Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello crafters!  Today's card giveaway features the latest release of dies.  I started with the background and cut the Pxyis Gemini die six times out of milk card, using both cutting edges each time.  I used just the outside cutting edge to give the same shape edges of a piece of sky blue card that I covered with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I peeled off the backing paper and aligned three of the Pyxis die cuts going one way and the other three facing them the other direction.  I used Diamond Sprinkles to coat the remaining exposed adhesive area.  For the focal element, I cut the Vancouver die out of milk card twice.  I cut them so that I was able to rejoin them into a single larger piece.  I used the inside from the Porto die set to cut the inside shape out of them to create a frame.  I cut the decorative piece of the Porto out of Sky blue card and layered it under the frame.  I stamped a sentiment on milk card and layered it to show through the circular opening in the blue Porto die cut.  I used both the Complete petal and the open petal Peony die sets to create a variety of different sized flowers to embellish my focal element with and to also hide the joined area.  I glued them into place across the centre of the die, using several leaves along with them.  I added cream flatback pearls to all the flower centres and to the four corners of the background.  I completed the card with a pierced milk mat, a thin sky blue mat and a final milk coloured mat.  The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x  9" in size.  If you would like to be included in the drawing to win this card, just leave me a comment.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue,
Another beauty today. The flowers are lovely - I thought I didn't need anymore flower dies, but I'm starting to change my mind!
Steph so sorry I forgot to wish you and Mr L Happy Anniversary yesterday - hope you had a lovely day and 3 sets of dies! Hope you feel a bit better later on once the meds have kicked in so that you can have a play with them. I'm up bright and early this morning as we are getting three separate deliveries of bathroom stuff and haven't a clue when they are which isn't really very helpful. Only 1 firm has given us a 4 hour slot and that's 2 - 6 this afternoon. I'm just hoping they don't all land together cos that will be fun int the cul de sac!! Have as good a day as is possible everyone, love and hugs to all, Alison xx

And thank you so much for everything you do for us. This card is so lovely. The colour combo is summery blue skies and once again you've combined techniques to give us a vision of gorgeousness. I'm just planning where I'm going to put it so it is pride of place when I win! Lol x

Ok so my plans of catching up on videos yesterday went out the window. I could not get online until last night and by then I would not have managed to keep my eyes open. How frustrated was I on a scale of 1 - 10? At least 25!! Not a problem normally as I would have used it as a very good reason to craft. However as I am unable to craft at the moment I was not a happy bunny.
Sunny and blue skies today. Maybe I'll be able to catch up today.
Have a good day everyone

Cheryl - as I'm relatively new to this blog I know nothing of your shower room refurbishment saga but am now looking forward to hearing all about your new floor and all the other additions x

Lancashire Steph - Happy Anniversary for yesterday. 36 years - fantastic. Life and love are so precious and to be treasured. Here's to another 36. Hope you enjoyed your day out and the after effects don't last too long x

Meg - If Sue was not so brilliant and popular catching up would not be an issue. Oh my goodness - an hour or three??!! No, like I said - all day. Brain fog does not make things easy. Mind you I can think of worse things to spend my time doing.

Sandra - you poor thing. I know that Trigeminal Neuralgia is a rare but incredibly painful condition. You must be relieved that you now have a diagnosis but have they told you what you can do to help the situation? Sending you love.

Maria - hope you're having a lovely holiday. If you can't be good, be careful x

Nora - huge congratulations on the birth of Harry John Fox. I bet you are one proud Granny/Nanny/Grandma???!!! Hugs to you and mummy and baby (oh and daddy - he did play a small part)! x

Alison - why don't you make a few cards whilst you're waiting. It will make the hanging around enjoyable x

Diane - the weather was perfect for Ascot. Did you wear a hat?

Sending love to everyone

Good morning Sue,

Sorry to have missed yesterday, had an unplanned day out shopping with a friend, not a craft store to be seen though mores the pity but a nice day was had by all!
Today's card is to 'die' for:-) I know that it may be a tad intricate for some tastes but it caters to my creative flamboyance perfectly. I love the layer upon layer look with a touch of bling and the Wedgewood blue is very appropriate for this time of year-at least it should be barring the rain clouds!
Who wouldn't want to be the lucky recipient of this little beauty. I cannot wait for your next shows when I can bulk buy these fabulous dies, I am particularly loving the new flower combination, who says I don't need another one!!??!?!
Off out to the dentist soon so another day of crafting hits the skids, never mind , maybe I can catch up on your demos later.

Crafty love and hugs,

Belated Happy 36th wedding Anniversary to Steph & Mr L, Steph I hope you feel up to playing with your dies very soon xxx

I managed to make my nephew a very simple card over 2 days. Today I am hurting but on the bright side I have been awake for consecutive 5 hours even after liquid medicine! I managed to change out of my pyjamas for the first time since last Thursday too so that has made me feel happy. As much as I want to go up the table and sew or craft I must pace myself, it's baby steps, hospital was 2 weeks ago today and I would like to be able to get back to the table before I go back down for a scan 2nd week of July so I must do it gradually. I have done a little bit of knitting and maybe later I will try some other "sofa" craft!!! A little blog surf now then a rest as I'd like to be awake to watch England Ladies tonight on TV. Billy doing a fine job looking after me while Mr W is at work.

