You're Wonderful

Hello all!  A tone on tone High/low technique background on today's card.    I started with an aqua piece of card and covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I used the Tiles mask on this background.  I peeled the backing paper off  and then inked the mask with a clear Perfect Medium, which keeps it from sticking to the mask too strongly. Placing the mask with the inked side down to the sticky sheet. I coated it with Diamond Snow.  I peeled the mask up, exposing the remaining adhesive and then I coated it with clear micro beads, burnishing them down well.  I wrapped a piece of white seam binding from corner to corner and added a messy bow with a crystal sparkler and a Bakers Twine bow.  For the focal element, I cut the Lisbon in white card and backed it with a white backing.  On top of that I added the Porto die cut out of white card then backed with aqua card.  The Canadian tag cut in white was added next and I used the oval from the tag to cut out my stamped sentiment.  I added flatback white pearls to the corners and areas on the dies as embellishments.  I also added two matching stick pins to embellish the bow.  The card was finished with a white pierced mat, a thin aqua mat layer and then a wider white mat to finish.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7" in size.

The winner of the Wednesday Card Giveaway is:

Ann without an "e"!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your card.  All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue & friends,
Such a gorgeous card today and with such a simple background (although beautiful), the dies are doing all the work to make this card
Look so amazing, that lovely crisp white against the gorgeous aqua background , showing off the intricacy of the dies!
It works perfectly Sue and I love it!
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, we are babysitting 4 abandoned lambs, so we have just been out to feed them, it felt just like the old days of getting up at 5.20 in the morning to make up bottles of baby milk!
Cameeli it has been good to see you back on Sue's blog, what's happening with your craft room?
Steph, hope you are well too!

Hi Sue & Wilsonettes...

Congratulations Ann without an E...for winning Wednesdays giveaway card...what a lovely & exciting start to your weekend to see that you have won Sues Gem of a card. x x x

Yes Sue...I'm going to say it...you have posted us yet another Gem...thank you so much for sharing with us...I love the Aqua colour card...I managed to purchase some at the workshop. Your technique for using diamond snow & the beads is not something I would have thought of but it will be entered in my book of crafty hints & tips (which is just an A4 size address book where I can Alphabetise the hints-this will go under A for Adhesive hints.

I have the Lisbon die, to try this card, but I cannot imagine how the Porto Die had slipped itself out of the shopping basket...I'll have to put that right in the near future...lol...anyways Sue a stunning card & sure to inspire so many others as it does me x x x

Marion...how awful that your injury to hand/arm prevents you from crafting...sending you hugs & smiles & I sincerely pray for the day you are able to craft again happens very soon x x x

Janet...thinking of you yesterday re physio...sincerely hope it went better than you thought & you were able to get back to crafting...sending Hugs & smiles x x x

Johanna...as mentioned before by Wilsonette...please do not give up on your independence...if you are worried about travelling alone see if there is someone living close to you who attends the workshop who wouldn't mind sharing the journey with you...I cannot get to the workshop at all unless it ties in with my husbands shift pattern & his time off...anyways Jo hope this helps...sending hugs & smiles x x x

Which brings me to thanking Sue, Johanna, Myra, Karen & Alison (good luck with your Bathroom...believe me it will be worth it in the end x x x)for your lovely comments re Julia's Workshop it was as much fun as it was educational x x x

Hugs & smiles to you & your family Sue & to Wilsonettes...may you all enjoy a wonderful Saturday & take care all...Love Beth B x x x

Hi Sue. Wow, I love this card. It is gorgeous from the largest layer to the final stick pin!
The High/Low technique gives a beautiful soft look using Diamond Snow and Micro beads.
(Why do things just seem to vanish into thin air? I have a nearly new pot of Diamond Snow that I cannot find anywhere, until I buy another pot that is, then it will suddenly turn up, won't it! Never mind, they will both get used, it's just frustrating : )
Congratulations to Wednesday Card Giveaway lucky winner Ann without an "e" : )
Sue, I hope you are not working too hard and are managing to relax sometimes : )

Good morning Sue and ladies,

Wow! this high/low technique is very effective, I must try this out when I find my diamond ice and microbeads!(Just like Mrs B.) A beautiful card.
Since Jamie (no.1 grandson) and I created my craft room, everything was just put away in boxes drawers and on shelves. I am now slowly getting them all in order of use so that the things I use the most are those closer to hand.
Well, after that terrible downpour yesterday I hope your weekend will be brighter.
Take care mind,
Love & hugs

Such a soft and gentle start to this Saturday morning. I love love tone on tone and today's gift is just amazing. I really do like -well more than like- your focal dies but they are going to have to wait a little before my die money pot has grown somewhat. Thank you for starting my Saturday off with one of your beautiful pieces of Art.

I'm with Cheryl for hoping for a better week-end than yesterday. I think we had everything bar snow and it wasn't the gentle rain of Spring either. After my hectic week-end last week we have nothing definite planned so hopefully it too will be gentle. Well I can hope.

Congratulations to Ann without an E. Enjoy your gift.

Hi Sue. Hope you are happy and well today. Such a beautiful delicate tone on tone, there is something so soothing about pastel tone on tone cards, and even prettier with your high/low technique. Yes I agree with Pam and craftysootoo, beautiful card for the start of the weekend.
Week 3 of dog training and she is doing well. A much larger brain than I could ever wish for lol.
To any Wilsonettes plus my dear friend Alison who maybe going to the craft fair today, enjoy your time there and hope you find many bargains, lovely Phill is there ( I think) you may want to check Im right, you know what im like) !!!!!
Congrats to Ann without an e on your lovely card, you will get so much pleasure from it. At last the A4 'corporate' card has left the building to post office thank goodness, I cant believe how many times they changed their mind about design and each sample photo I sent had to go in front of a committee ! They eventually decided clean lines, no fussyness, plain and shades of blue, as foundations have so many shades of blue I was well away just wish they had decided sooner on design so it wouldn't have taken most of the week to complete ! Its crazy, but there you go lol.
Time to get back to frills, flower's and butterflies, and leave plain and simple on the back burner for some time lol.
Sending love.

I love the colour combination of your card today Sue. Its one of those cards that don't require a lot of adornment, as the dies are enough to make a lovely card. Congratulations! to everyone who was lucky enough to win one of Sue's cards.
