If Nothing Ever Changed

Hi bloggers!  I have cut the Austrian Background out of a white gloss card.  I just thought I would see what it looked like on a whim as I don't usually use gloss card.  However, I thought it was rather interesting when used with other matte card. After cutting the Austrian Background die,  I raised it for dimension and mounted it over some coconut white card.  I stamped my sentiment in black on white card and cut the Salzburg die to create a frame for it.  I added a white back mat layer to my frame, then added mounting foam to raise the frame over my sentiment.  Using the Complete and Open petal Delicate Daisies, I created a couple of black and white flowers as embellishments.  In the upper corner, I cut a butterfly out of white glitter card from the Magical Butterflies set .  I added some thin antennae from a sliver of card and white flatback pearls down the centre of the body.  I completed the card with a white pierced mat layer, a thin black mat and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  9" in size.

Now for the winner of the Wednesday weekly card giveaway.  This week's winner is:

Clare Walters!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. Congratulations Clare, its the most amazing feeling when you open that envelope, so enjoy your W.O.W from Sue.
Hi to all our Wilsonettes both regular and new to the BEST craft blog there is. Hope you all have a lovely Saturday. I bought some gloss card last year to do the embossing and ironing technique which I found in your tutorials at the top of your blog, but have never tried it - suprise suprise, but did use it for printing, but now I will also incorperate it into my matts as well as die cutting (bet flowers and ferns will look amazing in gloss card) Todays card is just lush, I do love black and white, it looks so classie.
Starting to catch up with a few show's I recorded Thursday, pausing on the samples to jolt my empty brain into action ! I need such a shake and kick in the bootie region as my dear hubby keeps pointing at the calandar to next Sunday (market day) and I just raise an eyebrow ! Hohum.

Dearest Pam. I hope your first few days at work have lifted your spirits and helped you back into the 'human world' again. I bet you had a lovely welcome back.
So nice to hear familiar names and winners over Thursday's shows and you looked so well Sue.
To our dear friends that are struggling this morning, take it easy and help yourself to a bunch of hugs I have waiting for you.
Looking forward to going into my own little world as Eco descibes her French surroundings to us. But we are missing the antics of our Wilsonettes that are not around for whatever reason. Thinking of you. Please come 'home' soon.
Have a lovely Saturday everyone.
Love you.

GM Sue - wahoooooooo! Couldn't believe my eyes when I read your posting this morning - you have made my day - the hubby was 'coming too' having his first cuppa of the day and wondered what the noise was all about, so I showed him your Wednesday card on the blog and he loved it - thank you very much - cant wait to recieve it.

Now for todays card - I am quite partial to ovals - having a phase I think! - I do love that Salzburg die - my bestest fave is the next smallest one with the lines around it - love, love that one. And I wouldn't have thought to use gloss and matt white card like this - it's a must try.

Well hope all Wilsonettes have a fab crafty weekend and thanks for your congrats etc... Next week it could be you -

Good morning Sue and Wilsonette Angels,
What a beautiful card you have made for us today with the gloss front, it makes quite and impact with the matte card under and on top. It is a chic card today in the black and white as you have used the black just as more of a highlight which really makes the card so beautiful. Thank you Sue for another WOW (wonder of Wilson).
Well done Clare on winning a WOW card, there is no feeling like it is there when you see your name and start whooping with joy and your hubby wonders what all the commotion is about. Enjoy.
Have a great day with Nikki Sheila as she will turn a normal day into something so special through her eyes.
Steph flower, please take it slowly and calmly and you will get more done for next weeks market. Sending you wind to go under your wings just to give you a boost and some energy through ESP to keep you going.
Oh thank you everyone for your wonderful support, i am just so pleased that the wee lass has received such wonderful feedback about her invites. Her snob of a SIL whose uncle paid for her fairytale wedding, bought her house for her as a wedding present and top of the range in everything, says to Kelly about her getting them done professionally. She was surprised at her getting such beautiful stylish invites, because it isn't Kelly as she looked down her nose at her. It is the one thing i am happy at, that it has put her nose in a peep, but i am glad that they passed the scrutiny and for Kelly's sake not seen as homemade which was my biggest fear.
Susi and mum, sending hugs, you are in my prayers.
Cheryl, i hope you got on well at the hospital although i know how it can wipe you out. Keep going flower and you can beat this. Hugs.
Tres, i hope you are a wee bit better than you have been flower. Slowly, take each day as it comes.
Tandy, sending hugs to you flower just because you could do with a cuddle.
Have a good day everyone and i hope wherever you are today that it is a lovely day. Sending hugs to all my angels that are in need be it on blog the now or not. Please come back home soon Lynn and Lindsay, we miss you girls.
Love and crafty hugs

