Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello all!  I have a very pretty card for today's giveaway which combines some of my dies from the second release with the Christmas Festive dies.  I started by cutting an Austrian Background out of coconut white card.  I added mounting foam to the back and attached it over a Rich Red card piece.  I cut several Classic Poinsettias in red as well as the Filigree Poinsettias and layered them on each other for a tone on tone floral arrangement.  I added them to the corner with some white tulle and Petite Vinery cut in white.  I made one more matching flower, much smaller in size and saved it to add to the top of the sentiment.  I stamped my sentiment and covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I cut it out with the tag from the Austrian Collection.  I peeled off the backing paper and covered it with Iced Snow before adding my poinsettia.  I added a thin red mat layer then a double white mat with an inner pierced layer.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8 1/2" in size.  You know the drill, leave me a comment to be entered in the drawing to win this card.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Love the colours of this card and also the sparkle on the sentiment - you can never have too much sparkle for me. I shall have to save up for the poinsettia dies as I couldn't afford them at Ally Pally as I love the way they look using the same card and mounting the patterned one onto the plain one.

Hi Sue

I dont know about card, this is more a Christmas masterpiece! Forget the tree, just put this up!!! The red/ white/ red layers look stunning. I got sick off wall to wall red and green a couple of years ago but it's clear I need to use it better.

I have been in touch with Sue and she's asked that those who want to swap a couple of die cut with each other do so privately. You can either find each other via Facebook and swap details using direct messager or if you and another want to contact each other safely- without wanting to pop your email addresses that you use for other sites or shopping on the blog -if you and an other agree to both send them to me I shall pass them on for you or if you contact me with a request of something you want to try and put down what you have I'm happy to try and pair you up best I can. As safe as we feel talking to each other on the blog it is a public domain and anyone could see your email address and use it in the wrong way. We don't want that to happen and it's not fair to have Sue be some crafty directory enquiries passing details back and forth for this matter. You can use wheelybad at gmail dot com (all one word, swap at for @ and dot for "." -it's an address used for nothing else and has a pretty solid password). It's not an issue with using Facebook as a group, it's that if word got out, as innocent as our intention is to try before you buy, there are others outside our group who would see what we are doing and take the you-know-what, we don't want that type of behaviour to affect sales as we want Sue to keep making those dies! I use Google and would check all my accounts every couple of days at least. Sue and I have agreed this is the best solution all round (for her, us and CE) so feel free to use whichever way of contact suits you best.

I'm afraid that's me for today, I've got to get ready for the last interviewee tomorrow and have an early night. Last couple of says caught up with me today and nothing has been done! Lol, wish I could operate everything via my phone!!!

Special hugs all round, especially if its needed and happy crafting

Rich red and white makes such a beautiful festive card. I don't have any of your background dies (yet) because I can't choose. I want them all, but finances/self-restraint are winning at the moment! If I didn't already have the Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia dies I'd definitely buy these.

Hi Sue,
I have been an admirer of yours since I stumbled upon your blog a couple of years ago, but have never posted a comment....until now. I am staggered by your gift for creating such stunning cards and I have been super impressed by all of your die collections too. That is why I felt inspired to comment.I have been too ill to craft this year and I am currently in hospital for an undetermined length of time, but I am armed with your DVD and avidly follow your blog and Tv appearances for inspiration-I look forward to using some of the dies featured in this card soon because they reflect an elegance and sophistication that You achieve so effortlessly and mere mortals can only aspire too.xxxx
