me time', as this is a difficult time for your own health and well-being.
Big Hugs until Happy Days come again,
Lesley