Hi Sue
Love today's card. The die looks lovely cut out with gloss card. Although I'm not a fan myself, it works with this die. The butterflies are gorgeous as well. Congratulations to the card winner. Hugs to all and I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Hi Sue

Love how you've used the glossy card. I like glossy and pearl card but only really used it as card blanks or for die cut embellishments- another "why didn't I think of that?!" Moment.

Have voted accordingly :-) also watched your shows on C and C. Gotta love flexi pay, my French dies will be well used! Thursday was my PA's first day. She saw the show when you were inking your stamps with distress ink and commented how pretty it was. I told her it was the sort of thing I like to do and she wants to give it a go! Wow, I thought I'd have to wear her down for a few months but clearly the Sue Wilson magic has another under her spell!!! Billy loves new PA too. She's very good with him and is happy to have cuddles as well as play ball.

Congratulations Claire! Xxx

Steph I hope that mojo comes out of hiding. I like to lucky dip through Sue's archives and get some ideas. It must be a lot of pressure to have a number of cards done by a deadline regularly. Sending some mojo your way to get you started xxx

Norah, glad your invitations went down well. Some people are just odd- hand crafted over mass produced any day for me. I hope Rory is ok, give him a hug for me xxx
Pam, hope being back at work is going well xxx

Apologies for not commenting. paperwork, letters, the expected tiredness, a little flare up and a whole lot of grief with my neck and back after all the paper work done and meetings but not a surprise. I have a card to make today for my Dad. Mr. W and I are going for a meal with him and my step Mum tomorrow which I'm looking forward to. May take a day or two before I'm back again as a result as would have had a couple bed days so shall do that early next week. Don't want to risk a full blown flare up tbh especially as, fingers crossed, I may have found somewhere to go and use a hydro pool. I have to make a phone call next week and see if its possible. Fingers crossed.

Special hugs for Janet Ecco, Myra, Maria, Yorkielass June, Lynne M, hubby, son and fur babies, Norah and Rory, Sandra, Ita, Maureen, Tandy, Lynda, Pam and Robbie, Steph, Cheryl, Alimecca, Lindsay, Diane and, of course to Sue. Anyone I forgot, all the international Wilsonettes and anyone ill, in any type of pain, in treatment or recovery. Getting my hugs in now in case I'm not around for a few days again.

Happy Crafting

Hi Sue, what a corker of a card! I love the sentiment - I'm presuming it's a Creative Expressions one? If so from which collection? Did all my voting in the Craft Awards this morning and voted for either yourself or Creative Expressions in nearly all categories :o) Good Luck for the awards. Lots of hugs. Karen xx

Hi Sue, wow what a difference it makes using a gloss card to cut the background out of, it sheens. I just love the daisies, the black outline makes them pop out of the card :). As always, thanks for sharing with us. x

Striking card. The glossy card stock certainly works here. I'm hoping to treat myself to the complete petal daisies which I couldn't get when I bought the open ones.
I've got lots of catching up to do on this week's blog. I've just watched the first two hours of Thursday's shows. Thanks for brilliant demos.
Well done Clare on your win. Glad the invites were such a success Norah. Handmade bespoke definitely beats "professional" mass produced any day.
