Thanks For Everything

Morning crafters!  A bit of a peachy one for today. Although peach isn't a colour that I use very often, I always really like it when it is finished.  The milk card looks a bit vintage with it as well.   I started by doing some faux leterpressing on my background.  I used the Peach Bellini Adirondack pigment ink to ink up my Rambling Blossoms embossing folder.  I used  a piece of milk card for the background and letterpressed it through the Grand Calibur, transferring the ink to the floor of the embossed design.  I cut the Kefalonia die out of milk card using both the inside and outside cutting edge to create a frame.  I inked it with the same Peach Bellini pigment ink before removing it from the die.  I added it to the centre of my background with mounting foam.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with the Caribbean Island tag.  Inked the edges of it as well before removing it from the die.  Using the Complete petal Camellia, I made six flowers of varying sizes out of milk card.  I inked the edges of all of them with Peach Bellini ink to tone them to the card.  I arranged them on either side of my sentiment as embellishments.  Finally, the card was finished with my Paved Pearl technique using Ivory PVA glue dots all the way around a wide border.  There is a tutorial for this technique at the top of the blog.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Morning, Sue, like peach and this is a cracker! Always wonder at your inventiveness, don't think I'd have the patience to do letterpressing but it does give such gorgeous results that you couldn't achieve any other way. Love those flowers, too! Altogether beautifully coordinated.

Hi there Sue. Hope all is going well with the samples, and the weather is being kind.
I had tried the letter pressing technique last week and I was hopeless ! I dont know if I ink up the wrong side or what but it certainly didnt work. You make it all look so easy. Im sure it is if you own more than one brain cell lol.
It really is a lovely peachy card today.
Sending love to you and all that visit your wonderful world of inspiration today. Hoping Heather T is back in the crafting world along with our TOB.

Hi Sue & Wilsonettes

Firstly I would like to thank you Alison for your birthday wishes to my husband Steve...he appreciated your thoughts very much....but please no apologies necessary Hun...it is not compulsory...lol...and you have had an awful lot of mixed emotions going through your mind of late, I sincerely hope that having your family around you this weekend has helped ease things for you and helped you to smile again. Hugs Beth x x x

Wow again Sue...one of my favourite colours...trust me not to be able to make up my mind between Peach and Purple. I have the Peach Bellini and Wild Wisteria inks and they are even more stunning in real time.

A stunning card Sue and I think? that we are going to be learning Letterpress technique with Julia Watts on Thurs which I am looking forward to...yay!!!!it will be my first ever attendance at a crafting event. Anyways Sue thank you for sharing such a gorgeous creation with us...one I shall certainly try especially in my fave colour.

Is it ok to mention about the Smoothies please Sue?...

For anyone who has difficulty with inking, which I do due to Arthritis, and you have never tried the cone shaped smoothies, please try them, without a doubt they are absolutely fantastic. I tried them when inking a cut out in the Die and for the first time I had achieved a perfect result. I had previously tried everything but always ended up with blotches and goodness what else and never happy with the result.

I just wanted to share a helpful tip with a fellow Wilsonette. Hope no one/Sue minds but do Give them a try...

Anyways Hugs and warm smiles to one and all and wishing you a lovely Bank Holiday...Love Beth B x x x

Thanks to all for their congrats yesterday on my name being one of the comment game winners, still on a high.

As Cully has a definite gleam in her eye when the postman is around and as my regular postie is on holiday I have decided to try to do damage limitation control. This means I'm going to tape a box to the letterbox to hopefully prevent Cully from attacking my winnings when they arrive. I know that she can run alot faster as she has two more legs than me and her hearing is far superior so I have to try to level the playing field. Told hubby there is method to my madness his reply was there is madness in your method. Not sure if I've been insulted!!!!

Have a good Monday all lol lynne m & dreadfully devious doggie divas x x x x

A truly elegant gift for every girl whatever age above 20. Peach is also a colour I very rarely use too but you make it so wonderful. It always reminds me of 1930s colour for underwear/nightdresses, soft and gentle and yes elegant.

At the moment we have a very dull start to the day with the sky very cloudy so how we finish up is anyone's guess.
Whatever you have planned for this Bank Holiday day I hope everything goes well.