To all the Wilsonettes who are in pain, injured or ill I send hugs and wishes for a quick return to your crafting xxx

To Wilsonettes everywhere I send hugs, with plenty extra for anyone who needs them xxx

Have a lovely day everyone,

What a beautiful card for a rainy day. Like others, my first thought was Wedgewood and the depth/dimension is fab with a bit of sparkle thrown in for good measure. I think I've worked out what you did with the Vancouver die, eventually lol. Whoever wins this card will be thrilled, it's gorgeous.
Happy Anniversary Brenda, hope you have a lovely time celebrating with your family.
Steph, put your feet up today, sounds like you had a great day celebrating.
Alimecca, hope you get your deliveries all sorted.
Nora, how did I miss this? Many congratulations on becoming Grandma to Harry, sending love and good wishes to you and your family.
Diane, ooh Ascot, sounds like you had a great time, glad it wasn't today, this weather is awful, glad you had a little win too.
Sincere apologies if I've missed anyone, I do try to read everyone's comments and still feel like a relative newby to the blog so don't always pick up on what's been going on in your lives. I feel like you all know each other really well, some of you in person too, so sometimes feel like a bit of an outsider. Sometimes I comment and wonder if the person I have tried to encourage or congratulate has even seen what I've written because I can't always comment until later in the day. Do you lovely ladies go back and see what has been put on the blog after you've posted your comments to see what others may have wanted to communicate to you? Sorry, ramble over! Love and blessings to all - Deb C xx

Good afternoon Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is a bonnie card Sue in the blue and white and i could do the flowers because i have them but would need to wait for the rest of the dies somehow. I love the layers that you have put on the card as they are not all flat layers but staggered(does that make sense to you, oh boy i hope so)on different levels and in and out somehow. The blue is such a beautiful shade of the spectrum with not being too peelly whally or too dark. This would look so lovely sitting up on a shelf looking down to make sure you were doing things right but far too pretty to be put in a drawer. Thank you Sue for such a beautiful display that you give us each and every day as you have no idea just how much your beauty brightens up and makes someones day.
I went up to see the wee man yesterday afternoon so that his other grandparents could go at night when they were finished their work to find out that they had already seen him first thing that morning coming in on their grandparent pass. You will realise that i knew absolutely nothing about such a pass or the fact that i could go in at a time that wasn't just general visiting hour. I found out just how dippit my SIL is as the nurse took the wee lad away for his hib/hip jag in is heel and others and brought him back saying that the cot was wet so he would need changed. Boy wonder turns around and says when the nurse goes out "Oh he wont need changed now that she has put a clean sheet in the crib/cot". NAW Ryan he still needs changed. SIL- "How, the nurse just did it there" No Ryan the sheet was wet because the wee lad wet through his nappy, bodysuit, babygrow and the 4 TOWELS that they had wrapped him in. He is wrapped in towels because they have run out of blankets and the wee fella is frozen where is mother is passing out because of the heat and the last few days events, i think it might be called knackered. She will be in another day or two yet until they can get her stabilised. Ryan trying to feed Harry his bottle when he has his head pushed right upgainst his chest and then wonders why the wee fella not feeding...dohhhhhh!!!! His mother left Kirsten with 2 bibs of which one of them was soaked through because of Harry sharing his milk with the bib.
What a day, Campbell CAME to Rory's prize giving yesterday which nearly had us all on the floor with shock as he never goes to anything to do with Rory except to be on his back about something. "Well that was a load of rubbish" when i got back home "a waste of time". Rory and his friend Ayden went up together to get their portfolios of their achievements for the year. And he got pipped to the post on his attendance and merit awards but that is ok by me but god help the college when Ayden goes as he i think was vaccinated with a gramaphone needle as he never stops yapping. If i shooshed him once i did it a dozen times yesterday at that ceremony as i am old school and think it is bad manners but hey ho i'll stay old school as there is a lot to be said for it.
That's my news for now, sending hugs to all the Wilsonette Angels who want or need them
love and crafty hugs

Sorry Sue to impose like this but can i just say to our lovely Brenda Happy Anniversary flower to you and your lovely hubby today i hope that you have a great day yourselves and to Steph and Andy who i believe enjoyed a similar day yesterday. My apologies Steph for not noticing but just so tired with all that has happened this last week. I hope that you enjoyed your "anniversary present" and it will definitely be of more use than a new toaster or iron which is what i on the rare occassion get from Campbell.
Please can i just thank all the beautiful Wilsonettes for their wishes on the birth of Harry. I let kirsten see just how many people were thinking of her and she just couldn't beleive that there are so many nice people in the world, so thank you for making my baby girls' day as well

Sue, sorry, got the camellias and peonies muddled today - answer is to own them all then confusion would end! Whatever, they both are lovely.
Deb C - think a lot of us have a check back to read the comments, just like to know what is going on - and you are definitely a Wilsonette, never an outsider. We all had to start at some point and most of us only know each other from reading the comments. I always read yours!
Brenda - another anniversary lady. Hope it's a good one for you both.
Norah - oh my what a couple of days, it'll all sort out soon. What with OH and SIL we are well entertained, which planet do they come from?

Hi Sue. This is a beautiful card today !! I love the way you have used your new Gemini Pxyis die to make a background all over the card. It looks very pretty. I like the effect that it has made when putting three of the dies facing one way and the other three around the other way.
