Star Spray Background

Hi crafters!  Today's video shows you that you can use a finishing touch die to make a very pretty and different looking background!  I hope you like it!

John Lockwood has shows on Hochanda today at 9am, 2pm and 6pm using some beautiful new floral watercolour look stamps drawn by Sam Poole too!  You won't want to miss his great demos!

The finished dimensions are 8" x
9 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi there Sue. May I ask, your cardigan, did it give you the inspiration for a striplet ? As it's quite similar to the eternal ring I think.
Love the idea of using the star spray as a border/background and I'm lucky to have been bought that as a gift from a lovely friend I found here on your blog. I've never had much luck just embossing through a die it always cuts far too much then looks too messy to use, but on a positive note, the foundation card and the quality of the die enables you to cut 2 star sprays at one time which cuts down on prep time. Watching our Phill have a fab fun time demo'ing his new collection of stamps and other beautiful Cosmic Shimmer goodies along with the most lovely folders.
Have a fun day.

Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
Oh this is stunning Sue, so elegant, stylish and chic. It's amazing the difference the black gloss card can make to the overall look of a project and yet it is not over the top. I love how you have put the silver skeleton poinsettia petals over the black gloss as it just takes it down that wee bit but shows up so much. I love the starry sprays but they are on the list which is ever growing. Thank you Sue and such a beautiful, stylish start to the morning with this stunner, have a good day flower.
Cheryl flower, i'm sorry that you're still feeling ill, i wish you were a bit better by now but i'm sending hugs to you.

I am sending up some prayers in the hope with everything i have crossed that you get some good news soon. I hope that your pounding headache subsides soon as you are going through more than your fair share the now.
To all that are going through what i can only describe as the very worst on this earth i send you healing hugs and hope that my prayers for you all are answered.

Hi Sue, a beautiful card and I love the way you have created the background, I am going to use this technique more often, so far I have just used border dies. The star spray is gorgeous but not just for Christmas though. A couple of weeks ago I cut it in gold mirri for a Golden Wedding Anniversary card. The order was for fireworks, sparkles & swirls which I think I managed with a lot of help from more of your dies and I'm happy to say they were very pleased with it.

Hi Sue

What a clever idea! I have wondered about doing such things with leaves and swirls but now another die is on my list! I love monochrome anyway so this is a winner for me.

Asleep on and off all day but I did catch a little of the things Phill and John were doing on Hochanda.

Theresa w, that's so sad. 56 is no age at all. Hope things get easier in the days ahead for your family as the first anniversary is the hardest, hugsxxx

Tracy, I had a bit of a melt down 2-3 ago, howling my eyes out for several hours. Felt exhausted next day but felt better than before hand. It's been a lot for you to take in in a short space of time so don't be hard on yourself. I will be thinking of you tomorrow, with a hand to hold and hugs all the way xxx

Thinking of Melody and family an Txcowgirl and anyone else having a difficult time, hugs to all of you and hoping for only good things.

I must go, Billy wants to go check that the garden is the same as it was before he went for a walk!

Plenty of hugs to go around with lits extra where they're needed,

Good evening lovely Sue and your crafty crew!

What a joy to behold! Today's card is truly stunning, everything about it is design perfection- the colour palette is so classic and sophisticated, like a LBD, particularly the unusual black/silver poinsettias. The background technique is simply ingenious and is a look that can be achieved with any number of dies- luckily I have all the required elements and I will really enjoy blatantly copying your work...so sorry I don't have a creative bone in my body:-)....I've watched the demo before today but will refresh my memory first since you can never watch too many of your YouTube videos I say!
I had plans to get a head start on my Chrimbo cards today but my plans went out the window when I received my Hochanda parcel of dies- my mum fortunately answered the door so my Postie was spared my inappropriate exuberance. That's my second order that has been delivered in less than 48 hrs, what a wonderful service compared with deliveries fron C&C which take 10 to 14 days! I added to my Noble collection, began my Configurations collection and got an expression and striplet die so I am well chuffed. Storage is becoming a challenge however, I've just bought yet another Tonic ringbinder, my 10th so far, and I'm going to need a room just to store them all in...no wonder I can't keep track, how on earth does Sue manage to remember all of her designs when she makes a card I'll never know!
So, I spent the entire afternoon organising them into the appropriate folders by category in the hope that I can keep track of them easier...fat chance though!
Beth, loved your idea with the egg carton as storage for your smoothies, unfortunately it wouldn't work for me because I have to hide them in a drawer away from Brodies prying paws- he's pilfered 3 so far and hidden them god knows where, nothing in my craftroom is safe...perhaps I should train him to use my GC so that I can whizz through my cards quicker? If he can open doors surely he is only one step away from turning a handle!
Saba& wheely bad, I would love to show you a picture of my handsome boy, he has green eyes, spots on his belly and down his spine..a characteristic of the breed..and is black silver and tan. He is wild but very loving and tactile, more like a dog than a cat- my fault for confusing him with the lead:-)
Beth, my Uncle is picking up bit by bit, he's still in ICU and will be for 6 weeks until he can breath on his own, his lungs are only working 19% of their total capacity! but he is a fighter. He was desperate for a cigarette and when my Mum refused he told her to 'f### off back to Scotland!' So I guess he must be feeling perkier:-)
Special thoughts go to Tracey for your appointment tomorrow, I hope you had a better day dearxxxx
And also to Melody, Francis and Milly, good luck with your hospital visits tooxxxx
On a lighter note, happy 60th Alison, hope you enjoyed your day in Auld Reekiexxx
Yvonne and Rebecca, hope you are ok?

Hi Sue and all!

How clever are you. That background is beautiful. So much texture and added bling. It's a shame to cover it up!

Thanks for the lovely videos they are a godsend!