To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Steph, no unfortunately it's going to be a while before I can craft thanks for asking. I too used to struggle with the letter pressing, so I practised with copy paper, then when I got it right I marked the embossing folder with permanent marker to remind me which side to use. I could never work out which was emboss and deboss so this worked for me.
Beth I agree with you the Smoothies are fabulous to use when inking I'd never go back to using cut and dry.

Morning Sue, I am loving this peach, not a colour I normally go to, but this is beautiful. Very spring like. Hope you do t mind going to do a quick rave about the smoothies.

Regarding the smoothies, they are the best thing since sliced bread. I have arthritic hands and these smoothies are so easy to hold and more than that the finish you get is amazing, no more harsh lines and blobs, and the little pointed end is ideal for either making small dots or getting in small areas, I would definitely recommend them , oh and they are so easy to clean.

Hi Sue,

Another pretty card. I like the peach and cream together and of course, love the flowers. I have never been successful with letter pressing or any other inking for that matter.lol I have looked for the smoothies but have been unable to find a website that has them in stock. Waiting for JS to re-stock them, and maybe then I can improve my inking - or at least try!

Hi Sue

I'm another who would not have normally considered peach but the colour of that ink is gorgeous.

Re smoothies, I'm another convert. I can't grip without my hands cramping up and these little egg shaped wonders are the bee knees. Brought two packs a couple of months ago and need more. Also great with chalk paint, acrylic paints and the shimmer/ metallic paint. Also works with mica plus water, pretty much any ink (alcohol ink will stain) and puts watercolour paint wet on wet really well. My cut and dry won't go to waste as I use it for making glue pads for stamping

Re Faux letter press, I've found I get best results using a brayer to apply the ink, I have not tried with a smoothie or cut and dry. Any rubber roller brayer will do and internet searches will reveal them at a reasonable price. Julia Watts shared a great tip a couple of weeks ago on her blog- if using distress inks 'prime' the surface of the embossing folder with perfect medium (or similar) as it stops the distress inks from pooling. I don't have any adirondak inks but I'm guessing from Sues card today these are a good choice and given they aren't as watery as distress inks the folder shouldn't need priming with perfect medium. Hope that helps, I did a lot of trial and error before Julias advice made it all click. As I only ever did distress plus a medium I'm thinking of trying archival and die ink (the sort you can stamp and colour with waterproof markers) on a magazine freebie folder next time I get the chance to see how good a impression I get, will also try a smoothy and cut and dry with different inks to see how well the colour lays down, I do know shimmer paint applied with cut and dry work really well, I don't remember if it was Sue or Julia I saw do it but I tried it and it works great (have a bowl of warm water ready to pop the folder in or clean it with the soft side of a grime boss. Will report back on it if anyone is interested

Another quiet day after being awake all night with earache caused by a very sore neck, a quick trip to the supermarket to buy my nuts, seeds and fruit and a couple of other things. Weather a bit grey and grim so no real desire to be out for more than the hour we were out. I am so behind sorting a card for my friends birthday as well as other things. I must go now. I hope you all had a great bank holiday/ memorial day. Thinking of the people in Texas affected by flooding and dreadful storms yesterday.

Hugs to all of you. Extra hugs as ever where they are needed,

T x

Hi Sue. What a lovely card today !! It is really beautiful !! I am not really a fan of Peach but your cream and Peach card today looks great. I have the Rambling Blossoms EF folder and I think it has become a new favourite at the moment. I use it so much !! I love the effect you have created using the Faux Letterpress technique. I also love your Paved Pearl Technique. I have not tried this yet !! I really must have a go. Your Kefalonia Dies look great !! I love the embossed frame. Your flowers, as always, are gorgeous Sue. I am really not to sure how to make the Camelia Dies look like this !! I have learned how to make your Roses from your tutorial. Do you make the Camelia flowers in a similar way to the Roses? Any help with making the Camelia Flowers would be much appreciated from anybody ? If any one has any suggestions. Thanks for sharing this beautiful card today. Wishing you lots of love and gentle hugs from Tres x x x

Wishing everyone lots of love today from Tres x x x
